Specifics of the production of low-budget feature films in the Czech Republic
This bachelor thesis deals with the specifics of the production of low-budget feature films in the Czech Republic. The aim is to assess how much their production differs compared to the production of films with standard funding, especially in terms of budget composition. The evaluation will take place mainly on the basis of interviews with selected producers and executive producers and subsequent comparison of data. In conclusion, I would like to find out at whether there is a unified approach to this issue or whether the approaches of individual (executive) producers to this issue are diametrically different
Visual interpretation on Leoš Janáček’s opera „Jenůfa“
Skrze výše zmíněnou analýzu hledá možné postupy práce s folkloristickými motivy v kontextu postmoderní divadelní praxe a mapuje percepci folkloristických motivů v divadelním prostředí současným publikem. Možné inscenační postupy jsou následně využity a demonstrovány v komplexním scénografickém řešení opery Jenůfa.This master’s thesis deals with the topic of visual interpretation of folklore motifs in an opera production. It aims to map the context and development of dealing with folklore motifs in the history of Czechoslovak theatre tradition. Based on the staging history of Jenůfa by Leoš Janáček, it points to the specific use of folklore motifs in a staging conception. Through the aforementioned analysis, it looks for possible ways of working with folklore motifs in postmodern theater practice and tries to cover the perception of such motifs by contemporary audition. The suggested possibilities of application are then used as a part of a visual interpretation concept of an opera Jenůfa by Leoš Janáček, which is presented and reflected as a part of master’s thesis as well

CONCEPTUAL USE OF MUSIC AND SOUND IN PUPPET AND OBJECT
In my bachelor's thesis, I will deal with ways of connecting music and art in alternative puppet and object theater. I look at the topic from the position of a scenographer and that is why I focus more on examples of visual theater where the acting component does not play a big role or is completely absent, while music (sound), on the other hand, turns from a secondary element into a full-fledged part and influences the process of creating from the beginning. I will also turn to the tradition of puppet opera and its modern versions. One chapter of this work is devoted to musical theater and its relations with the theater of object. In many of the listed creations, noise is used instead of music, some works relate to sound art. Therefore I will also deal with these topics. The boundaries between object theater, fine art, sound installation and concert are very fluid, and my goal is to explore the diverse audiovisual phenomena related to object theater rather than trying to stick firmly to its non-existent boundaries
LEGAL ASPECTS OF DRAMA TEXT EDITING AND ADAPTATION IN THEATRE
Klíčovým zdrojem byly rozhovory s dramaturgy a pracovníky divadel. Předpokládám, že autorský zákon lze snadno pochopit a aplikovat v obvyklých situacích, že intepretace dramatického textu a adaptace v rámci zákona a v rámci divadelní teorie nekorespondují tak, aby byly výklady nápomocné dramaturgům při snaze vypořádat licenční oprávnění a že původce většiny problémů během vyjednávání o licenci bývá čas (soubor začne zkoušet, aniž by divadlo mělo licenční smlouvu uzavřenou, divadlo podá žádost o licenci pozdě apod.).This master´s thesis is concerned with the problematic of legal aspects of drama text editing and adaptation in theatre. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is compiled with the main legal regulations and legal theory. The main sources of information for the part were Copyright Act, commentaries on Czech Copyright Act and another legislation, which deals with drama text from the legal point of view. The second section deals with drama text and adaptation theory. This section is based on the technical literature. The third section consists of research into the main practical questions and specific and nonspecific practical cases. The key sources for the third part were interviews with dramaturges and communication with staff of individual theatres. The aim of this MA thesis is to describe the current legal situation in connection with the practice of theatres dealing with licences and to point out the errors, which can be prevented. I presume the Copyright Act can be understood and applied easily in usual situations, the legal and drama theory interpretations for the drama text are not corresponding the way it could help dramaturges to deal with licences and the origin of problems with licences negotiation is usually the time (ensemble begin rehearsals without the licence, theatre makes the request for the licence late etc.)
výzkum alternativního objektu a formy v performativním instalačním umění
This M.A. thesis is based on author Arden Tan’s latest research of a performance piece A Plan without the Goal; also a collection of an ongoing work of Arden Series. This paper aims to describe in three scopes; How the author collects materials in everyday life and transforms them into works of art? How did she land in the field of Performance Art from Visual Art with conceptual thinking? And how does she use herself as both the object and subject in artistic research?
The author relates her artworks with several notable pieces in contemporary times, addressing issues in art functions, spectator relation, and personal individualism; to explore the artistic potentiality and continue her journey in art. This M.A. thesis is based on author Arden Tan’s latest research of a performance piece A Plan without the Goal; also a collection of an ongoing work of Arden Series. Development, construction and comparison of modern pianos
The aim of this work is a historical view of the development of the piano, a brief summary of the construction of modern instruments and a comparison of four selected manufacturers (Bechstein, Petrof, August Förster, Steinway). During the research, I set two goals - that this work is intended primarily for professional piano players who, like me, are fascinated by this instrument. At the same time, in order for the text to be as understandable as possible, despite the considerable number of technical terms, to maintain readability and to explain as best as possible terms that the pianist will not encounter in ordinary literature. However, this is still a work for enthusiasts, so I recommend reading near the piano for the easiest understanding and using pictures in the text for better imagination. The longer I am interested in this topic, the more I observe that pianists often lack a deeper understanding of the technical issues of the instrument and its basic structure. I believe that the more the player gets to know the individuality of the instrument and its essence, the better and more confidently he can work with it
THE DIFFERENT ROLE OF THE ACCOMPANIST AND THE BASSO CONTINUO PLAYER
Abstract
In my bachelor's thesis I address the question of the development of the role of the keyboard player in terms of the accompaniment function. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to apply historically informed interpretation of 17th and 18th century compositions to piano accompaniment. In analyzing this topic, I have relied on sources on the technique of playing historical keyboard instruments, the fundamental rules of interpretation and the realization of the basso continuo of Baroque compositions. I delineate the functions of the accompanist and mention the issue of editorial editions of the figured bass. The thesis contains an introduction, an overview of the development of the role of the keyboard player, the problems of today's education of accompanists. In the practical part I deal with the issues of interpretation and give the basic rules of realization of accompaniment of 17th and 18th century compositions on the piano
Method of Musical Means Creation
V druhé části práce se budu věnovat vlastnímu přístupu k hudebnímu vzdělání a představím svou metodu tvorby hudebních prostředků nazvanou “Transmutace“. Metoda stojí na principech individualismu a aktivní participace čtenáře. Podkladem k této metodě jsou závěry z první části práce a vlastní zkušenosti získané během mých bakalářských studií, soukromých konzultací a praxí.This bachelor's thesis is composed of two parts. In the first part, I address the criticism of the discourse on music education and literature for percussion instruments. Among the main problems I mention in this section are the exaggerated categorization of music, which is defined based on arbitrary criteria. Another issue is the repeated use of, in principle identical, exercises across music publications. Additionally, the method of writing exercises is focused on quantity and rudimentary listing of all possible variations instead of explaining the principles behind these topics and encouraging readers to do creative work and create their own exercises. In the second part of the thesis, I will focus on my own approach to music education and present my method of creating musical means called "Transmutation". The method is based on the principles of individualism and active reader participation. The conclusions from the first part of the thesis and my own experiences gained during my bachelor's studies, private consultations, and practice form the basis of this method
Human Fascination with Monsters
The thesis deals with man's fascination with monsters. It focuses primarily on werewolves and shapeshifters, as beings, in which both humanity and monstrosity are represented. The work offers the possibility to sympathise and connect with monsters through human otherness. It sees monstrosity as a broad spectrum, without distinctive boundaries
or categories. The work further explores the depiction of sexualised monsters and their wider implications. It analyses the beasts as possible mirrors of repressed identities
and desires. It uses the example of furry communities to demonstrate the idea of fantasy creatures as tools for self-expression and self-acceptance
