Identification of Opportunities as the Component of Digital Entrepreneurial Competences of University Students : A pilot study in Kuwait and Serbia
Ten higher education institutions [HEI] in Kuwait and around eighty in Serbia provide curriculums that combine entrepreneurial and IT courses. Their students graduate and enter the labor market in possession of some level of digital entrepreneurial competences [DEC]. The problem lies in the fact that there are no available tools and methodologies that would enable the assessment of the exact levels of DEC the students acquire during their formal education. This problem goes far beyond Kuwait and Serbia and is applicable to any other country in the world. This paper provides an overview of the research design which was applied on a sample of university students in Kuwait and Serbia to measure the levels of their digital entrepreneurial competences. The focus of the research was on the identification of opportunities as the first competence area of EmDigital framework for digital entrepreneurial competences
Crowdfunding Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic : Evidence from Kickstarter
The aim of this paper was to explore the impact of COVID-19 on crowdfunding using data from the Kickstarter platform. The study period covers the COVID years from March 2020 through 2021 and three years before the pandemic. We crawled data from Kickstarter.com with custom-made software, a scraper robot. The research was based on a sample of a total of 43.977 campaigns, of which 29.5% were started during the COVID era and 70.5% were launched previously. To test our expectation that the characteristics of the campaigns during COVID-19 have changed, we applied a t-test. The results show that crowdfunding created an early response to the COVID crisis, manifested as differences between campaigns initiated during and before the pandemic period. Campaigns initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic had lower goals, much higher amounts of funds pledged, a higher number of backers, higher chances for success, and a shorter blurb description, while they were more frequently chosen as favorites by the Kickstarter staff. The coronavirus is a huge economic burden, particularly for start-ups, entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). As a result, the findings of this study suggest that crowdfunding, as an online option, might help fill in the finance gap during times of crisis
Kitchen without the debate: The Yugoslav exhibition of consumer goods in Moscow, 1960
The Yugoslav exhibition of consumer goods in Moscow
was the fi rst of its kind organized by Yugoslavia in a communist
country. It opened its door to the public on May 25, 1960, amidst
the super-heated international political environment aft er the
American U-2 spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union.
Following the colossal propaganda success of the 1959 U.S. National Exhibition in Moscow, the Yugoslavs managed to deliver yet another propaganda blow to the Soviet prestige, showcasing that even
socialism outside the Soviet bloc and in close collaboration with
the United States was not only possible but also better
izvora zagađenja pripadaju Registru ispuštanja i prenosa zagađujućih supstanci.
oksida u poslednjim godinama posmatranog perioda. Povećane emisije sumporoksida loše utiču na eko-efikasnost
srednjih preduzeća koja se bave eksploatacijom ruda ostalih crnih, obojenih, plemenitih i drugih metala, zatim preradom i
konzervisanjem mesa, proizvodnjom opeke, crepa i građevinskih proizvoda od pečene gline i proizvođača papira i kartona
Benefits from adopting technologies for the hotel’s supply chain management
Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have a significant role in
contemporary business activities, helping companies to improve quality, efficiency,
flexibility and learning capacity, to reduce costs, and finally, to achieve competitive
advantage. The aim of this paper is to examine the extent of implementation, as well as the
benefits of ICTs used for the hotel supply chain management (SCM). A survey has been
conducted involving 40 hotels in Serbia categorized as four- and five-star. The results reveal
modest to scanty adoption of SCM-related ICTs among hotels in Serbia. Hotel managers find
ICTs they use as very beneficial regarding: (1) more efficient and faster guest attraction, (2)
more efficient communication with suppliers, (3) increased speed, (4) increased flexibility,
(5) reduced costs and (6) improved guest services. It was also found that the size and
affiliation of hotels do not impact the benefits, while the category is positively associated
with benefits from using the SCM technologies
Evaluating the Role of the Exchange Rate in Monetary Policy Reaction Function of Advanced and Emerging Market Economies
The subject of this paper is the evaluation of monetary policy reaction function on panel data of 37 world economies, both advanced and emerging markets, during the period of 1995Q1 – 2018Q3.
The paper aims to evaluate the role and importance of the exchange
rate in monetary policy reaction function depending on the level of
economic development. For this purpose, a relevant set of unbalanced panel data was formed with a balanced relationship between
developed and emerging market economies. The methodology of
empirical research is based on the econometric assessment of monetary policy reaction function within which the central bank adjusts
its key policy rate to the dynamics of inflation, output gap and fluctuations of the real effective exchange rate. The research results confirm the hypothesis that the exchange rate represents a statistically
significant variable only in the monetary policy reaction function of
emerging market economies. In contrast, adequate specification of
developed economies' monetary policy rule includes only standard
macroeconomic fundamentals – inflation and output gap
Nivo digitalnih kompetencija žena preduzetnica u Republici Srbiji
preduzetnica u periodu februar-maj 2021 godine u Srbiji.
segmentu „Komunikacija i kolaboracija“ u digitalnom okruženju
Exploring Regulatory Obstacles to the Development of Short Food Supply Chains: Empirical Evidence from Selected European Countries
This paper explores the challenges in meeting the regulatory requirements of short food supply chains in 9 European countries based upon findings from the European H2020 3-year project
“SMARTCHAIN”. The assessments of the barriers that small food producers face in meeting different
regulatory requirements are presented. Drawing on the results of 10 multi-actor workshops that involved 124 participants, the most problematic policy frameworks for short food supply chains and key
obstacles in different regulatory requirements are summarized. This research shows that current EU
and national regulation is an obstacle to the development of short food supply chains, meaning that
additional efforts are needed to tailor the regulations to small food producers involved in short supply
chains. Furthermore, it is necessary to consider the introduction of more effective support measures
for short food supply chains
Economic Inclusion of Women Entrepreneurs During Covid-19 in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina
Ekološko izveštavanje i eko-inovacije u funkciji društvene odgovornosti preduzeća u Srbiji
Društvena odgovornost u poslovanju podrazumeva uspešnost merenu
realizovanim finansijskim performansama, ali i praćenjem uticaja primenjenih
tehnologija i poslovnih procesa na životnu sredinu i na širu društvenu zajednicu.
Orijentacija na ostvarivanje ekonomskih i finansijskih performansi upotpunjena
sagledavanjem ekoloških, društvenih i socijalnih aspekata poslovanja doprinosi
korporativnoj održivosti i uspešnom dugoročnom poslovanju. Pojedine
kompanije u Srbiji su ranije prepoznale važnost korporativne održivosti i
inkorporirale pored ekonomskih, i socijalne, kulturne i ekološke performanse u
poslovne procese i izveštavanje, iako se zakonska obaveza nefinansijskog
2021. godinu. Cilj rada je sagledavanje i analiza nivoa i kvaliteta obelodanjivanja
ekoloških informacija i informacija o investiranju u inovativne procese i proizvode
Nivo
obelodanjivanja informacija o zaštiti životne sredine i eko-inovacijama je dobijen
analizom sadržaja različitih finansijskih i nefinansijskih izveštaja odabrane grupe
poslovnih aktivnosti
