    VALUES OF DAKWAH IN HABIBURRAHMAN EL SHIRAZY NOVEL (Genetic Stucturalism Study)

    The purpose of this research is to know the values ​​of dakwah in novel Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This research is done by using qualitative approach with descriptive method. Data are collected through reading as critically, deeply and thorough, record-keeping, coding, and identification. Data analyzed were interpreted in terms of theme, plot, character and characterization, and background. The corner of the social background of society in the novel, the viewpoint of the author's world. The results of this study find the forms of dakwah values ​​in this novel structure include Muamalah which includes law, education, politics, economy, family, social, and culture; Worship which includes syahdat, sholat, puas, zakat, and haji; Aqidah which includes believing in God, believing in angels, believing in the book, believing in apostles, believing in the last day, and believing in qodo and qodar. The findings of this research should be recommended to be a study of literature appreciation in schools and universities and need to be disseminated to the community to support the implementation of the formation of Islamic character and apply dakwah values

    THE EFFECTS OF LEARNING MODELS AND LINGUISTIC INTELLIGENCE ON THE PERSUASIVE WRITING SKILL

    The objective of this study is to know the effects of learning models (problem solving and project based learning) and linguistic intelligence  on the students of persuasive writing skill of the fourth semester students  of English Department, State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya Palembang, in the academic year of 2016-2017. The writer used linguistic intelligence test and persuasive writing test to collect the data. The data was analyzed  statistically by using two-factor ANOVA at 0.05 significance level. The results of this study showed that (1) The students’ persuasive writing skill taught through problem solving was higher than those who were  taught through project based learning. (2) There was interaction effect between learning models and linguistic intelligence toward persuasive writing skill of the fourth semester students of English Department, State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya Palembang. (3) The students’ persuasive writing skill who were taught by using problem solving and having high linguistic intelligence is higher than those who were taught through  project based learning and having high linguistic intelligence. (4)  The students’ persuasive writing skill who were taught through  problem solving and having low linguistic intelligence is lower than those who were taught through project based learning and having low linguistic intelligence

    IMPROVING SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE WRITING SKILL THROUGH COLLABORATIVE WRITING LEARNING TECHNIQUE

    The purpose of this research is to improve scientific writing skills through collaborative learning writing techniques students of Language and Literature Education STKIP PGRI Indonesia West Sumatra. This research is an action using Elliot action model consists of seven stages, namely the identification of the first step, findings and analysis of the facts, general planning, action, action observation, evaluation of the implementation of the action, and reflection and improvement. This research was conducted in three cycles. Sources of data in this study are students Session B Language Study Program and Literature Indonesia PGRI STKIP West Sumatra, class of 2014. The data were processed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study during three cycles showed an increase in the average value of scientific writing skills through collaborative learning writing techniques at the end of the test. The average value of the test in cycle 1 is 56.56. The average value of the test in cycle 2 was 69.64. The average value of the test in cycle 3 is 81 The average value of the test show that collaborative learning writing techniques can improve students' academic writing skills. &nbsp

    This study aims to find out how the learning model of moodle-based academic writing in Indonesian subjects required by students at Sriwijaya University in terms of students and lecturers. The method used in this study is research and development (Research and Development as proposed by Borg and Gall.Teknik data collection in the analysis of this need is a questionnaire, library review, interviews, and focus group discussion.The results show first, an instructional model of academic writing in the Moodle-based Indonesian language should refer to the Signs of Group Work Subjects Personality development in universities, the principle -The principle of learning based on KKNI, the principle of learning to write, and the principle of learning E-Learning.Second, the results showed that the shortcomings contained in the learning of academic writing in Indonesian language courses caused this lesson does not refer to Student Group Conduct Signs Personality development in universities, principles of learning based on KKNI, and the principle of learning to write maximally In addition, most lecturers do not use E-Learning learning that has been facilitated by the university. Third, the results of the study show that the learning model of academic writing in Indonesian language is needed is a learning model that applies the principles of learning in accordance with KKNI, the principles of learning to write, and the principles of E-Learning learning by adapting to the characteristics of the language courses Indonesia for college.     The purpose of this research to examine the influence of learning models and learning styles to the skills of writing narrative essay students of the second semester of the Indonesian Language Studies Program University PGRI Palembang. This research used experimental method with two way ANAVA design with level of α = 0,05. This study shows the result that; (1) Student narrative writing skills taught by PBL models are better than those taught by the TBL model, (2) Student narrative writing skill with FI learning style is better than those who study with FD learning style, (3) interaction Between learning models, learning styles, and narrative writing skills, (4) The results of the writing skills of students who have Field Independent learning styles and learning styles with PBL learning models are better than their narrative writing skills that have Field Independent learning styles and learning with learning models TBL, (5) The result of students writing skill with Field Dependent learning style and learning with PBL learning model is not better than their learning style having Field Dependent learning style and learning TBL learning model. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the PBL learning model is more effective than the learning model of TBL in learning narrative writing skills. Learning styles can also influence narrative writing skills because of the interaction between learning models, learning styles and narrative writing skills

    ENGLISH INTRODUCTION THROUGH DIGITAL STORYTELLING IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

    The introduction of simple English sentences to early childhood is not an easy task. This is often a problem for teachers. The purpose of this study is to investigate the introduction of the English language by using a digital storytelling. This research is an action research. Subjects of research include 20 children from group B (5-6 years) of Happy Kids Kindergarten in Palembang. The finding shows that there is an enhancement  in pre-cycle is 33%, to 59% in Cycle I. In Cycle II is 79% and  in Cycle III is 97%. Thus, an increase of 26% from the pre-cycle to cycle I. Increased 20% from Cycle I to Cycle II and increased 18% from Cycle II to Cycle III. The result of the English introduction action through digital storytelling in early childhood shows a significant percentage increase from cycle I to cycle II, and cycle III. The increase in percentage indicates that the use of digital storytelling can improve the process and the results of early childhood English introduction in terms of meaning, show, imitate, and say simple English sentences Therefore, digital storytelling based learning can be incorporated in the curriculum of Kindergarten. &nbsp

    The objective of this research is an analysis of a novel by Zara Zettira entitled "Every Silence has a Story". The novel, which is wrote by adapted of Zara Zettira live itself and with the fiction’s factor’s.Qualitatifapproah with analyziz content method.  This novel describe about the woman’s struggle in solving her live problems. The problems of her research are (1) what are her confrontation with the problems in her adult life? (2) What are the influence of her childhood situation to her life? (3) What are her ways in coping with the problems? The writer discusses those problems by using psychological and sociological approach. The writer finds the theories and data that would make the proven by using a library research way and browsing in the internet. The results of her analysis are: (1) she tried to find Factors of Zaira's silence (2) The influence of Zaira's childhood situation to her adult stages then and (3) Last, the adaptation to Zaira's complicated life

    This study was aimed to get a picture of creative writing learning in the 4th grade of Sekolah AlamTangerang. This research used an ethnography method. The data were collected through observation, documentation, and interview. The research showed that: (1) The type of syllabus used was a syllabus referring to the SAT curriculum and national curriculum. (2) The formulation of learning objectives was the maturity in creative writing. (3) The materials developed by the teachers included learning to write journal or book report, poem, comic, and article. (4) The strategies, approaches, methods, and techniques used refer to experience from the natural environment. (5) The roles of teachers and students in learning were equally important. (6) The most important infrastructures and learning media were nature-based. (7) The evaluation system used was more concerned with daily assessment. Overall, the creative learning process at the 4th grade of Sekolah Alam Tangerang forms its own cultural theme; that is nature-based learning. &nbsp

    DEFENSE AND REVITALIZATION OF MALAY LANGUAGE

    The purpose of this research is to describe in depth about Palembang Malay language defense in Palembang. Data analysis was done by using the method of ethnography according to Spradley with progressive stretching sequence (developmental research sequence Spradley). Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observation, field notes, document studies, questionnaires, and photography. The steps taken by the researcher are (1) the determination of focus, (2) the submission of questions, (3) data collection, (4) analyzing and interpreting data. Further data analysis technique is done using Spradley (ethnography) model. Researchers analyzed field data collected from observations of participants to find questions. Furthermore, researchers analyzed field notes. There are four types of analysis: domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, component analysis and theme analysis. Based on the results of the analysis can be concluded that all domains still use Palembang Malay language in everyday life. Nevertheless on the research findings, researchers also found some vocabulary that has been rarely used in the conversation / daily communication of Palembang Malay society. Factors that threaten the existence of Palembang Malay language is the entry of immigrants from the outside, the natives of Palembang who moved to other areas, marriage antardaerah Palembang city. Efforts that can be made for the defense and revitalization of Palembang Malay language is to make Palembang Malay as a subject in school, menghidupuburkan Palembang Malay language use in the mass media and support from the local government for Palembang Malay language defense by creating a special law that discusses the use of language Malay Palembang so that it can continue to survive and develop so avoid the extinction

    A research and development of teaching materials will focus on the development of textbook products in accordance with the needs of students, lecturers and also majors. Culture and literature knowledge that has been studied in Mandarin Darma Persada University program is not maximal and in accordance with the needs of students. So to adjust to the needs of these students making these teaching materials using the theme of contextual Chinese and cultural literature-based. To test the effectiveness of the model researchers have conducted experimental teaching materials to read the works of literature and culture-based Mandarin contextual, research conducted using the theory of experimental pre so that only implemented in one class reading 5 faculty of Chinese language and culture of Darma Persada University in academic year 2016/2017 in Jakarta. Respondents of the study were 18 students who had mastered Mandarin well, the results of this study indicate that T count (4.060) is greater than T table (2.101), thus it can be concluded that this significant mean difference means Ho is rejected and H1 be accepted. Thus the teaching material model of reading the literature and culture culture of Mandarin based on contextual is more effective in improving students' reading skill in semester 5
