THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CLL BY USING VOICE MEMO IN TEACHING SPEAKING
Community Language Learning (CLL) is one of the methods in teaching language which involves the roles of the teacher as a counselor and the learner as the client in the language classroom. This research describes the implementation of Community Language Learning (CLL ) by using Voice Memo in teaching speaking, and the benefits as well as the obstacles of implementing CLL by using Voice Memo in teaching speaking. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Warungkondang, the participants were 30 students and a teacher. The research used qualitative method which employed several techniques in collecting the data those are classroom observation, questionnaire, and interview. The finding shows that CLL could be implemented with some adjustments from the teacher, in this case the teacher implemented six stages, those were grouping and translating, recording, collecting and transcribing, listening and correcting, repeating, and tasking. The learning process in the classroom indicates that the teacher and students were equal, in other words, the teacher was not the center. There were many benefits of CLL including communicative and active activity, students have more self initiative and self confidence to use their own English, they were enthusiastic in class when they were using their phone as a tool in learning process. However the researcher found out several obstacles in CLL implementation in the clasroom such as classroom environment (e.g. noisy), students’ less interest in English, and lack of facilities to support CLL. The result of those finding indicates that CLL can be one of the alternative in teaching speaking, however the school needs to support facilities.

THE LECTURERS’ IMMEDIACY ATTRIBUTES AND STUDENTS’ WILLINGNESS TO COMMUNICATE, ARE THEY CORRELATED?
The purposes of this research were two-fold: first, to see whether or not lecturers’ immediacy behaviors were linearly related to their students’ Willingness to Communicate (WTC); second, to determine which immediacy behavior (Verbal or Nonverbal) predominantly impacted on students’ WTC. To achieve the purposes, two types of questionnaires were utilized, 1) students’ WTC and 2) lecturers’ immediacy. Later, the participants were asked to choose 1–5 scales of question item. There were 122 EFL public university students from the Western part of Indonesia who partook in this study. They were involved voluntarily and chosen randomly. For data analysis, the bivariate calculation was applied to find the associations between the variables tested. Thus, SPSS 26 was utilized to meet the statistical analysis required. The result showed that the lecturers’ immediacy behavior was positively and strongly correlated to the students’ WTC with a correlation value of 0.716. However, if compared to nonverbal, lecturers’ verbal traits had given the strongest positive association. It was described by Pearson correlation value found, 0.689 (verbal) and 0.502 (nonverbal). Exploring English Skill Problems of Engineering Students for Evaluating Their Needs
Despite the existence of many studies on English skills in the classroom context, little scholarly work reports English skill problems for engineering students. To fill this gap, this current study explores English skill problems of engineering students for evaluating their needs. This study was conducted at a national institute of technology in India. The data were collected through administering questionnaires. The study indicates that the engineering students feel the most difficulty in making presentations individually (speaking). They also have difficulty in listening, especially in understanding lectures. Further, the obstacle in writing reveals that the engineering students more frequently encountered difficulty in transferring information from visual to verbal and using correct punctuation during the writing activity. It is surprising in reading skill that the students do not encounter a big problem in reading. Moreover, they state that reading is very important to success in their courses of study. The findings suggest that although reading is keeping to be taught extensively, the lecturer should foster students more in listening, speaking, and writing skills in the teaching learning process
