Assessement of Blue Swimming Crab (Portunnus pelagicus) Growth Overfishing at Banten Bay
This research was conducted in February-March 2018 at Banten Bay. The purpose of research is to determine to presence of growth overfishing of crab (Portunus pelagicus), to cover width-weight relationships, sex ratio, Gonad Maturity Rate (GMR), Length at First Capture (Lc) and Length at first maturity (Lm). The method used is market survey (observation on crab collectors). Temporary research result showed that width-weight relationships are allometrically positive. Sex ratio show a balance value. GMR is the dominant GMR III. Lc 11,26 cm male; 11,38 cm female and Lm 11,82 cm male; 9,30 cm female. Based on the data, it can be seen that the population of the male crabs more quickly decreased compared to the females. If these fishing conditions continue to happen in the long time. It will cause the growth overfishing, result the temporary loss of population and change the food chain
Effect of Dietary Supplementation of Spirulina Platensis and Carrot Meal to Enhance Color Brightness of Oranda Goldfish (Carassius Auratus)
Goldfish is one of the most famous ornamental fish because of body shape and the color which is interesting to culture. The purpose of this experiment is to find the effect of Spirulina platensis and carrot meal was added into feed to increase the red color of koki goldfish. The experiment used Completely Randomized Design with six treatments and three replication. The treatments is 8% Spirulina meal, 8% carrot meal, 0% spirulina meal + carrot meal, 2%+6%, 4%+4%, and 6%+2%. The parameters that observed is color intensity, absolute weight growth, and water quality. The results showed that supplementation of combination 4% spirulina meal and 4% carrot meal gave the best increase in red color on body of koki goldfish with average score 5.93, but no significant effect on growth of goldfish with average growth is 3.55 ± 0.06 gram. Water quality during the research is still in optimal condition and did not affect the enhancement color in goldfish
Utilization of Rice Bran Fermentation with Aspergillus niger on Feed Raw Material of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)
Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a type of aquaculture commodity that has high economic value. This research aims to know the effect of feeding of rice bran fermentation on feed raw material to the parameter digestibility and growth of tilapia. The used tilapia were sized 5.33 ± 0.00 g/fish with stocking density 15 fish/40 L (aquarium). Fish were fed three times daily in ad satiation. This study used three treatment with four replications, namely (A) commercial feed as control, (B) commercial feed with the addition of rice bran fermentation with Aspergillus niger, (C) commercial feed with the addition of rice bran without fermentation. The results showed that the feed (B) can improve nutrient digestibility and growth of tilapia with dry matter digestibility of 67,87 ± 2,44 %, protein digestibility of 85.04 ± 3.28 %, feed intake of 230 ± 4.08 g, final weight 11.81 ± 0.45 g, specific growth rate of 1.65 ± 0.40 % and survival rate of 75.00 ± 0.11 % compared to the other treatment

Inventory, Prevalence and Intensity of Ectoparasites at Groupers (Epinephelus sp.) in Floating Nets Hurun Bay Lampung
he limiting factor in aquaculture is disease. Ectoparasites is one of the disease ingrouper (Epinephelus sp.) cultivated using floating nets. In Hurun Bay Lampung, thereare many grouper cultivation using floating nets. This study aims to inventory the typesof ectoparasites that infect grouper, to determine the prevalence and intensity ofectoparasites. Sampling of grouper was done on March 30th to 31st and September 29Inventarisasi, prevalensi dan intensitas ektoparasit ….. 1 th to30th 2016 in floating nets owned by Mr. Untung and Mr. Asril in Hurun Bay Lampung.Random samples were taken with 25 fishes for each Grouper population. Identification ofectoparasites was conducted in the laboratory of FQIA Regional Lampung throughmorphological observation using a microscope. Three types of ectoparasites that wereidentified are Pseudorhabdosynochus sp., Haliotrema sp. and Benedenia sp. The range ofprevalence and intensity of Pseudorhabdosynochus sp., Haliotrema sp., and Benedenia sp. is respectively 0-32% (from 0 to 7.6 individu/fish), 0-28% (0-5 individu/fish), and12% (0 to 3.33 individu/fish)
The Influence of The Addition of Seagrass Litter Powder to The Compressive Strength and Water Absorption ff Eco-Brick
This research is made to knowing the influence of adding amount of seagrass to amountof sand on the compressive strength and the Eco-concrete bricks’s water absorbtion. Themethods used in this research is experiment with a sample of Eco-concrete bricks (20 x10 x 6) cm in adding 4 variation amount of seagrass . the first variation is without addingamount of seagrass (0%), second adding 5%, third adding 15%, and the fourth is adding25%. The examination compressive strength and water absorbtion is do to Eco-concretebricks 28 days age with ten times repetition and take the average number. The result ofthis examination show the number of compressive strength for each variation are 12.102MPa without adding amount of seagrass (0%), 11.011 MPa adding 5%, 7.6044 MPaadding 15%, and 5.3872 MPa adding 25%. The data for examination of water absorbtionare 12.439% without adding amount of seagrass (0%), 13.81% adding 5%, 15.215% adding 15%, and 16.019% adding 25%. The conclution is the more concentration adding amount of seagrass the less number of Eco-concrete bricks’s compressive strength andotherwise the less concentration adding amount of seagrass the less number of Ecoconcretebricks’swaterabsorbtionpower.Keywords : compressive strength, eco-concrete bricks, seagrass, water absorptio
Typology of Fisheries Sector and Income Disparities at Cirebon Regency
Development is directedactions to obtain a better quality of life. Development policy is intended to provide equity in the part of development, but the disparities between regions are still occur. The actual disparities are caused by potential distinct of Natural Resources (SDA) and demographic conditions which in the development process lead to uneven distribution of income per capita. This study aims to analyze the major disparities of coastal and non-coastal income in Cirebon Regency and analyze the position of the fishery sector as the economic base in Cirebon Regency in year 2011-2015. This research was conducted by survey method, the sampling technique by purposive sampling method. Data collection technique by recording directly on time series data sheets from 2011-2015 and filling questionnaires by coastal and non-coastal communities, the Department of Marine and Fisheries, Planning Agency Regional Development, as well as the Central Bureau of Statistics of Cirebon Regency. The results showed that income disparities in non-coastal areas were higher than coastal areas with an average value of the Williamson Index of 0.20 for coastal areas and 0.29 for non-coastal areas, while through economic base analysis showed that fishery sub-sector in Kabupaten Cirebon is the economic base sector with some superior commodities such as tiger shrimp, shellfish, octopus and crab
Growth and Survival Rate of the Snakehead (Channa striata) Larvae Fed with Different Natural Feeds
Snakehead is a kind of fresh water fish that still taken from the nature, which is the yieldof it fishing are unreliable. Therefore, the aquaculture technique is needed. Criticalphase of snakehead aquaculture is choosing suitable feed for larvae. Based on this problem, information about first feed suitable for larvae is very important.The aim of the research is to know about growth and survival rate of snakehead larvae with differentfeed. The research was done in 21 days at the Center for Research and Development ofFreshwater Aquaculture Bogor. Larvae with first weight 0.4±0.07 mg and length 4.56±0.53 mm were used. Fish were feed three times daily in ad satiation. Experimentaldesign used was completely randomized design four treatment with three replications,namely A (egg yolk chicken), B (Moina sp,), C (Artemia sp.) and D (silk worm).Parameters measured were the absolute length growth, the growth of absolute weight,specific growth rate, survival rate and feed efficiency. Water quality parameters weretemperature, pH, DO and conductivity. The result showed that the used of silk worm asfirst feed for larvae indicated the best performences. The growth of the absolute length of13.34±1.30 mm, absolute weight of 54.52±2.93mg, specific growth rate 23.85±0.21%,survival rate 97.67±2.36% and feed efficiency 82.69±7.79%. Proxymate Analysis, Lead and Total Formaldehyde Contents of Squid Eggs Crackers
Trimethylamine N-oxyde (TMAO) known to be breakdown into formaldehyde (H2CO) in the fish-based product such as squid egg crackers or keritcu under high temperature condition of frying. The oral reference dose (RfD) suggested by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is 0.2 mg formaldehyde per kg body weight per day. Blood lead level should below 5 µg/dL to prevent of reducing cognitive function, decreasing of IQ, and academic achievement. We examine the content of total formaldehyde, leads and proxymate analysis of squid egg crackers. in two different products of halal certificated keritcu in Pangkalpinang. Two different products of halal certificated keritcu were selected after 77 students of junior high school (average body weight was 34 kg), and 95 students of senior high school (avereage body weight was 51,65 kg) in Pangkalpinang city were participated in organoleptic test. High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) was conducted to the two products of keritcu in Pangkalpinang city to examine its total formaldehyde. Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) methods was conducted to examine the leads (Pb) content of two different products of keritcu. SNI 01-2891-1992 methods was conducted for proxymate analysis. In two different products of halal certificated keritcu, no formaldehyde content was detected (limit of detection 1,31 mg/kg), as well as no leads content was detected (limit of detection 0,24 mg/kg). Water content 2,38-2,96%, ash 2,71-3,28%, protein 5,7-6,11%, total lipid 24,39-27,29%, and carbohydrate 61,34-63,84%. Our data show that these two products of keritcu are safe to be consumed by students of junior high school (average body weight was 34 kg) for not more than 5,22 kg keritcu per day, and not more than 7,89 kg keritcu per day for students of senior high school (avereage body weight was 51,65 kg). Leads content of these two products of keritcu (i.e less than 0,24 mg/kg) showed that these products are safe to be consumed
