Performance psychology and methods of mental training of a singer
No full textTato práce se zabývá psychologií výkonu v umělecké sféře, konkrétně v pěveckém oboru. Vychází z principů užitých ve vrcholovém sportu. Popisuje základní aspekty psychologie výkonu a způsoby práce s nimi. Dále se zabývá mentální přípravou k podání vrcholného výkonu a nástroji, jež nás přiblíží k co nejlepším výkonům z hlediska soutěží, předzpívání a jiných důležitých vystoupení, při kterých na sobě můžeme pociťovat zvýšený tlak. Práce analyzuje konkrétní techniky, jako jsou vizualizace, dechová cvičení a práce s chybou, které mohou zpěvákům pomoci zvládat stres a zvyšovat jejich sebevědomí. Důraz je kladen na aplikaci těchto metod v praxi a jejich integraci do každodenního cvičebního režimu. V závěru práce je proveden průzkum mezi pěvci o povědomí a užití metod mentální přípravy v České republice formou jak kvantitativní, tak kvalitativní. Výsledky průzkumu poskytují cenný vhled do aktuálního stavu využívání psychologických nástrojů mezi pěvci a nabízejí doporučení pro další zlepšení.This thesis deals with performance psychology in the artistic sphere, specifically in the field of singing. It is based on principles used in elite sports. It describes the basic aspects of performance psychology and methods of working with them. Furthermore, it addresses mental preparation for peak performance and tools that bring us closer to the best possible performances in competitions, auditions, and other important events where we may feel increased pressure. The thesis analyzes specific techniques such as visualization, breathing exercises, and error management, which can help singers manage stress and increase their confidence. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of these methods and their integration into the daily practice routine. At the end of the thesis, a survey is conducted among singers regarding the awareness and use of mental preparation methods in the Czech Republic, using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The survey results provide valuable insight into the current state of psychological tool usage among singers and offer recommendations for further improvement

No full textAlongside the artistic work I conducted during my M.A. studies at Damu in the programme Directing of Devised and Object Theatre, I investigate artistic strategies of creating participatory performances that the audience actively shapes and influences. I discuss dramaturgical strategies of facilitating participation and investigate what care audiences require to become actively involved in performances. Through the notion of relationship I explore what happens once the audience has become a part of participatory artistic work. I devise and discuss different angles that can be used to analyse or to create performances with active audience involvement. Expanding the notions discussed before, I give a brief overview on how objects can facilitate and shape audience participation and how non-human beings can participate in performances.Současně k umělecké tvorbě, které jsem se věnoval během svého magisterského studia na DAMU v rámci programu Directing of Devised and Object Theatre, zkoumám umělecké strategie pro vytváření participativních představení, která jsou aktivně tvarována a ovlivňována diváky. Rozebírám dramaturgické strategie, které usnadňují participaci a zkoumám, jakou péči diváci potřebují, aby se do představení aktivně zapojili. Prostřednictvím jevu vztahování se zkoumám, co se děje, když se divák stane součástí participativního uměleckého díla. Navrhuji různé úhly pohledu, které lze využít k analýze nebo k tvorbě představení s aktivním zapojením publika a diskutuji o nich. Rozšiřuji výše zmíněné pojmy a podávám stručný přehled o tom, jak mohou předměty usnadňovat a tvarovat účast publika a jak se na představeních mohou podílet ne-lidské bytosti

Me between material and animation
Full text linkV této bakalářské práci pojednávám o své cestě světem loutkového divadla a animace. Uvažuji o způsobech animování různých druhů divadelních i filmových loutek. V celé práci se odkazuji na dětskou hru jako výchozí bod mé cesty k oživení materiálu. Leitmotivem se stává iluze v loutkovém divadle. Na jednotlivých projektech od školních cvičení, studentských inscenací i inscenací v profesionálním divadle, kterých jsem byl součástí, popisuji své dojmy a poznatky. Postup je vždy sledován od prvotní myšlenky přes proces výroby a zkoušení až po výsledný tvar. Má účast na projektech byla většinou v souladu s myšlenkou devised theatre, takže není definováno, jestli na témata nahlížím z role herce, režiséra nebo scénografa. Snažím se najít – ze svého úhlu pohledu – dokonalý způsob animace.In this bachelor's thesis, I discuss my journey through the world of puppet theater and animation. I am discovering ways of animating various types of theater and film puppets. Throughout the work, I refer to children's play as the starting point of my journey to bring the material to life. The illusion in the puppet theater becomes to be the leitmotif of this thesis. I describe my impressions and findings on the individual projects such as school exercises, student productions and productions in a professional theater I was a part of. The procedure is always followed from the initial idea, through the production and testing process to the final shape. My participation in the projects was mostly in line with the idea of devised theatre, so it is not defined whether I approach the topics from the role of an actor, director or scenographer. I'm trying to find, from my point of view, the perfect way of animation

Full text linkTato závěrečná magisterská teoretická práce se zaměřuje na filmové dílo Hayaa Miyazakiho z pohledu zvuku a zvukové dramaturgie. Popisuje spolupráci s hudebním skladatelem Joe Hisaishim. Soustředí se zejména na zvukové a dramaturgické prvky, které jsou pro Miyazakiho filmografii typické. Prvky, jako filmové ticho, hudební motivy a mickey-mousing či vokalizaci popisuje na konkrétních případech a zárovněn vyzdvihuje rozdíly mezi japonským originálem a následnou americkou verzí filmů.This final master thesis focuses on the film work of Hayao Miyazaki from the perspective of sound and sound dramaturgy. It describes the colaboration with music composer Joe Hisaishi. It focuses mainly on sound and dramaturgical elements that are characteristic for Miyazaki's filmography. Elements like silence, music leitmotives and mickey-mousing and vocalization are described at specific scenes from the films. At the same time this thesis tries to show the sound differences between Japanese originals and American dubbed versions
Possibilities of using projection mapping in alternative theatre

reflektuje výzkum, jenž probíhal během realizace absolventského představení Prázdná místa,
které mělo premiéru 26. 5. 2024 v Alfrédu ve dvoře. Během více než rok a půl dlouhého vývoje
jsem společně se svým týmem objevil spoustu témat a principů, ale také narazil na mnoho
různých, především technických, problémů, které tato práce shrnuje. V práci nastíněné možné
postupy, především pak ty z oblasti řešení problematiky videomappingu, mohou nabídnout
nové pohledy na to, jak lze v alternativním divadle zpracovávat témata novým, dosud možná
ne tolik využívaným, způsobem.The aim of this thesis is to research the possibilities of using projection mapping in alternative
theatre. The thesis reflects on the research that took place during the realization of the
graduate performance Empty Places, which premiered on 26 May 2024 at Alfréd ve dvoře.
During more than a year and a half of development, my team and I have discovered a lot of
themes and principles, but also encountered a lot of different, mainly technical problems, which
this thesis summarizes. The possible approaches outlined in this thesis, especially those in the
field of projection mapping can offer new insights into how themes can be handled in alternative
theatre in new, perhaps not so much handled ways
Depicting Death as Supernatural in Contemporary Cinema
Full text linkCieľom práce je popísať akým spôsobom sa zobrazuje smrť ako nadprirodzeno v súčasnej
kinematografii. Pomenovať konkrétne štylistické a naratívne figúry na základe ktorých sa
smrť môže zobraziť. Poznatky budú vychádzať z filmovej teórie, ktorú pomenoval vo svojej
práci francúzsky filozof Gilles Deleuze a na poznatkoch filmových hnutí z histórie
kinematografie, ktoré spracovávajú filmový teoretici Kristim Thompsonová a David Bordwell.
Následne na základe analýzy troch vybraných filmov jednotlivé figúry popísať a nájsť rozdiely
v jednotlivých zobrazeniach. Taktiež chcem na základe analýz popísať jednotlivé prístupy ku
tematike smrti a nadprirodzena, ktoré z týchto zobrazení vyplývajú. Pokúsim sa zistiť, či je
vôbec možné smrť ako abstraktný koncept zobraziť na filmovom plátne.The aim of this thesis is to describe how death is portrayed as supernatural in contemporary
cinema. To name specific stylistic and narrative figures on the basis of which death can be
depicted. The insights will be based on the film theory named by the French philosopher
Gilles Deleuze in his work and on the knowledge of film movements from the history of
cinema, as elaborated by film theorists Kristim Thompson and David Bordwell. Then, on the
basis of an analysis of three selected films, to describe each figure and to find differences in
the various depictions. I also want to use the analyses to describe the different approaches to
the themes of death and the supernatural that emerge from these depictions. I will try to find
out whether death as an abstract concept can be depicted on the film screen at all
Animated Film as a Record of Emotions and Memories
Full text linkBakalářská práce s názvem Animovaný film jako záznam pocitů a vzpomínek si klade za cíl prozkoumat vztah filmu a vědomí diváka. Z různých úhlů pohledu ukazuji, jak film působí na lidské vnímání. To zkoumám na případu krátkého filmu Ladění nástrojů polského režiséra a animátora Jerzyho Kucii z roku 2000. Nejprve je proveden rozbor zaměřený na jeho žánrové zařazení, strukturu, čas, animaci, hudbu a zvuk. Následně je na konkrétních postupech ukázáno, jak autor vyjadřuje své vzpomínky a emoce skrze toto mnohovrstevnaté umělecké dílo. Především ale přenáší i diváka do hypnotického transu, při kterém se otevírá jeho vlastní vědomí. Účinek navozující v divákovi tento stav nacházím v mistrném použití obrazového a zvukového rytmu, v absolutním propojení hudby a obrazu, v práci s prostředky poetiky a symboliky a všestranné stylizaci. Práce také rozebírá, jak úzce s filmem obecně souvisí fungování lidské mysli, zejména paměti a emocí. Je také zmíněna důležitost a krása tohoto typu autorských filmů, při nichž dává režisér divákovi prostor nahlédnout a vcítit se do jeho subjektivní reality.The bachelor thesis named Animated Film as a Record of Feelings and Memories aims to explore the relationship between film and the viewer's consciousness. From different perspectives it shows how film affects human perception. It explores this through the case of Jerzy Kucia's short film Tuning the Instruments (2000). First, an analysis of the film is done, focusing on its genre classification, structure, time, animation, music, and sound. Later it finds specific processes to show how the author is able to express his memories and emotions through this multi-layered artwork. The film also puts the viewer into a hypnotic trance in which his own consciousness is being opened. I find that the effect of inducing this state comes from the masterful use of visual and sound rhythm, the absolute alignment of music and image, the work with the means of poetics and symbolism, and the stylization of all kinds. The thesis concludes by discussing how closely the functioning of the human mind in general, and memory and emotion in particular, are related to film. It also mentions the importance and beauty of this type of auteur films, in which the director gives the viewer a space to see and empathise with his subjective reality
Feature Film Debut As a Graduation Project
Full text linkTato diplomová práce, zabývající se celovečerními debuty, které vznikly na půdě katedry režie FAMU se sestává ze dvou částí, které na sebe logicky navazují vzhledem k tomu že je autor jedním z těch, kteří se rozhodli pro celovečerní formát svého absolventského filmu. První část se sestává především z popisu peripetií, se kterými se minulý absolventi při přípravě, realizaci a postprodukci svého filmu potkali. Tato část vychází z rozhovorů, které jsem pro účel sepsání této práce provedl. Kromě vzpomínání na svůj debut jsme se ale bavili také o jejich další práci ve filmovém průmyslu a evaluaci jejich kariérních kroků. Druhá část práce je introspektivním popisem přípravy celovečerního filmu Mord.This thesis, which deals with feature film debuts produced within the Department of Directing at FAMU, consists of two parts that logically follow from each other, given that the author is among those who chose the feature film format for their graduation project. The first part primarily consists of a description of the challenges faced by past graduates during the preparation, production, and post-production of their films. This section is based on interviews conducted for the purpose of writing this thesis. In addition to reflecting on their debut, we also discussed their subsequent work in the film industry and the evaluation of their career steps. The second part of the thesis is an introspective account of the preparation of the feature film Mord
Breaking the Fourth Wall Phenomenon in Selected Comedy Series
Full text linkTato diplomová práce zkoumá, jak je pracováno s fenoménem rušení čtvrté stěny v britských komediálních seriálech Miranda a Potvora. Přestože by se mohlo na první pohled zdát, že rušení zaběhlých vypravěčských konvencí distancuje diváka od daného díla a protagonistů, jež sleduje, hypotézou této práce naopak je, že je prostřednictvím rušení čtvrté stěny prohlubováno divákovo napojení se na postavy, jež oplývají silnou komickou perspektivou. Ukázalo se, že kromě významného posílení pouta mezi postavou a divákem se rovněž pomocí tzv. přímého oslovení podařilo podtrhnout ústřední témata analyzovaných děl.This thesis examines how the breaking the fourth wall phenomenon is applied in the British comedy series Miranda and Fleabag. Although it might seem that the disruption of the well-established narrative conventions distances the viewer from the series and the protagonists they are watching, the hypothesis of this work, on the contrary, is that through breaking the fourth wall, the viewer's connection to the characters endowed with strong comic perspective is deepened. It turned out that, in addition to significantly strengthening the bond between the character and the viewer, the so-called direct address helped to underline the central themes of the analysed works
