    Influence of Incresment Kappaphycus alvarezi Porridge Toward Elops hawaiensis Meatballs Characteristic

    Hawaiian Ladyfish (Elops hawaiensis) can be used as raw material for fish gel (jellyfish product) due to its white fleshy and high protein. One of the diversified fisheryproducts are fish meatballs. This product is an effort to diversify from ladyfish forincrease domestic fish consumption. The addition of seaweed porridge Kappaphycusalvarezii mush on fish meatballs ladyfish expected to improve the quality ofmeatballs. The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of fish ballshawaiian ladyfish (Elops hawaiensis) with the addition of seaweed porridgeKappaphycus alvarezii and find out the nutritional value of Hawaiian ladyfishmeatballs. Addition seaweed porridge concentration used in making meatballs is 0%,5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. The experimental design used was a completelyrandomized design with two replications. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance(ANOVA) and Duncan test further. Fish meatballs with the addition of a slurry ofseaweed porridge Kappaphycus alvarezii 10% is the best fish balls with organolepticcharacteristics sighting value (6.58), texture (6.47), flavor (6.22), color (6.33), aroma(6.02); and the value of physical characteristics such as folding test (4.83), bite test(7.26), gel strength (802.55 gf.cm); and chemical characteristics such asmoisture content (68.60% w/w), ash content (1.39% w/w), protein content (12.42%w/w), fat (1,10% w/w), and levels of dietary fiber (4,98% w/w)

    Dunaliella is a green microalgae that produces carotenoids, one of the carotenoid typesproduced is β-carotene which accumulated in very high amounts in some stressfulconditions such as nitrogen limitations, high salinity and exposure high light intensity.Leucaena leucocephala is one of the natural ingredients that  potential as a source ofnutrition of Dunaliella sp. growth. The aim of this study was to determine the effect ofdifferent salinity in Lamtoro Leaves Extract Media on growth and carotenoid contentDunaliella sp. The research was conducted in Aquaculture Laboratory, AgricultureFaculty, Lampung University. The design of research was used completely randomizeddesign with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatments used was Lamtoro Leaves extract media with salinity  30 ppt, 35 ppt, 40 ppt, and 45 ppt. The result showed thatmedia of Lamtoro Leaves extract with different salinity gave significant effect on celldensity and carotenoid content of Dunaliella sp. (p<0,05). The results of this studyshowed that the best cell growth occurred in the treatment of salinity 30 ppt with celldensity reached 5,09×106cells/ml, while the highest carotenoid content was produced at35 ppt salinity treatment of 1,0668 g/m

    Length Frequencies of the ladyfish Elops hawaiensis has grouping the ladyfish into the fingerling, young fish and adults fish. The effect of length-weight relationship was negative allometric. This condition revealed that the length growth of the ladyfish more dominant than their weight growth. Analysis of the condition factors showed that the K value was 4.19 for the Kronjo, 4.18 for Mauk and 42.06 for Domas village, respectively. It may be concluded that the environmental factors in the northern coast of Banten Province was suitable for the growth of the ladyfish

    Characteristic of Nata de Seaweed with Different Concetrations of Bacteria Acetobacter xylinum

    Nata is a food which is obtained from the fermentation by the bacteria A. xylinum which has a chewy, transparent and soft texture. Seaweed can be used as a media in making nata because the content of carbon source for bacterial growth. The purpose of this research was to determine the concentration of optimum bacteria in producing the best nata de seaweed. The research was conducted on September-October 2016 at the Laboratory of Fishery Products Processing Technology, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa and Laboratory of Seafast Center Quality and Food Safety, Bogor Agricultural University. The treatment was about the difference of A. xylinum bacteria concentration (5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5% and 15%). The parameters were physical analysis (rendemen and thickness), chemical(hard fiber content and water content) and organoleptic test (appearance, flavor, colour,aromaand texture). This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two replication.the result of  research showed that nata de seaweed with the best treatment 5% produced has an average yield values betwen 16.15g/L, thickness 0.41 cm, content of crude 5.86%, content of water 99.21%, appearance 3.83%, flavor 3.17%, colour 4.13%, aroma 3.13%, texture 3.67%. It can be concluded that the treatment of bacterial concentration with 5% was the best treatment in producing an appropriate characteristic of nata de seaweed

    Determination of Aquatic Weed for Shelter in Rearing Juvenile Snakehead Channa striata in Pond

    A seed of Snakehead Channa striata has characterization an aggressive and or moving as well. One effort to suppress the aggressive nature is through the use of shelter (shelter) of aquatic weeds water hyacinth in maintenance ponds. Therefore, an experiment in aim of evaluation wide water hyacinth for shelter pond to increase growth and survival of Snakehead Channa striata juvenile was conducted. The treatment were various aquatic weeds are: water cabbage Pistia stratiotes, Azolla Azolla piñata, and water hyacinth Eichornoa crassipes. Snakehead juvenile of 5 ± 0.02 cm in total body length and 4 ± 0.01 g in weight were stocked in 9 experimental ponds at 100 juvenile / m3 (350 juvenile / pond). Artificial diet of 33% protein was fed on the juvenile at a rate 5% of biomass a day. Rearing period was conducted for four months. The experimental results showed shelter very important for rearing juvenile Snakehead. The best shelter of aquatic weed in snakehead pond culture was at water hyacinth with survival rate 78.00±2.11% and feed efficiency of 30.8 ± 1.22%. This result could be reffered in snakehead nursery in pond

    The addition of prebiotics to the diet can increase the availability of enzyme in thedigestive tract of fish. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the different dose ofprebiotic to the growth and nutrition retention of tilapia. Four treatment and 3 replicates,namely: control (0% prebiotic), 1% prebiotic, 2% prebiotic and 3% prebiotic were usedin the experiment. The results showed that the addition of prebiotics in fed can promotebetter tilapia growth and nutrition retention compared to control. The highest specificgrowth rate was found in 2% prebiotic (4.10%), followed by 1% prebiotic (3.83%), 3%prebiotic (3.54%) and the lowest was in the control (3.34%) (P<0.05). The addition of2% prebiotics in the diet showed best result on promoting tilapia growth, feed efficiencyand nutritent retentio

    The Addition of Flour Kappaphycus alvarezii in Commercial Feed towards Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) Performance

    Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of fish that is suitable to be cultivated in floating net cages or in controlled containers, since tilapia is the omnivorous and is easily adjust to the environment. An artificial feeding in an intensive farming is one of the important supporting factor to increase production. Natural feed available could not meet the needs of fish, therefore in order to promote growth, it must be fulfilled by the artificial feed that could qualify nutrition. The research aims to observing the dose addition of flour Kappaphycus alvarezii in commercial feed to enhance the growth and the survival of O. niloticus. The usability of the research is the costs efficiency of feed and provides information on aspects of tilapia fish farming. The result of the research shows that daily specific growth rate performs that control treatment (0.94±0.14%) gives the best growth response compared to the treatment of seaweed flour 20% (0.06±0.04%), then is followed by the treatment of seaweed flour 5% (0.52±0.17). Further research statistic peforms that the control is significantly different to the treatment of seaweed flour 20% (p<0.05). For the best feed convertion ratio is in control (0.31±0.02) and the lowest is in the treatment of seaweed flour 20% (0.45±0.03). Then the best survival is in control treatment (80.00±0.00%), followed by treatment of seaweed flour 5% (76.670±0.00%) and the lowest survival is in treatment of seaweed flour 20% (63.33±0.06%)

    The Archipelagic Fishing Port of Karangantu is one of the central swimming crabs fishing in Banten Province. Traps is passive fishing gear that usually use bait to attract swimming crabs or other fish. The goals of this research are to analyze the influence of baits and it’s effectiveness to catch swimming crabs using collapsible trap. The research was conducted with experimental fishing using fresh common ponyfish, salted common ponyfish and fish offal as baits. This study was conducted at 20th January-11th April 2015. Data analyzed using a completely randomized design. The results show that the types of bait have significant effect to number and weight of swimming crabs into traps. Fresh common ponyfish baits have significant effect then other baits because it have high protein that which can produce odors to attract swimming crabs into come to traps

    Fishing Season of Large Pelagic Fish in Lempasing Coastal Fishing Port Lampung Province

    Large pelagic fish is one of a major fish that were caught by fishermen inLempasing Coastal Fishing Port. The large pelagic fish, landed in LempasingCoastal Fishing Port, are little tuna, king mackerel, great barracuda, needle fish,and trevally. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of productivityof large pelagic fish and to predicts large pelagic fishing season in LempasingCoastal Fishing Port. The study was conducted in March-July 2015. The methodwas descriptive method. The results showed that the level of productivity of largepelagic fish in Lempasing Coastal Fishing Port tend to fluctuate each year. Thehighest productivity occurred in 2010 amounted to 30.67 kg/trip and lowestproductivity occurred in 2011 amounted to 12.96 kg/trip. The peak fishing seasonof little tuna occur in August with index value 176.76%. The peak fishing seasonof king mackerel occur in Mei with index value 176.93%. The peak fishing seasonof great barracuda occur in March with index value 136.14%. The peak fishingseason of needle fish occur in December with index value 184.54%. The peakfishing season of trevally occur in December with index value 156.54%
