    PENGARUH MODEL INKUIRI TERBIMBING DIPADU KOOPERATIF JIGSAW TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN AKADEMIK

    ABSTRACT – The purposes of this research are to ascertain: 1) the influence of Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model toward science process skills, 2) the influence of academic ability toward science process skills, 3) the interaction between Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model and academic ability toward science process skills. The research was quasi experiment research. The research was designed using pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. Experimental group applied Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model. Control group applied Conventional model. The populations of this research were all of 10th  degree students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The samples of this research were the students of X-1 as experiment group and X-3 as control group. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data was collected essay test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by Anacova. The research concluded that 1) application of Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model had significant effect toward science process skill, 2) the academic ability didn’t has significant effect toward science process skill, 3) there was not interaction between Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model and academic ability toward science process skills.     ABSTRACT – This research is aimed to know relationship between: 1)  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student’s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012,  2) EQ  (Emotional Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student’s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012, 3)  IQ  (Intelligence Quotient),  EQ  (Emotional Quotient), and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student’s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012. This was a correlational research. The population were all of the students first grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012.  The sample was taken among 74 samples of student using  simple random  sampling technique.  Documentation technique was used to uncover student’s cognitive learning achievement, while  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dan EQ  (Emotional Quotient) was measured by using test technique. The obtained data was analysed using linier regression analysis in SPSS 17. The result showed that (1) there is correlation  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student’s  grade  of  SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012, 2) there is correlation EQ (Emotional Quotient)  and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of first student’s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012,  3) there is correlation both of  IQ  (Intelligence Quotient)  and  EQ  (Emotional Quotient) with cognitive learning achievement of biology of first student’s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012.  The  three aforementioned correlation are considered as significant and positive valuable.  In addition  the results  showed that  relative  contribution  of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology  is 48.6%,  relative  contribution  of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 51.4%, Effective contribution of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 7.63%, effective contribution of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology  is 8.07%, total effective contribution both of IQ and EQ are15.7% Keywords:  IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient),cognitive learning achievement in biology, linier regression analysi

    ABSTRACT – This research is aimed to  know effect  of implementation  strategy Guided Note Taking (GNT)  with optimalized learning  equipment  towards  biology  learning achievement. This research held upon senior high school student of SMA kebakkramat in academic year 2011/2012. Guided Note Taking (GNT)  with optimalized  learning  equipment  was expected to be more effective rather than if use convensional method. All student of SMA Kebakkramat had been chosen as a research population. Since, not all student was not attending biological class, hence, randomly, 2 clusters were selected representing the control class (for where the experimental treatment was not carried out) and the experimental class for where the  Guided Note Taking (GNT)  with optimalized learning equipment was applied upon. Quasy-experimental method was designed to achieve the stated research objectives following the quantitative paradigm used in this research. In addition, Randomized Subjects Posstest Only Control Group Design  was used as a research design to facilitate the data collection procedures. The data were collected using several techniques namely, questionnaire,  posttest with multiple choice, observation tools and related document. The final obtained data were then analyzed using t- test method. The results of this research showed that the implementation of the strategy has significantly affected the  biology  learning achievement.  It has been proven to have an impact towards cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects.     ABSTRACT – It already been  known that biology as a branch of science will emphasizes on  how to think critically to gain most of its basic concepts. Hence, the weaknesses of mastering this kind of skill will be followed by the unsuccessful mastering of its concepts respectively. Factual phenomenon observed towards high school student of the grade of  XI of Assalam Islamic Boarding School in academic year  2011/2012 showed  that student performing a teacher centered classical learning. Student has never induced and  motivated to be a real learner. This, makes student are unable to perform good critical thinking skill. This is real problem in this class that needs to be solved trough particular strategy.  Blended learning is expected to be an effective strategy since  it facilitates both, student centered learning and optimizing the use of ICT based learning. This research is aimed to ascertain 1) blended learning implementation in biological learning process, 2) blended learning implementation in biological learning process. This research belongs to classroom action research  consist of four cycle and each have four phases, namely planning, actuating, observing and reflecting. The subject of the research is XI IPA 4 Putra students at SMA RSBI Pondok Pesantren Modern Islam Assalaam Sukoharjo in academic year 2011/2012. The data was collected by test and non test technique, it was carried out by using essay test,  observation sheet, questionnaire, and interview. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive approach and validated through triangulation method. The results showed that the average percentage of critical thinking aspect from essay test, such as the 1st cycle 56,82%, the 2nd cycle 61,93%, the 3rd cycle 68,94% and the 4th  cycle 75,75%. Therefore, it can be concluded that 1) blended learning could be applied in biological learning process, 2) blended learning could be used to improve critical thinking.     ABSTRACT – The aim of the research was to know the influence of Group Investigation type (GI) of cooperative learning model toward science process skill and biology learning achievement of X degree students at SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012. The methodology of the research was quasi-experimental with quantitative approach. The research designs were post-test only control group by using experimental class (the implementation of Group Investigation (GI) of cooperative learning model) and control class (conventional learning). The population of this research is all of X degree students at SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta in 2011/2012 academic year. The  sample was taken by using cluster random sampling technique, with the result that XB  class as experimental group and XA class as control group. The technique of collecting data used test, observation paper and the school document. The data was analyzed by using t-test. This research concluded that Group Investigation type (GI) of cooperative learning model was significantly effective toward science process skill and biology learning achievement of X degree students at SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012.     ABSTRACT – This research purposed to know the influence of learning  PBI+STAD towards higher level of social and thinking skill of 10th  grade students in SMA Negeri Colomadu school year 2011/2012.  PBI+STAD  are combined learning models of syntax PBI on STAD. This research is a  quasi experimental  research using  Posttest Only Control Group Design. The independent variable was the model of PBI+STAD learning. The dependent variable is the higher order thinking and social skill of students. General population is all 10th  grade students from second semester in SMA Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar school year 2011/2012. The sampling technique used Cluster random Sampling. Samples in this research are class X-2 as an experiment class using a model of PBI+STAD and the class X-7 as a control class using models of learning that vary with lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. The technique of data collection of higher order thinking skill used technique test. The measurement of social skill used a questionnaire.  Prerequisite test analysis consisted of normality test and homogeneity test. Normality test was done with Kolmogorov Smirnov method. Normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed. Homogeneity test applied Levene’s Test. The result showed that all groups are homogeneous. Data analysis technique for testing of hypothesis in this research is t-test with the aid of SPSS program version 16 significance level 5%. The result showed that higher order thinking are t0 > ttabel = 2.00 > 0.104 and social skill are t0 > ttabel = 2.00 > 1.51. The research concluded that  (1) PBI+STAD learning model does not affect the higher order thinking skills in 10th  grade students in  SMA  Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar,  (2) PBI+STAD  learning model does not affect the social skills in 10th grade students in SMA Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar.     ABSTRACT – The  aims of the research were  to find out  the correlation  between: 1) memory ability with cognitive learning achievement of biology of student of SMA Negeri 2 Madiun in academic year of 2011/2012, 2) learning motivation of biology with cognitive learning achievement  of biology  of student  of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun in academic year of 2011/2012,3) memory ability and learning motivation of biology with  cognitive learning achievement  of student  of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun in academic year of 2011/2012. This  is  a correlational research.  The population  taken  were all of the students of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012. The sample was taken among  676  samples of student using  stratified  random sampling technique.  Documentation technique was used to uncover student’s  cognitive learning achievement  and memory ability was measured by using testtechnique. While learning motivation of biology was measured by using questionnaire technique.  The obtained data was analysed using linier regression analysis in SPSS 16. The results  showed that (1)  there was a  positive  correlation between memory ability with cognitive learning achievement of biology ofstudentof SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012, 2)  there was a  positive correlation between  learning motivation of biology  with  cognitive learning achievement  of biology ofstudentof SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012,  3)  there was a  positive  correlation between  memory ability  and learning motivation of biology with  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of student of SMA Negeri  2 Madiun  in academic year of 2011/2012.  Each of independent  variable, that is  memory ability  and  learning motivation of biology has contribution to dependent variable, that is  cognitive  learning achievement of biology.     ABSTRACT – The purpose  of this study  is to  determine the influence  of Guided Discovery learning methods toward science process skill in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali in academic year 2011/2012. This research was quasi experiment and posttest only control group design was used as a research design. Guided Discovery learning method was independent variables and science skill process was dependent variable. Student of class X of SMA Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali as a population. The samples of this research were the students of class X-1 as the experimental group and students of class X-3 as the control group. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling.  Data was collected using test and observation. The data were analyzed using t-test method.     ABSTRACT – The aim of this research was to improve creative thinking skill of students in class X-10 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta year 2011/2012, which consist of 5 aspect, fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration and evaluation. Classroom Action Research was used in this research, which has four phases, they are  planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data of the research were collected by using observation sheet, test, questionare, and interview. The data were analyzed by qualitative descriptive method. The validity of data was verified through triangulation technique of data collecting method. The results showed the percentage of every aspect of creative thinking skills based test on a first cycle have not gain thet targets, achievement of Fluency aspect is 69,70%, then 63.64% for Flexibility, 47.73% for Originality, 56.82% for Elaboration, and 49.24% for Evaluation. The results of the second cycle  increased, but there are aspects that have not reached the target. Result for each aspect was 79.55% for Fluency, 73.11% for Flexibility, Originality of 54.55%, 60.23% for Elaboration, and Evaluation of 57.58%. All aspects have not fulfill of the target yet, so the action continued to third cycle. The results achieved in the third cycle, Fluency aspects of 85.86%, 78.03% for flexibility, 63.64% for Originality, 60.23% for Elaboration, and Evaluation of 62.12%. All aspects of creative thinking skills already outreach the target, so the action was stopped. The conclusion of this research described that the Problem Based learningn (PBL) improve creative thinking skill in biology subject learning of students at class X-10 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta year 2011/2012.     ABSTRACT – The purpose of this study was determine the effectiveness of Guided Discovery method application toward creative thinking skill of the tenth grade  students  of  SMA N  1 Teras Boyolali In The Academic Year  2011/2012. This study was a quasi-experimental study using Posttest Only Control Design as a research design. The population in this study was the students of tenth grade in the second semester of  SMA N 1 Teras Boyolali in the Academic Year 2011/2012. The sampling technique used Cluster Random Sampling. The collecting data were by test and non test. The datas were analysed by t-test. The result of the research showed that the Guided Discovery application method has an effect on students' science process skill. The highest aspect average of creative thinking skill in the experiment class was obtained in elaboration aspect that is 88.05%, while the lowest in fluency aspect is 83.2%. Based on the sequence of the aspects of creative thinking skill from the highest to the lowest. In details, the creative thinking skill was measured by elaboration : 88.05%, flexibility : 86.56%, originality : 86.56%, fluency : 83.25%. Whereas in the control class, the sequence from the highest to the lowest is flexibility : 74.25%, elaboration : 71.64%, fluency : 70.9%, originality : 69.4%. The conclusion of this research was Guided Discovery learning method was had significantly affecting the creative thinking skill on X grade of SMA Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali.
