Selected Mental Health Aspects of Producers
The bachelor thesis deals with selected aspects of mental health (sleep, stress and internal tension, satisfaction and quality of relationships, and time management) and their relationship with the profession of producers. The selected aspects are described theoretically, and how they arise and in which case they can result in a psychological problem are examined in detail. The thesis sought a direct link between the producers' work process and possible psychological issues. To do this, a semi-structured interview method was used with four producers-respondents. Respondents were asked questions relating to four selected aspects listed above; retrospectively, the assumptions about producer practice and the well-being of each individual were explored. The research found that this is a highly subjective issue and it is impossible to generalize from the findings within this qualitative research. At the same time, the pressing nature of these issues and their presence in the film environment was demonstrated
The Spiritual Dimension of Postmodern Music
Jsou to mystické posvátno (J. Harvey: Tranquil Abiding), nadreálné posvátno (J. Ryant Dřízal: Zběsilost v srdci), teologické posvátno (A. Pärt: The Beatitudes) a démonické posvátno (G. Crumb: Black Angels). The dissertation text informs about the state of the current Western discourse conducted at the intersection of (non)religious spirituality and artistic music creation. Methodologically, it works with the phenomenon of the numinous, as originally defined by Rudolf Otto and subsequently developed by Mircea Eliade and C.G. Jung. The numinous is understood in the text as a sui generis non-transferable spiritual phenomenon that always arises in a specific context and defies any objectification. However, the numinous in the plane of potential can be traced to compositional structures using a qualitative and inductive research method that ultimately shows remarkable consistency in results. The author of the text assumes that during the change of the aesthetic paradigm at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, there was a transformation of the means related to the artistic grasp of transcendent contents, while analyzing these means results in summarizing knowledge about the modernist and postmodernist numinous in music, which, as it turns out, significantly contributed to shaping the music of the last century. In addition to the basic dichotomy of „mysterium tremendum and fascinans“, the author also presents four other categories that determine how the numinous manifests itself in the compositions and demonstrates his claims on selected compositions that convincingly represent the individual categories. They are the mystical numinous (J. Harvey: Tranquil Abiding), the surreal numinous (J. Ryant Dřízal: Wild at heart), the theological numinous (A. Pärt: The Beatitudes), and the demonic numinous (G. Crumb: Black Angels). The text is supplemented in appropriate places with the ideas of music theorists, religionists, philosophers and the composers themselves. In its conclusion, the author comes up with the idea that variously expressed spiritual contents are the essence of supreme artistic creation, the common denominator of which is the desire for the transcendent
The psychosomatics in movement: Hispanic-Latin particularities
The following thesis research studies the possibility of a relationship between movement and cultural background, focusing on the Hispanic-Latin community in Prague, acknowledging the shared history and culture between Spaniards and Spanish-speaking Latin Americans. Through a psychosomatic-based laboratory, this study will attempt to demonstrate if there is a cultural influence in the psychosomatic movements. Using a qualitative framework during the laboratory sessions, focusing on Dialogical Acting with the Innerpartner. And a quantitative framework in the form of a questionnaire for the participants to see how they identify and how the psychosomatic discipline of Dialogical Acting with the Innerpartner had affected them. Through laboratory and research, we will notice that shared experiences and dance rituals can influence the use of particular body parts. Still, they do not necessarily affect Hispanic-Latin individuals in a psychosomatic manner. This demonstrates that cultural background does not influence psychosomatic movements as much as personal backgrounds do
Campfire buddy
inspirující a vyzívající k rozličné tvorbě.
This bachelor's thesis follows the author's journey of self-discovery, self-seeking, the need to
build and keep his place in the group, and the subsequent personal growth initiated by his
participation in a summer children's camp in his childhood. This thesis also shows the camp
environment as a place that inspires and invites to be creative in various ways. Includes
reflections on the issue of working with children in relation to changes in society as well as the
author's analysis of author's authorship. It does not aim to make spectacular discoveries, to
reform camp, it is aware that she can't save the world. It is based on the author's experience
gathered over more than a decade of playing and singing by bonfires and beyond, attending
children's camps as a child and, in recent years, as a camp leader. It reveals how his studies
at the Department of Authorial Creativity and Pedagogy at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy
of Performing Arts in Prague influenced his future direction. If I were to sum up this work in
one word, I would say that it is a retroreflection
The Production Model of the American Production Company Sandbox Films
V poslední části práce detailně popisuji producentský, finanční, právní a personální model společnosti Sandbox Films a její vztah s filantropickou nadací Simons Foundation. This Master Thesis is a case study of Sandbox Films, an American production company focused exclusively on independent, unconventional and artistic science-fiction documentaries, which collaborates with director Werner Herzog, among others, and whose films have won prestigious awards, including a nomination for the American Academy Awards. The core and goal of the thesis is to research the production techniques and to analyse in detail the production and financial model of this company. In the beginning of the thesis I define the genre of the science-popular film, its sub-genres and the current shifts within the genre. In the first part I introduce Sandbox Films as a unique product and demonstrate its uniqueness through the specific film titles it has produced to date and their success, and then through other specific initiatives it has also been behind that have a significant impact on the current "industry" landscape of science-popular film. Then I analyse the history of the development of philanthropy and private funding in the U.S. and define the legal types of U.S. non-profit organizations, such as foundations and limited liability companies. In the last part of the thesis I describe into details the production, financial and legal model of Sandbox Films and its relationship with the philanthropic Simons Foundation. Finally, I reflect on the possibilities of applying such a model in the Czech Republic
Specific procedures of recording direction in the vocal music recording
Práce si klade za cíl charakterizovat a analyzovat specifické postupy a varianty práce v oboru hudební režie při nahrávacím procesu vokální hudby. Kreativní nahrávací proces umožňuje mnoho variant a stylů společné práce hudebního režiséra s interpretem i dalšími členy nahrávacího týmu. The thesis aims to characterize and analyze specific procedures and variations of work in the field of recording direction during the recording process of vocal music. The creative recording process allows many variations and styles of team work among the recording director and the performer and other members of the recording team. Important is the actual professional process of the recording frequencies, which is essential for audio recording. All the details of the ongoing work in the recording team and with the interpreters, especially the psychology of communication, time management and the quality of professional interventions in the field of performance, have an impact on the final recording. The ideal conditions for the performance of music and its sound recording are related to the quality of the acoustic environment, the quality of the recording equipment, the education of the members of the recording team and the ability of communication among all involved. The communication between the recording director and the performer can be characterized as specific, especially when recording vocal pieces of music – when working with the human voice
Procedures of the Recording Director when Recording Classical Music
STREJC, Petr. Postupy hudebního režiséra při nahrávání artificiální hudby.
Akademie múzických umění v Praze, Hudební a taneční fakulta, 2024. 55 s.
hudební režii a její využití v tzv. vážné hudbě, hudebně teoretické znalosti a dovednosti
hudebního režiséra, zároveň zahrnuje opomíjený vztah hudební režie a hudební estetiky.
a interpretačního názoru hudebníka v nahrávacím studiu, vývoj estetiky zvukového obrazu a
time managementu dvou vybraných projektů.
skladatele a jejich skladby: Hanuš Bartoň Shapes of Night, Miroslav Pudlák Paradise
Lost, Jaroslav Šťastný Goelan, Lukáš Sommer Plea for Light a František Chaloupka
Sonata for Flute and Loopers. Poslední kapitola zahrnuje komparaci interpretačního vývoje a
Procedures of the Recording Director when Recording Classical Music.

Diploma thesis.
The diploma thesis deals with the procedures of a recording director when recording
classical music. The thesis focuses on recording direction in a brief historical context,
describes recording direction and its use in so-called serious music, discusses the theoretical
knowledge of music and the skills required of a recording director, which includes the
neglected relationship between recording direction and musical aesthetics. It also deals with
the structure of the recording process, in which are taken into account individual work phases
and procedures, with an emphasis on the field of time management. One part of the work
uses previous practical experience with regard to the possible confrontation of the recording
director´s musical vision and the interpretive opinion of the musician in a recording studio,
the development of aesthetics, sound image and time management of two chosen projects.
The first one is an analysis of recordings released on the CD entitled Goelan, performed by
flutist Lenka Kozderková, which focuses in detail on the analysis of compositions, specific
recording procedures, the summarizing and evaluation of processed musical material
intended for solo flute and electronics. The contemporary composers and their compositions
analysed in the thesis are: Hanuš Bartoň Shapes of Night, Miroslav Pudlák Paradise
Lost, Jaroslav Šťastný Goelan, Lukáš Sommer Plea for Light and František Chaloupka
Sonata for Flute and Loopers. The last chapter includes a comparison of interpretation
development, which is focused on the overture to the opera The Sicilian Vespers by
Giuseppe Verdi. The thesis concludes with an overview of the activities of recording direction
and a confirmation of its indisputable influence on the resulting artistic tone of serious
classical music recording during a studio recording
Evaluation and long-term effects of ECoC project
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the European Capital of Culture project, its evaluation and long-term effects. Its goal is to map the possibilities of everything that can be monitored not only during the project, but also during the preparations and its completion, and to show functional models of the evaluation of this project using examples from the EHMK that have already taken place. It points out the importance of evaluation processes not only during the preparation, but also during the implementation and completion of any cultural project
Significance and Origin of Luc Ferrari's Anecdotal Music
Zpracování historického kontextu vychází především z knihy Jacqueline Caux Almost Nothing with Luc Ferrari, rozhovorů s Ferrarim, Ferrariho vlastních textů, a několika dalších článků věnujících se Ferrarimu, institutu GRM a elektroakustické hudbě.
Analytické části práce reflektují teorii Katharine Norman rozvinutou v textu Real-World Music as Composed Listening a jazykovou mřížku Simona Emmersona. The thesis considers the origin and significance of the moment when Luc Ferrari used in his music fragments of recordings of real life, that he would later call anecdotal. Ferrari later developed the idea of anecdotal music in his iconic series Presque Rien.
The origin of anecdotal music is considered both from the perspective of Ferraris own motivation and of the development of thinking about musical sound in the 20th century. The historical context is based upon the book Almost Nothing with Luc Ferrari by Jacqueline Caux, interviews with Ferrari, Ferraris own writings and other papers about Ferrari, GRM and electroacoustic music.
The thesis considers as the most important significance of Ferraris anecdotal music his usage of real-world sounds sounds both for their abstract qualities and narrative potential. The main subject of the thesis is therefore the nature and use of sound material. The way of dealing with this material is perceived as groundbreaking. The subject of the thesis is not the actual musical syntax of the composition, nor does the thesis deal with Ferraris instrumental music, musical theatre, nor does it deal with Ferrari's sound installations because of their specificities.
The analytical parts of the thesis reflect primarly Katharine Norman's concept of Real-World Music as Composed Listening and Simon Emmerson's Language Grid. The thesis bases its hypotheses on the author's original interview with Brunhild-Meyer Ferrari, Ferrari's wife, who had a direct influence on the form of Ferrari's compositions
