KONSEP PENDIDIKAN MULTIKULTURAL SEBAGAI SARANA ALTERNATIF PENCEGAHAN KONFLIK
This article provided an overview of the concept of multicultural education as an alternative means of confl ict prevention. The method used to support the writing of this article is the study of literatu re. Point of this article is that multicultural education is a process of developing the full potential of human beingrespectful to plurality and heterogeneity as a consequence of the diversity of culture, ethnicity, religion, economic, social and political background. As one of the world’s biggest multicultural country, Indonesiais supposed deve lop multicultural education as an alternative to prevent social and cultural confl ict that often occurs in Indon esia. In addition build a multicultural society in Indonesia can not be taken for granted by trial and error. On the c ontrary building multicultural society should be pursued in a systematic, programmatic, integrated and sustainabl e. This is because the multicultural reality in Indonesia is an asset that makes Indonesian culturallu very ric h. Therefore, it is necessary for Indonesia to maintain and preserve its rich culture
IMPLEMENTASI KEARIFAN BUDAYA LOKAL PADA MASYARAKAT ADAT KAMPUNG KUTA SEBAGAI SUMBER PEMBELAJARAN IPS
This article aims to provide an overview of the implementation of local wisdom in the indigenous community of Kampung Kuta as a source of social studies learning.The method used is ethnography and Classroom Action Research. The research showed that environmental wisdom as one of the growing cultural values in society are able to make Kuta remain sustainable natural environment. The values of local wisdom, particularly environmental wisdom, is very important to make learning more meaningful social studies. The significance of the values of local wisdom of Kuta indigenous peoples as a source of learning social studies is seen from the results of studies showing the presence of two important things. First, the interest and passion of learners have increased. Second, teachers and the book are no longer the only source of learning
PENDIDIKAN MULTIKULTURAL DAN NASIONALISME INDONESIA
AbstractIn this article the author promotes a conception of multicultural education and its role for the formation of Indonesian nationalism. Various references indicate that today there are some problems, mainly related to the development of narrow ethnic consciousness in some areas of the country. Not infrequently inter- ethnic relations have led to excessive sentiment in some areas so disrupt national unity built since this nation stands. This phenomenon encourages awareness to make an effort to develop nationalism among the people of In donesia. In this case, multicultural education can be adopted for the solution of the problem. Multicultural education appropriate to build Indonesian nationalism in the face of global challenges, because it has a core value in the local and global perspectives, namely: (a) piety towards God Almighty, (b) the responsibility of the unitary state, (c) an award, recognition, and acceptance of cultural diversity, (d) uphold the rule of law, and (e)appreciation of human dignity and human rights are universal. The goal of multicultural education is very importa nt for the integration of the nation because it is in line with Indonesian nationalism development efforts to address the challenges of time

This article was written with the purpose to obtain a picture of interreligious conception of multicultural education as an attempt to create peace in the livelihood of the Indonesian nation that is multicult ural. Conception of multicultural education were developed through in-depth and intensive literature studies. The aut hor emphasizes the idea of multireligious and interreligious education models, not monoreligius, so that each eleme nt in different nations and religious beliefs in this country will show the inclusive character including attitude o f brotherhood, mutual tolerance for differences, respect for differences, and to avoid a culture of violence
KEARIFAN BUDAYA LOKAL MADURA SEBAGAI MEDIA PERSUASIF (Analisis Semiotika Komunikasi Roland Barthes dalam Iklan Samsung Galaxy Versi Gading dan Giselle di Pulau Madura)
This article aims to provide an overview of the cultural wisdom of Madura in advertisement Samsung Galaxy Ivory version by Indonesian celebritis Gading and Giselle in the island of Madura. This study, usin a semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes, tried to unlock the meaning of the signs that are used and re veal the hidden message contained in this advertisement. The author conducted a qualitative study with a research focus on scenes depicting local wisdom of Madurese culture, and then select scenes in advertising that represents local cultural wisdom Madura. Local knowledge of Madurese culture has its own persuasive power. Theme choice by producer of the advertisement is very interesting and has its own character, especially of cattle races, clothing style Madurese, as well as their language and dialect. Madura Island in East Java island region known as the island of salt, and exotic, so well known nationally and internationally. The results of the analysis of mobile phone mentioned found some connotations as follows: (1) the existence of a form of Madurese community thanksgiving in the lens, and (2) cow races, clothing Madura, and language of madurese is indigenous culture of Madura

This article is motivated by the rise of violent behavior among students in Makassar, which raises concern for all parties. The purpose of writing this article is to provide an overview of the transmission pesse’ value ‘as a model of empathy in school. That the cultivation of the value of empathy is very important as one of the solutions to solve the problems associated with violent behavior among pupils and students. In this context, empathy is seen as something that is (becoming), not as something that is (being). Local wisdom of South Sulawesi has left Pesse’ as a model of empathy in school. The values pesse’ in schools as part of the development of character, should be viewed as a common framework that is constantly moving in synergy, both in terms of pattern and purpose in developing pesse’ value, to be used as an effective way to cut habitus violence already rooted among pupils and students in South Sulawesi
KEBERSAMAAN DALAM PERBEDAAN: STUDI KASUS MASYARAKAT CIGUGUR, KABUPATEN KUNINGAN, JAWA BARAT
This study was conducted to gain an overview of togetherness and harmony in the life of a multi-religious society Cigugur. The study was conducted using descriptive-qualitative methods deskriktif, with the observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation study as data collection techniques. The results showed that Cigugur people who have a diversity in religion, namely Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Protestantism, Aga ma Djawa Sunda (ADS) can coexist peacefully. They can live together respectfully because they have strong blood ties. For the people together is more important than the divisions caused by differing views. The unifying fac tor is the chairman of each religion, in addition to the prominent role of Pangeran Djatikusumah as Madrais descent.As the dominant culture, Agama Djawa Sunda (ADS) implement a full tolerance for Cigugur society to embrace and practice religious

This article is concerned with the conception of education for immigrants in the middle of the indigenous majority. As it is known that the movement of people from one place to another is a common and this effect on people’s lives, both migrants and natives. These conditions further reinforce the diversity of Indon esian society and encourage the need for multicultural education. Feature of the present time that every student h as the same rights in acquiring cultural knowledge and educational process is to be developed to further highlig ht the cultural diversity that supports the idea of mutual respect for differences among people. BANGUNAN TRADISIONAL KAMPUNG NAGA: BENTUK KEARIFAN WARISAN LELUHUR MASYARAKAT SUNDA
A space is where humans live their lives on earth. Its presence is essential for human life, as sustained or damage to the environment will affect humans who live in it. To this day Kampung Naga village continue to keep their living space preserved as practiced to their houses and other buildings. This paper aims to reveal the Sunda local wisdom contained in building houses in Kampung Naga village. Data collected through surveys, personal involvement, interviews, and literature. The data were analyzed qualitatively. Kampung Naga houses and other buildings are construedted according to the teachings of the ancestors. Shape and architecture of the building adapts to local conditions. For them life is not in nature but living with nature. These values are noble values that need to be maintained and actualized in everyday life of modern humans in protecting the environment
FOLK SENTIMENT ON VOC AND DUTCH COLONIAL: Syekh Lemah Abang Discourse in Colonial Period of Cirebon
The controversy of Syekh Lemah Abang in Cirebon manuscripts occurs in his ambiguous narrative. This ambiguity of Syekh Lemah Abang narrative refers to the anachronism of historiography of manuscript. Based on this narrative ambiguity and anachronistic story, this research answer the question of what is relationship between story of Syekh Lemah Abang of 16th century. and the situation of Cirebon people in VOC and Dutch colonial Era in 18th century. the time when the manuscripts on it are produced and reproduced.First, political history of Cirebon society is covered by domination of the foreign ruler. Only in the period of Sunan Gunung Jati until Panembahan Ratu II is an independence occurred in Cirebon. This situation was expressed in the narrative of Syekh Lemah Abang by presenting opposition between “Islamic state” represented by Wali Songo, and “the deviate community” represented by Syekh Lemah Abang 16th century. Second, resurrection of Syekh Lemah Abang narrative is the call for resurgence of Cirebon society against VOC and Dutch colonial domination. Syekh Lemah Abang and Wali Songo, both of them are the riches and heritage of Cirebon society. This resurrection answer the unrest feeling against the domination of VOC and Dutch colonial in 18th, the time when the manuscript on Syekh Lemah Abang written and reproduced
