Comorbidity and Fatality Among Covid Patients: A Hospital Based-Retrospective Cohort Study
People with comorbid diseases have a high risk of contracting COVID-19, because the immune system has decreased, thus increasing the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and even potentially increasing the risk of fatality. This study aimed to determine the comorbidity and mortality among COVID-19 confirmed cases during May to September, 2021. The study was a retrospective cohort with secondary data from the COVID-19 with in Hospital report from May to September, 2021, with a total sample of 178. We extracted demographic and clinical data, including hospital outcomes (discharge or death). The result of the research showed that the respondents separated in to two groups, half of them are patients with comorbidity (89 patients) and the rest are patients non comorbidity. From 89 patients with comorbidity, 62 % were died and 38 % were discharged. The most comorbidites were 67,4% diabetes mellitus, 33% hypertension. The fatality rate of COVID-19 patients was 34% devided to 61,8% were comorbidity patients and 5,5% were non comorbidity. The comorbidity related to fatality rate of COVID-19 patient’s (p=0.000). Literature Review: Lemon Aromatherapy Affected the Emesis Gravidarum in First Trimester Pregnancy
Emesis occurs in 60-80% of primigravida and 40-60% of multigravida. These symptoms become more severe in one hundred out of a thousand pregnancies. The feeling of nausea is caused by an increase in estrogen and HCG hormone levels in the serum. 40% of women have used lemon scent to alleviate nausea and vomiting, and 25% of them have acknowledged that citrus aromatherapy is an effective way to control these symptoms. This study was aimed to determine the effectiveness of lemon aromatherapy in reducing emesis gravidarum in the first trimester of pregnancy. The method used a literature review. Research articles were searched using Google Scholar by entering the keywords "Lemon Aromatherapy," "Emesis Gravidarum," and "First Trimester Pregnant Women" from 2019 to 2023. Out of 15 published journals identified from 2019 to 2023, 10 journals met the criteria. Based on the 10 reviewed journals, lemon aromatherapy had been proven effective in reducing nausea and vomiting in the first trimester of pregnancy. Based on the results of the literature review, the administration of 2-3 drops of lemon aromatherapy for 5 minutes once a day for one week is effective in reducing the frequency of nausea and vomiting in the first trimester of pregnanc
The Effect of Religious Music Therapy on Blood Pressure Changes in Elderly with Hypertension
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a non-communicable disease most suffered elderly. It is characterized by increasing the pressure of blood vessels. Music therapy is one of non-pharmacological management on hypertension so it can be controlled to improve quality of life the patient.The study aimed to analyze the effect of religious music therapy on blood pressure changes in elderly with hypertension. The study design was quasy experiment with a pre-post test approach. Sample of 25 respondents was taken by purposive sampling and carried out at Unit Pelayanan Teknis (UPT) Pesanggrahan Penyandang Masalah Kesejahteraan Sosial (PMKS) Mojopahit Mojokerto. Data analyzed by paired T-test. The results showed a pre-test systolic mean of 156.12 mmHg and a post-test of 149.9 mmHg with a p value of systolic = 0.00 (p <0.05) and a pre-test mean diastolic of 95.76 mmHg and a post-test of 89.40 mmHg with a diastolic p value = 0.00 (p < 0.00). It means that was an effect of religious music therapy on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive elderly at UPT Pesanggrahan PMKS Mojopahit. When music therapy was heard, the brain will produce endorphins that relieves anxiety and tension, so it decrease blood pressure. The Effect of Cylindrical Grip ROM Exercise Therapy on Finger Grip Muscle Strength in The Upper Extremities of Post Stroke Patients
One of the conditions in post-stroke patients is that post-stroke sensory and motor disorders occur on one side of the body, resulting in balance disorders including muscle weakness.Based on a preliminary study conducted in June 2023, it was discovered that 5 respondents who were in the Inpatient Room at Siti Hajar Hospital Sidoarjo most often experienced paralysis in the upper extremities caused by decreased muscle tone so that patients were unable to move their bodies (immobilization). extremity motor abilities through a rehabilitation program.Cylindrical Grip which is a functional hand exercise by holding a cylindrical object such as a glass, bottle, rolled tissue in the palm of the hand (Kleim & Jones, 2008 in Soloman, 2013). The benefits of this therapy are to increase the client's independence and increase muscle strength. Movement exercises can also be useful for improving muscle tone and tendon reflexes.This research used Pre-Experimental design with One Group Pretest and Posttest approach. The population was all post-stroke patients in the inpatient ward who experienced paralysis of the upper right/sinistra extremities at Siti Hajar Hospital. The results of the study proved that there was a change in the value of finger grip muscle strength before and after Cylindrical Grip ROM exercise therapy. The majority of respondents had finger grip muscle strength in the weak category, 23 respondents (76.7%) after being given therapy, different results were obtained, namely the majority of respondents had finger grip muscle strength in the weak category, 15 respondents (50.02). This number decreased after the intervention. Pre and Post data was carried out using the Paired T Test which stated that there was an effect of Cylindrical Grip Exercise Therapy on Finger Grip Muscle Strength in post-stroke patients
Factors Related to Women's Quality of Life in The Climacteric Period
Quality of life is satisfaction on the physical, psychological, social, and environmental aspects in the climacteric period. Climacterium is the period of life from decreased activity to the end of ovarian function, which has an impact on the occurrence of climacteric syndrome. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the quality of life of women during the climacteric period. This research method was an analytical survey, with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted in August 2022 at Padukuhan Karangnongko, Tirtomartani, Kalasan, Sleman. A sample of 90 people was selected by proportional random sampling. The research instrument used the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire, data analysis used Kendall Tau. Factors that are not related to women's quality of life include age, education, occupation, parity, history of chronic disease, history of breast and cervical cancer screening. Factors related to women's quality of life are health insurance (p-value = 0.005) and physical activity (p-value = 0.036). Determinant Factors Related to Family Utilization of Health Services
Health is one of the important elements in human life, so the utilization of health services is an important factor in determining health. The utilization of health services has been recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a primary health concept. However, many people do not take advantage of existing healthcare facilities. The purpose of this research was to determine the factors related to the utilization of health services by families. The research method used an analytic observational research design/analytic survey with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with a total sample of 61 respondents. Bivariate analysis to determine the relationship of each factor was the chi-square test. The results showed that there was no relationship between age and family utilization of health services (p>0.05), there was a relationship between education level and family utilization of health services (p<0.05), there was no relationship between employment status and health service utilization by the family (p>0.05), and there was no relationship between distance (access) and utilization of health services by the family (p>0.05). In this way, families can take advantage of the nearest health service when they are sick so they can find out what disease they are suffering from and get the correct treatment/car
Literature Review: Correlation Between Exclusive Breastfeeding and Incident of Diarrhea to Toddlers
Exclusive breastfeeding is giving ASI without other additional food to infants aged 0-6 months. Babies are not given anything to eat, except food directly produced by the mother because the baby gets the best nutrition through breast milk. Although the efficacy of breast milk is so great, but not many mothers are willing or willing to give exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months as suggested by the world health organization. In Kediri Baptist Hospital, most toddlers do not get exclusive breastfeeding. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea to toddlers based on the results of a literature review. This research used Literature review. Literature was obtained using Google Scholar and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals). The results of research on exclusive breastfeeding was according to Sing, et al. (2018) 54.1%, according to Analinta, (2019) 69.2%, according to Sinaga, et al. (2018) 55.9%, according to Rini, (2018) 37.5%, according to Tamimi, (2016) 46.3%, according to Istiqamah, et al. (2013) 56.2%, and the incidence of diarrhea according to Sing et al. (2018) 68.4%, according to Analinta, (2019) 59%, according to Sinaga, et al. (2018) 27.5%, according to Rini, (2018) 59.4%, according to Tamimi, (2016) 19.5%, Istiqamah, et al. (2013) 40.6%. The Relationship of Feeding Complementary Foods with Complete Menu on Babies Weight
Most children who experience failure to thrive are due to the practice of giving complementary food to breast milk with an incomplete menu, so one way to overcome this is to provide complementary food to complete menus of breast milk. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the provision of complete menus of complementary feeding to changes in the weight of infants aged 6-12 months. This type of study was analytical research used a cross sectional study design. This research has been conducted to 40 infants aged 6-12 months. The sample size is 37 respondents. Probability sampling method with simple random sampling technique has been use as the sampling technique. This study has conducted in midwifery independent practice in Surabaya. Data collection was obtained from weighing the baby's weight, filling in the previous weight by looking at the KMS and using a complete menu complementary feeding pattern questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi square statistical test. Statistical test of chi square found that the value of p = 0.039. There is a relationship between the provision of complete menu complementary foods with infant weight gain. It is hoped that health workers can increase information related to the provision of appropriate complementary food according to the needs of infant
Positif Correlation of Anxiety and the Interest of Elderly in Visiting Health Facilities During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Anxiety about dealing with the infectious nature of COVID-19 could influence the elderly to avoid visiting health facilities due to concerns about the rapid transmission of the disease. The impact of decreasing interest in visiting the elderly with comorbidities to health facilities causes repeated recurrences, and they do not get treatment to improve their health. This research aimed to determine the correlation between anxiety and interest in visiting health facilities for the elderly with comorbid diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic. The variables in this research were anxiety and interest in visiting health facilities. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The design of this research was a correlation with a cross-sectional approach, a sample of 32 respondents, and a purposive sampling technique. The result showed that most of the respondents (53.1%), 17 respondents, experienced moderate anxiety. Most of the respondents (62.5%), 20 respondents, had sufficient interest in visiting. Based on the Spearman's rank test, a p-value of 0.032 (α = 0,05) was obtained, meaning that there was a correlation between anxiety in comorbid elderly people and interest in visiting health facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic with a weak correlation category (r = 0.380). The elderly's anxiety about visiting health facilities during the pandemic could be because the elderly are getting tired of the comorbid disease process they experience; the elderly also feel vulnerable to infection due to information related to COVID-19 transmission; the elderly were afraid to die when confirmed with COVID-19; the elderly worried about the health of their families and the elderly as well. Worried that they have contracted the COVID-19 virus. It recommended for respondents not be afraid or anxious about coming to health facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The elderly could visit health facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic safely by always complying with health protocol
Warm Ginger Compress and Static Stretching for The Change of Pain in Gout Arthritis
Gout Arthritis is a joint inflammation resulted from excessive levels of the uric acid in the blood. The characteristic of the symptoms was monoarticular, swollen, reddish, and pain that interferes activity These conditions need therapy because it could affect the quality of life. The non-pharmacological therapy that can be given was the combination of warm ginger compress and static stretching. The purpose of this research was analyzing the effectiveness of the combination of warm ginger compress and static stretching for change pain in gout arthritis. This research used Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) method to 30 people with gout arthritis in Tambaksari Surabaya. This research used simple random sampling technique. The respondents were divided into two groups, control and treatment group were also determined randomly. The intervention was given for 15-20 minutes, 6 times in 2 weeks. The data analysis used t-test 2 sample. The result of t-test in the intervention group revealed that there was change pain before and after given intervention while the independent sample showed that there was difference in pain in both groups. The warm ginger compress therapy caused vasodilation blood vessel so as to prevent spasm of the muscles, while static stretching through relaxation muscles so increased physical relaxation. The both intervention were useful as non pharmacology therapy to reduce pain in people with gout arthritis
