Public Debt and Redeemability -Approach from Viewpoint of Welfare Economics-
We will analyze public debt, which is said to be the fate of the Japan economy, from the perspective of welfare economics. In Japan, there is a conflict between the idea that the accumulation of public debt leads to fiscal collapse and the idea that public debt contributes to economic welfare. In this study, we define a temporary equilibrium path under the overlapping generations model and show that public debt has a threshold that separates the redeemable threshold from the financial collapse path according to the current balance. This means that although public debt accumulates and leads to financial collapse, it will converge endogenously if it is within the threshold. In addition, paths of temporary equilibrium with different budget deficit balances are compared based on the Pareto criterion. It is concluded that public debt contributes to economic composition if it is within the threshold, but if it exceeds the threshold, it will lead to financial collapse. Therefore, a single model can consistently explain conflicting public debt claims. This study in intertemporal economics also provides an answer to the open problem arising from Blanchardʼs (2019) method, which relies on comparative static analysis to address the equilibrium of public debt.論説departmental bulletin pape
Close cooperation between Semi1 and Semi2 proteins is essential for pronuclear positioning in Tetrahymena thermophila
During sexual reproduction in the ciliate Tetrahymena thermophila, meiosis occurs in the germline micronucleus, resulting in the formation of four haploid micronuclei. Of these, only one is selected to evade autophagy, and subsequently migrates to the membrane junction with the partner cell for reciprocal pronuclear exchange. We previously demonstrated that the transmembrane protein Semi1 is essential for this nuclear migration. Semi1 is specifically expressed in mating cells and localizes to the periphery of the selected nucleus. Loss of Semi1 disrupts nuclear attachment to the junction, leading to infertility. However, the mechanism by which Semi1 positions the nucleus at the junction remains unclear. Here, we report that the Semi1-interacting protein, Semi2, is also necessary for proper nuclear positioning. Deletion of Semi2 results in the same nuclear mislocalization phenotype and infertility observed in Semi1 mutant cells. Semi2 colocalizes with Semi1, but in the absence of Semi1, Semi2 fails to exhibit perinuclear localization. The selected nucleus anchors to microtubules prior to migration, a process dependent on both Semi1 and Semi2. We propose a model in which Semi1 recruits Semi2 to the selected nucleus, facilitating the interaction between the nucleus and microtubules required for proper nuclear positioning at the membrane junction.journal articl

An Examination of the Illustrative Characteristics in the Tōshisen Ehon 唐詩選画本 Changes in Illustrations in Revision Editions and Their Influence on Other Works
The Tōshisen Ehon is a series of illustrated volumes of the Tōshisen 唐詩選(Selected Poems of the Tang Dynasty), for which many annotated editions were published during the Edo period. This series consists of seven volumes, with the first and second volumes, which were published earlier, containing many illustrations that were restructured based on a range of Chinese works, including the Tōshiga-fu 唐詩画譜(Illustrated Poems of the Tang Dynasty). Despite this,
the illustrations in these volumes of the Tōshisen Ehon were unparalleled in both quantity and quality within illustrated versions of the Tōshisen, and as a result, they were widely imitated in similar works published in later periods. These illustrations hold significant value in the study of the reception of the Tōshisen.
Previous research has examined various aspects, including the compilation process of these works, the reception of Chinese classics in the illustrations, and the modifications made in the first and second volumes of the revision editions.
This paper, however, focuses on the changes made to the illustrations in the first and second volumes of the revision editions of the Tōshisen Ehon, which have not been thoroughly examined in prior research. It discusses the characteristics of and reasons for these changes, linking them to the overall characteristics of the illustrations included in the Tōshisen Ehon.
Additionally, the paper explores how several illustrated editions of the Tōshisen published during the Meiji period imitated the illustrations from the Tōshisen Ehon and analyzes the distinctive features of these imitations.論文departmental bulletin pape
