BILINGUALISM OF LANGUAGE LEARNING IN ISLAMIC SCHOOL (ETHNOGRAPHIC RESEARCH IN DAARUL RAHMAN ISLAMIC SCHOOL I, SOUTH JAKARTA)
The aims of this research are to examine deeply the process of bilingualism language learning, the environment of language learning bilingualism, the teacher’s involvement of teachers of bilingualism language learning, the students’ participation in the bilingualism language learning and the evaluation of bilingualism language learning in Daarul Rahman I Islamic Schools, South Jakarta. This a qualitative research with the ethnographic approach. The informants in this study are age-level of High School students. The method of data collection is done by observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study shows that the learning process of Arabic language and English in the neighborhood of Daarul Rahman I Islamic School is a tradition experiences the development of suitable students and science in the millennial. In addition, the environment of language learning is very conducive. The involvement of teachers in language learning rise learning culture which is integrated and student-centered. While, the involvement of students in language learning belongs to communicative learning and culture rise to active and disciplined in speaking. THE PRAXIS OF HONESTY BUILDING AT SMPN 1 PEKANBARU
This study is aimed to investigate the praxis of honesty building in teaching and learning activities at SMPN 1 Pekanbaru. The data of this study were teacher and students activities in English classroom which were gathered by using observation and interview. The results showed that teacher and students have embarked the honesty praxis which is theoretically stated in Kompetensi Inti 2 in 2013 Curriculum by stimulating the aspects of responsibility, trustworthy, and discipline frequently at the main stage. There was a consistency showed by teacher and students in practicing the honesty as presented when the teacher gave instructions to close the book then all students followed it without any disobedience and it explained the concept of praxis is a reflection activity which bring theory into practice. It concludes that English teaching and learning activities at SMPN 1 Pekanbaru have contributed in the praxis of honesty.

APPLICATION OF STORYTELLING TECHNIQUES IN IMPROVING SPEAKING SKILLS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Learning to speak is one of the obstacles experienced by students of class III MIS Darul Ulum Muhammadiyah Bulukumba. These obstacles appear from a lack of vocabulary, fluency, and understanding. Therefore, this study aims to improve students' speaking skills through the application of storytelling techniques. The research conducted is action research which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and speaking tests, while the data analysis is done descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study indicate that during the application of storytelling techniques there is an increase in speaking skills that appear from the assessment indicators, which include: pressure, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and understanding. The results of the acquisition in the first cycle of 65.33 and an increase in cycle 2 of 73.78. Increased learning outcomes from cycle 1 to cycle 2 indicate that storytelling can have a positive impact on learning to speak
RELIGIOSITY OF THE CHARACTERS IN NOVEL API TAUHID BY HABIBURRAHMAN EL SHIRAZY (A SEMIOTIC STUDY)
The objective of this research was to understand comprehensively about religiosity of the characters in novel Api Tauhid by Habiburrahman El Shirazy based on a semiotic study. It was a qualitative research with content analysis method. The data were collected through literature study, observed matters related to the religiosity of the characters in novel Api Tauhid by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The data analysis and interpretation include semiotic studies use the theory of Pierce seen from the dimensions of faith, Islam, and ihsan(virtue). The sense of faith can be seen from unity of God, Islam can be seen from the worship performed by the characters, and ihsan can be seen from the behavior and deeds of the characters. This research is expected to be useful in the process of learning language and literature, especially in the use of semiotic methods to facilitate students to understand literature and language
THE USE OF ENGLISH INTRODUCTION LANGUAGE IN LEARNING IN MONTESSORI INDONESIA PRESCHOOL
The use of English introduction language in learning has been found in educational institutions. Although this is very contrary to the law of kemendikbud that Indonesian must be used as the language of instruction in national education, but now it has developed rapidly schools that use English as the medium of instruction in the learning process, even starting from the level of preschool. This phenomenon occurs in the Preschool Indonesia is Montessori Preschool Indonesia where the school includes public schools. This school is a school that uses the English language of instruction, located in the sub-district of Matraman Jakarta Timur among other schools. Preschool Indonesia Montessori was established in 2005. Montessori Indonesia's preschool already uses English as the language of instruction in its early learning. Since its inception this school has produced graduates of students who are independent and confident in communicating using English. In addition, Montessori's Indonesian preschool uses Montessori's method of learning. This is what distinguishes with the existing preschool
JAPANESE LEARNING AT SMA NEGERI 30 JAKARTA (Ethnography Research)
This research is aimed to get a deep understanding towards Japanese learning in 30 Senior High School in Jakarta. This research uses qualitative approach with ethnography method. This research was done in the 9th grade for 4 months, from Dec 2017 until March 2018. The data was gained from observation, interview, field note and documentation right from the location of the research. The data was analysed by using Spradley model, consisting of culture domain, taxonomy, components and theme. The source of research to get the data is from Japanese teacher and all things related with the process of Japanese learning. The teacher and students play an important role during the process of learning. The results of the research are: 1) The four objectives which need to be achieved in Japanese learning are : listening skill (choukai), speaking (kaiwa), reading (dokkai), and writing (sakubun) and so that the students have selling point when they are about to work. 2) The curriculum being used is 2013 curriculum. 3) The teaching material being used by the teacher is adjusted with the text book which is sakura book, supporting book and the syllabus. 4) the teaching strategy and the method is lecturing, exercises, assignments based on theme. 5) media used such as tapes, picture cards, learning CD, japanesse language and culture DVD. 6) evaluation of processes and outcomes
THE PERSONALITY OF MAIN CHARACTER IN THE FILM SERIES NOBUTA WO PRODUCE BY IZUMI KIZARA (A CARL GUSTAV JUNG’S PSYCHOANALYTIC APPROACH)
This research aimed to obtain a deep depiction of personality type on the main character in the film series: Nobuta wo Produce by Izumi Kizara. Film series Nobuta wo Produce is a television drama series adapted from novel with the same title by Gen Shiraiwa. This research was conducted using content analysis method. This research data was analyzed through psychoanalytic by Carl Gustav Jung approach. The data were collected through documents, and data observations about the main character personality in film series: Nobuta wo Produce by Izumi Kizara. The result showed that Kiritani Shuuji as the main character of film series: Nobuta wo Produce by Izumi Kizara has two tendencies of the dominant personality type, thinking introvert type and feeling ekstravert type. The result lead to recommendation to Japanese literature educator, literature researcher, film review, and parents
ANALYSIS OF STUDENT'S CRITICAL THINKING IN WRITING ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAYS
The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate, classify, and analyse critical thinking in student's writing argumentative essays. The method used in this research is qualitative content analysis using the approach of Facione’s (2009) holistic critical thinking scoring rubric (HCTSR). Data collection technique used in this study is by document observation of English education department students’ blog-texts about teacher’s welfare in Indonesia, in one of private universities in West Jawa, Indonesia. Data obtained are from students’ writing emails submissions tasks; then, the data are analyzed by the researcher qualitatively based on coding frame document of writing. The results of this study indicate that in the the level of student’s critical thinking in writing varies demonstrated by the students
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING THINK PAIR SHARE STRATEGY IN TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
This study aimed to know the implementation of Cooperative learning Think Pair Share Strategy and students' response to teaching reading comprehension at SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Baru. This study used survey method with a qualitative approach. A qualitative research sample was not taken at random but instead, have to follow certain criteria. The Implementation of Think Pair Share strategy was in accordance with theory suggested by experts in cooperative learning, namely; 1) phase (Think) that leads students to think; 2) phase (pair) that leads students to work together and interact with each other; and 3) phase (share) Here students gain meaningful learning experience, they are accustomed to speaking in front of people, so the students who previously shy being personally brave and confident. Student response was very positive towards learning, students were active, enjoy and focus on learning. Cooperative learning arranges as an effort to increase student participation, facilitating students with experience, leadership attitudes and make decisions in groups that helpful for the students' lives outside of school
STUDENT’S EFFORTS TO SUCCEED IN ENGLISH CLASS : A CASE STUDY ON A STUDENT WITH LOW-INCOME BACKGROUND AT SMK JAKARTA PUSAT I
This case study was aimed at describing what efforts have been undergone by a low-income student to succeed in English class. The participant of this study was a student who received Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) at SMK Jakarta Pusat 1. The data of this study were collected through observation, interview and document analysis. The data were analysed qualitatively by rereading all the data carefully and coding the data based on research question. The findings show that the low-income student has employed three kinds of effort: rule-oriented, procedural and intellectual efforts to succeed in English class. The rule oriented effort was done by attending class regularly, the procedural effort was undergone by completing the assignments consistently, turning the assignment in the time frame and building engagement in the process of learning. The intellectual effort was done by actively thinking to do the best work of her ability at all times. And then, she has implemented the procedural effort at outside of school such as at home and library by completing the assignment continuously. These efforts have made her gain a significant achievement in learning English as shown in her good score in English class. To conclude, it is proven that short of resources, facilities and income are not contributor to failure.
