Optical Imperfection as a Cameraman's Tool of Expression
Get PDFMá bakalářská práce je věnována jednomu z mnoha nástrojů, kterého kameraman může v praxi využít, aby v divákovi vyvolal požadované emoce či vytvořil jedinečnou estetiku filmu. Zaměřil jsem se na vybrané objektivy a záměrné využití jejich optických nedokonalostí filmaři v praxi.
V úvodu bakalářské práce popisuji z jakého důvodu kameramani objektivy s optickými aberacemi rádi využívají a jak se tento jev stává trendem dnešní doby. Dále jsem aberace stručně popsal a také vysvětlil jak se v obraze tyto nedokonalosti projevují. V další části se čtenář může dozvědět o trendu modifikací objektivů nebo jejich repasování. Závěr práce jsem věnoval konkrétním případům, jak jednotliví tvůrci k tomuto tématu přistupují a srovnal jsem jejich rozdílné přístupy mezi sebou. Cílem bakalářské práce je předat čtenáři komplexní informace o využití nedokonalostí objektivů ve filmu, jak se tyto optické vady dají v praxi využít.My bachelor thesis is dedicated to one of the many tools a cinematographer can use in practice to evoke the desired emotion in the viewer or create a unique aesthetic for the
film. I focus on selected lenses and the intentional use of their optical "imperfections" by filmmakers in practice. In the introduction of my bachelor's thesis I describe the reasons why cinematographers like to use lenses with optical aberrations and how this phenomenon is becoming a trend nowadays. Next, I briefly describe the aberrations and also explain how these imperfections appear in the image. In the next section, the reader can learn about the trend of lens modifications or refurbishments. I conclude the thesis with specific cases of how different makers approach this topic and compare their different approaches with each other. The aim of this thesis is to provide the reader with comprehensive information about the use of lens "imperfections" in film, and how these optical flaws can be used in practice
Replication of Film Image in Post-Production
Get PDFTato bakalářská práce si pokládá otázku, zda je možné replikovat filmový obraz na digitálních datech, za jakých podmínek a s jakým výsledkem tak může být učiněno. Práce je rozdělená do tří částí. Teoretická část se zaobírá vymezením pojmů, se kterými se bude pracovat v rámci praktické části. Praktická část poté detailně popisuje postup, který docílí replikace filmového obrazu v colour gradingu. K této části byl konzultantem kolorista Pavel Marko. Výzkumná část poté zkoumá, jakým způsobem reaguje odborná i neodborná veřejnost na colour gradingem upravené digitální záběry v kontrastu se záběry natočenými na film. Výsledkem této bakalářské práce je zjištění postupu práce při colour gradingu tak, aby byl věrohodný. Dalším výsledkem je prozkoumání, zda je výsledek práce rozpoznatelný pro pozorovatele a tedy, jestli je možné tento postup zařadit do běžné postprodukční praxe při tvorbě filmu.This bachelor thesis asks whether it is possible to replicate a film image on digital data, under what conditions and with what result it can be done. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part deals with the definition of the concepts to be dealt with in the practical part. The practical part then describes in detail the procedure that achieves the replication of the film image in colour grading. The consultant for this part was the colourist Pavel Marko. The research part then examines how the professional and non-professional public reacts to colour-graded digital images in contrast to images shot on film. This bachelor's thesis aims to establish the workflow of colour grading to be credible. A further outcome is to investigate whether the result of the work is recognisable to the observer and therefore whether this procedure can be incorporated into normal post-production practice in filmmaking

As a methodology developed in the 21st century and aimed primarily at film Directors, Mark Travis’ Interrogation Process allows the Director to bypass the Actor’s thinking mind by interrogating the Character, with the objective of triggering authentic responses through the Character’s emotional memory. This thesis provides an in-depth, step-by-step guide and analysis of the Interrogation Process, as well as critical reflection on its historical roots and its potential use in the work of professional Directors today. This research extends to Zoom interviews with professional Directors and Actors who are already familiar with, or have used, the Interrogation Process in their work with Actors, as well as a personal (Zoom) interview with Academy Award winning Director Agnieszka Holland, to establish a counterpoint between Mark Travis’ Interrogation Process and other contemporary approaches to directing Actors for film.Tato práce zkoumá proces výslechu Marka Travise jako nový režijní nástroj pro profesionální režiséry pracující s herci dnes, v digitálním věku. Jako metodologie vyvinutá v 21. století a zaměřená především na filmové režiséry umožňuje Proces výslechu Marka Travise režisérovi obejít mysl herce tím, že vyslýchá postavu, s cílem spustit autentické reakce prostřednictvím emocionální paměti postavy. Tato práce poskytuje podrobného průvodce a analýzu procesu výslechu krok za krokem, stejně jako kritickou reflexi jeho historických kořenů a jeho potenciálního využití v práci profesionálních ředitelů v současnosti. Grip technology in contemporary film and commercial

Práce zkoumá historický vývoj gripové techniky a analyzuje její stěžejní principy a technologie. Zároveň se práce věnuje současným estetickým trendům ve filmovém a reklamním průmyslu a zkoumá, jak gripová technika ovlivňuje vizuální styl a narativní strukturu děl. Skrze příklady z praktického života ukazuje, jak správné využití gripové techniky může značně zvýšit emoční dopad a vizuální kvalitu díla, a to jak v kontextu tradičního filmového vyprávění, tak v reklamních spotech. F. M. Dostojevskij „Crime and Punishment“ a complex scenographic solution of novel adaptation
Get PDFTato práce se zabývá scénografickou a kostýmní interpretací dramatizace románu ruského autora F. M. Dostojevského Zločin a trest. Prezentuji zde své návrhy a celkový postup, v němž jsem zkoumala různé možnosti a principy. Nejdůležitějším prvkem v tvorbě scénografie se stalo město Petrohrad, které je v mém pojetí prezentováno jako velká bažina. Tento princip vychází z historické skutečnosti a současně se stává obrazem pokoje a duše Raskolnikova. V další paralele scénografie obsahuje téma novozákonního textu Vzkříšení Lazara.
Dále v práci čtenáři přibližuji hlavní psychologické téma románu ve spojitosti s ruskou pravoslavnou vírou a snažím se dojít k psychologické analýze zejména u postavy Raskolnikova a jeho vztahu k morálce, k víře a ke zločinu.This master's thesis describes my own concept of stage and costumes design. The work is based on the novel Crime and Punishment by well-known Russian author F. M. Dostojevsky. In this work I present my drafts and entire progress, in which I explore various possibilities and principles that I experienced during the working process.
The result of my stage design drafts has roots in the city St. Petersburg, which in my opinion is presented as a huge swamp. First of all, this principle is based on historical fact. Secondly, it becomes an image of the soul Raskolnikov and his room as well. In another parallel the stage design contains the theme of the New Testament thext – The Resurrection of Lazarus.
These paragraphs attempt to approach the main psychological theme of the novel in connection with the Russian Orthodox faith, and try to come to a psychological analysis especially of the main character of Raskolnikov and his relationship to morality, faith and crime
Drama in education workshop about Franz Kafka
Get PDFV této čtyřdenní jednorázové dílně jsem se zabývala Franzem Kafkou, jeho životem, dílem
(zvláště povídkou Proměna) a místy v Praze, která jsou s ním spojená. Cílem práce bylo
seznámit žáky s Proměnou pomocí strukturovaného dramatu, ukázat jim místa v Praze, kde
Franz Kafka pobýval, a předat informace, které se jim budou hodit k maturitní zkoušce.
V bakalářské práci analyzuji povídku, píšu stručně o Kafkově životě, popisuji a reflektuji
jednotlivé dny dílny. Žáky jsem s Proměnou seznámila, vyzkoušeli si v ní především hru v roli
a prošli si jiným způsobem nahlížení na literární dílo. Procházka po Praze dovolila žákům
propojit teorii s konkrétními místy. Myslím, že si žáci odnesli z dílny především inspiraci pro
svou budoucí práci, než teoretické informace. Na tomto posledním bodě by se dalo pro příště
zapracovat.In this four-day one-off workshop I explored Franz Kafka, his life, his work (especially his
short story "Proměna") and the places in Prague that are associated with him. The aim of the
work was to introduce the pupils to The Metamorphosis through structured drama to show
them places in Prague where Franz Kafka was staying and to give them information that will
be useful for their final exam. In my bachelor's thesis I analyse the short story, write briefly
about Kafka's life, and describe and reflect on each day of the workshop. On the second day
I introduced the pupils to The Metamorphosis. They tried out role-playing and experienced a
different way of looking at a literary work. The walk around Prague allowed the pupils to
connect theory with specific places. In the end I think that the pupils took away from the
workshop mainly inspiration for their future work, rather than theoretical information. This last
point could be worked on for the future

z literárně-dramatického oboru na Základní umělecké škole Karla Malicha v Holicích.
Práce se zabývá průběhem inscenačního procesu během tří měsíců. V jednotlivých
kapitolách je popsána analýza předlohy, tvarování situací, prezentace inscenace a její
reflexe. Součástí práce je podrobná charakteristika jednotlivých členů skupiny.
Inscenace je inspirovaná povídkou Zimní řez z knihy Příšerné příběhy strýce Montaguea
a pokouší se spojovat žánr hororu a komedie. V rámci inscenační práce se účastníci
zabývají tématem podivínství a na jeho základě vyloučení z kolektivu. Téma objevují ve
zkoumaném příběhu, ke kterému během inscenačního procesu přistupují autorsky.The content of this bachelor thesis is a mapping and description of the creative
activities of a children's group attending drama classes at the Art School of Karel Malich
in Holice. The thesis deals with the course of the staging process during three months.
The individual chapters describe the analysis of the literary subject, the shaping of
situations, the presentation of the theatrical performance and its reflection. The thesis
includes a detailed characterization of the individual members of the group. The
theatrical performance is inspired by the short story Winter pruning from the book Uncle
Montague’s tales of terror and attempts to combine the genres of horror and comedy. As
part of the staging process, the participants explore the theme of weirdness and the
resulting exclusion from the collective. The theme is explored in the story under
investigation, which they approach in an authorial way during the staging process

Skúma a analyzuje jednotlivé snové sekvencie vo vybraných filmoch, analyzuje ich filmovú reč a uvádza ich do kontextu tvorby Joela a Ethana Coenovcov.This paper analyzes the use of dream sequences in the films Raising Arizona (1987), The Big Lebowski (1998) and Barton Fink (1991) by the screenwriting and directing duo, also known as the Coen brothers. The work is based on texts with focus on the similarity between dreams and films, along with the directing style of the Coen brothers. It examines and analyzes individual dream sequences in selected films, analyzes their film language and puts them in the context of the work of Joel and Ethan Coen.

Pomocí vlastních zkušeností se konkrétně dobrat k odpovědím, kde vznikají různá úskalí tvorby a jak s těmito problémy pracovat. Zajímá mě, zda člověk své jednání může vědomě měnit a jaký čas tato transformace člověku zabere. Skrze osobní poznatky a připomínky pedagogů nebo hereckých kolegů se snažím o detailní vykreslení studia a jeho průběhu. Pokouším se, skrze vlastní sebereflexi, o co nejupřímnější vhled do problematiky studia a jeho samotný přínos všem individualitám studujících na této škole.In my thesis, I try to help by specific situations and events to understand the issue associated with human, more specifically actor-specific, determination. Using my own experience, get to the answers where the various challenges of creation arise and how to work with these problems. I wonder whether one can consciously change one's actions, and what time that transformation takes. Through the personal knowledge and comments of educators and acting colleagues, I try to detail the study and its progress. I try, through my own self-reflection, to have the most honest insight into the subject of study and its very contribution to all the individuals studying at this school
