FAKTOR PENDUKUNG DAN FAKTOR PENGHAMBAT KEPUASAN HIDUP PEREMPUAN EMERGING ADULTHOOD YANG MENGALAMI OBESITAS
Life satisfaction is one of the predictor to determine one's happiness. The more a person satisfied with life, the happier they are. Many factors can affect life satisfaction. These factors can be from within or from the outside of self. For emerging adult women that in a transition period of being adult can be related to life satisfaction. The changes that occurred during that period and also the obese condition bring out challenges for them. The cognitive process also changes. This study uses qualitative method and also using phenomenology approach. The informant of this study were three women with the ages range 18-25 years old who are obese. The informants are selected by using purposive sampling method and through snowball sampling. In addition, this study used inductive thematic analysis as the data analysis technique. The result shows that the factors that affect life satisfaction of emerging adult women who are obese consist internal factors and external factors. The internal factors are value of life, life experiences, self-control, the attitude when facing events in life, religiosity, and personality; whereas the external factors that affect life satisfaction of emerging adult women who are obese are relationship with others, social support, unpleasant experiences, and also the indictment from family
RESILIENSI IBU DARI ANAK DENGAN DOWN SYNDROME YANG BERPRESTASI DALAM BIDANG OLAHRAGA
Down Syndrome is a disorder caused by chromosome abnormalities that are associated with mental retardation, characteristic facial appearance, and poor muscle. The disorder makes a child diagnosed with this disorder has a typical characteristic such as lower intellectual capability, social capability, and healthiness than the other child with normal development. The presence of a child with Down Syndrome makes the majority of mothers experience deep sadness, stress, and depression. That's why the capability to respond and accept the presence of the child positively is needed. Resilience is an individual capability to face, deal, and respond to difficulties or challenges in life in a healthy and productive manner. This study using qualitative research method with phenomenological approach. Informant in this study were three mothers which having a child with Down Syndrome that is achieved in sport. The informant was chosen with a purposive sampling method. This study using an inductive thematic analysis data analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that mothers who have Down Syndrome child’s see her child’s is a gifts, have a sense of pride in the child’s achievements, social support from those around her makes her have an optimism to develop children’s potential, and an effort to develop children’s interests and talents
GAMBARAN SEXUAL COMPLIANCE PADA REMAJA PEREMPUAN YANG MELAKUKAN PERILAKU SEKSUAL PRANIKAH
Study about sexual compliance is still rarely done in Indonesia. Study about sexual compliance is also often done with quantitative research methods, so that the results of the study are data percentages that describe the surface of sexual compliance. This study aims to explore sexual compliance in-depth in women who engaged in premarital sexual behavior. This study is a qualitative study with a phenomenological research method. The analysis technique of this study is an inductive thematic analysis. The subjects of this study are two teenage girls who engage in unwanted sexual activity. The results of this study are in the form of themes, which are about premarital sexual behavior, sexual compliance, meaning towards sexual compliance experience and about current condition of the subjects
GAMBARAN SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING PADA WANITA YANG BERADA PADA TAHAP PASCA MASTEKTOMI KANKER PAYUDARA DAN TIDAK MENIKAH
It is not easy for a woman to accept and take decision to undergo surgical removal of a breast procedure (mastectomy). Losing one of the most important parts of the body that create a woman can be a traumatic event in life. There are many physically and psychologically changes that a patient felt after mastectomy. The research was conducted in order to find out the subjective well-being of single women with breast cancer after mastectomy. Subjective well-being is defined as the positive evaluation cognitively and affectively toward life experience. This research used a qualitative-inductive through an in-depth interview and observation, involving single women with the age range from 44 to 60 years old who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and undergone a mastectomy procedure within the range of 1-15 years before. Result of the research shows that subjective well-being is found in positive evaluations of their life after mastectomy, such as feeling happiness, satisfaction with life, having positive interpersonal relationship, showing their own capabilities in life, religious experiences, being useful for self and family, and thinking positive thinking. This research found that acceptance is an important key that can affect a person’s positive evaluation toward life. Positive acceptance, social support and effective coping stress can help people to have a positive evaluation about their life
STUDI EKSPERIMEN PENGGUNAAN PARTICIPATORY PHOTOGRAPHY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN DETERMINASI DIRI INDIVIDU TULI
Training programs for special needs individuals offered many skils but yet to answer the need of the special needs to be self-supporting. This means there are factors that can’t be answered by skills trainings, it is formulated in this study as self-determination. Self determination is the quality an individu has to direct one’s capability and actions to aim one’s purpose. This study examined the use of participatory photography to increasse self-determination. Subjects are 21 deaf students. The participants utilized camera to take pictures of their aspiration. The pictures and the stories behind are shared to the participants’ group. Exposition is held by the end of this experiment to share the pictures taken to the society. Pre test and post test are taken to measure the self-determination. Pictures analysis and personal interview are done to collect the qualitative data. Thematic analysis showed that this method laid a strong fondation for special needs individuals’ self-determination. Subjects experienced chosing, discerning, and communicating their options through pictures that they shared. Doing so, they experienced their aspirations heard and respected. These experience are factors for self-determination. T-test showed that no significance difference in self-determination. This was the effect of self-determiination deconstruction in some of the participants. It happened because the aspiration of the participants is contrary to the aspirations of their significant others
HEALTH BELIEF MODEL PADA PASIEN YANG BEROBAT KE PENGOBATAN ALTERNATIF
Alternative medicine is a treatment that uses supernatural powers. This alternative treatment is often used to treat diseases caused by sorcery. Witchcraft or so-called witchcraft is the result of black magicians who aim to satisfy hatred, anger or aggression against someone. There are two medical systems, namely personalistic medical systems and naturalistic systems. This study focuses more on alternative treatments that belong to a personalistic system, a medical system that uses supernatural knowledge with the help of ancestral spirits or jinns to heal its patients. This research uses qualitative research method of case study by using semi-structured interview data retrieval technique. Participants in this study were patients from alternative medicine and those around the participants. The results of this study were the fulfillment of aspects of the health belief model in participants who gave an idea of the reasons of the participants to seek treatment for alternative medicine. The researchers also found some motives that made participants encouraged to go to alternative medicine, namely because of cultural and religious influences believed by participants who later caused a person to experience cognitive dissonance of alternative treatments he has done
DINAMIKA COPING STRESS WANITA DEWASA AWAL YANG MENGALAMI ENDOMETRIOSIS
When a woman is a teenager, she will experience menstrual periods. Menstrual pain is normal for a woman. If the woman continues to experience more pain than usual, this is one of the symptoms of endometriosis. The pain that arises makes a person experience stress due to the disease itself. To deal with stress, it is necessary to carry out a resistance strategy, namely a stress coping strategy. The aim of the researchers was to determine the dynamics of stress coping in early adult women with endometriosis. This study uses an inductive qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. The informants in this study were individuals diagnosed with endometriosis. Data collection in this study was carried out through an interview process with two research informants. The results of this study indicate that when the two informants were diagnosed with endometriosis, the impact felt by the two informants was feeling stressed, anxious and afraid of the pain they experienced. To deal with the stress experienced by the two informants, they came up with coping strategies. In the form of focus coping problem, the two informants dealt with pain by taking medication, compressing the stomach with warm water, changing diet and lifestyle. In addition, emotional focus coping treatment by diverting to other things such as self-suggestions
PERAN SOSIALISASI EMOSI OLEH IBU & AYAH TERHADAP REGULASI EMOSI ANAK USIA DINI
Emotion regulation is a skill that develops rapidly in early childhood. Previous research reported that parents play an important role in the development of children's emotion regulation, especially through emotion socialization. This study aims to examine the effect of emotion socialization by mother and father on children’s emotion regulation. Emotion socialization in this study includes the socialization of emotions through parental expression of emotions, parental response to the expression of negative emotions of children, and parental emotion coaching. Participants were 98 pairs of 4-6 years old kindergarten students and their parents. The measurement used Indonesian version of four instruments, includes Self-Expressiveness in the Family Questionnaire (SEFQ), Coping with Children’s Negative Emotions Scale (CCNES), Subscale Coaching of Maternal Emotional Styles Questionnaire (MESQ), and Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC). The results of multiple regression analysis showed F value of 2.114 (p=0.043). In conclusion, the socialization of emotions by mother and father through emotional expression, responses to child's emotional expression, and emotion coaching, simultaneously affect child's emotional regulation. The contribution of parental emotion socialization to children’s emotional competence is 16%, while the remaining 84% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study
HUBUNGAN ANTARA DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DAN EMOTION FOCUSED COPING PADA PENDERITA STROKE DI KLINIK X KEDIRI
This study is to find out whether there is a relationship between social support and emotion focused coping on stroke patients in X clinic at Kediri city. Emotion focused coping is something that involves efforts to manage emotions caused by stressful events. Social support refers to a comfort, attention, self-esteem or assistance available from the group for individuals. This study used a quantitative approach with correlational techniques. Research subjects numbered 106 patients who had a stroke in Kediri, with paralysis of some parts of the body and aged 40-65 years. This study using purposive sampling. The data in this study were obtained using social support scale and emotion focused coping scale. The data analysis technique used a non parametric kendall tau-b. The results showed there was no relationship between social support and emotion focused coping, with a sig value = 0.097 (p> 0.05). This happens because there are several other factors that are more related to emotion focused coping, such as the type of problem, age and gender. In addition, based on the results of observations and interviews in the field, the researcher found and indicated that there is a possibility of a lack of attachment between family members, which causes the support provided has no impact on stroke patients
EFEKTIVITAS PSIKOEDUKASI PAIN MANAGEMENT DALAM MENGURANGI NYERI TUBUH PADA DEWASA LANSIA DI POSYANDU LANSIA X
The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of pain management psychoeducation to decrease pain on elderly people in the integrated healthcare center X. This study used a quasi experimental research with 25 participants that are members of integrated healthcare center X. The type of quasi experimental designs is one group pretest posttest design. Instrument that used is Geriatric Pain Measure from Ferrell, Stein & Beck (2000) that has adapted to bahasa Indonesia. Data analysis used Paired T Test with sig 0,044 that means there is a significant difference pain score before and after pain management psychoeducation has given
