Background: Nutrient deficiency is a nutritional problem that affects thousands of under-five children in Indonesia. Many factors cause nutrient deficiency; two of which are not exclusively breastfeed infections disease nutritional problems, was 84,3%out of 67,539 under-five children Province. In Belu District in NTT, under-five children who suffered from nutrient deficiency were 33% and from malnutrition were 6,4%. In fact, under-five children who have died due to malnutrition are four children. Objective: To evaluate the eradication of malnutrition among under-five children in posyandu (Integrated services) of CHCs with highest case of malnutrition.Method: This was a case-study, evaluation research with a cross-sectional research design and a quantitative approach, supported with a qualitative approach. The independent variables were exclusive breastfeeding and the symptom of infectious disease and the dependent variables was nutritional status. Subjects were 200 children in posyandu of CHCs with the highest case of malnutrition taken with non probability sampling. Data were analyzed using univariable, bivariable and multivariable analyses. Results: Of 200 under-five children in this research, good nutritional status was 32,5%, bad nutritional status was 41,5% and poor nutritional status was 26%. The coverage of malnutrition early detection was still under 80%. Based on the findings, children who received exclusive breastfeeding were 21,5% and children who experienced the symptom of a disease were 45,5%. The prevalence of under-five children who did not receive exclusive breastfeeding and infectious disease was likely to present a greater risk of nutrient deficiency (RP=4.6; CI 95%=2.12-10.21 and RP-2.2; CI 9%=1.13-4.30). Maternal education affected the incidence of nutrient deficiency (RP=1.2; CI 95%=0.05– 2.95). Variable of maternal knowledge was significant statistically and practically. Conclusion: Exclusive breastfeeding, infectious disease, maternal education and knowledge were influential toward the incident of nutrient deficiency or malnutrition. Background: Nutrient deficiency is a nutritional problem that affects thousands of under-five children in Indonesia. Early childhood is a period very sensitive to the environment. This period is referred as the golden age of children\u27s development, the window of opportunity, and the critical time. Appropriate stimulus and good nutrition during this time is important for the child\u27s growth and development in the future. One alternative to develop child\u27s potential is the early childhood education, among which is the playgroup. This study was an observational analytic study with a retrospective cohort design. The study was conducted from April to June 2013. The data were collected using prescreening developmental questionnaires and observation. Sample consisted of 23 kindergarten children from playgroup whose mothers worked and control groups consisted of 23 kindergarten children not from playgroup whose mothers worked. The results of this study were presented descriptively. All kindergarten children not from playgroup had normal development, while from those not from the playgroup, 10 (43.5%) had abnormal development. However, this difference only applied to the sample and could not be generalized because the result of inferential statistical showed that playgroup had no effect on the development of children with p = 0.998. In conclusion, Playgroup does not affect child\u27s development. However, children attending playgroup has potential to undergo normal development than those not attending playgroup. To analyze the influence of playgroup, it is suggested to undertake further study on the influence of play group on the development of pre-kindergarten.Early childhood is a period very sensitive to the environment.          The emergence of resistance of Plasmodium that infect humans against malaria eradication Artemisinin add to the difficulty. Therefore it is necessary to search for new antimalarial drugs derived from natural or synthetic materials other than the vaccine have not been successful.     The results of fractionation or isolation of the ethanol extract of bitter herbs (Andrographis paniculata Nees) and ethanol extracts obtained andrographolide compound which is the main active substance of bitter herbs belonging to the lactone.     Test antimalarial activity of ethanol extract and andrographolide compounds against Plasmodium falciparum in vitro studies suggest that and rographolide compound said to have anti-malarial activity as compared to active ethanol extract with IC50 values of 0.220 μg/ml.     Test the effect of andrographolide compounds bitter herbs (Andrographis paniculata Nees) on the development and morphology of the parasite stages of P. falciparum in vitro studies suggest that there are barriers to the development stage of the parasitic stage and schizont stage tropozoit be schizont stage into ring -stage parasites grow and cause an abnormal morphology.     The conclusion of this study is that the antimalarial herb bitter (Andrographis paniculata Nees) especially andrographolide compound said to have anti-malarial activity as in vitro , causing developmental delays or obstacles stage parasites grow and cause an abnormal morphology. Mother during lactation period belong to age group that are susceptible to lack of nutrition because while breastfeeding the baby, they are undergoing recovery, menstruation and fulfilling their physical needs. Besides, during breastfeeding mother loose micro and macro nutrients such as zinc and calcium exerted throug breast milk. Abstain from food, either in types, amount or frequency, will bring negative impact to the fulfillment of mother during parturition period. Objective: the study aimed to get an overview of the nutrient fulfillment of mother during puerperium in relation to the implementation of Se’I culture among Timor tribe.Method: the study was qualitative that used phenomenological approach with mother during puerperium period of Timor tribe as subject of the study. Data were obtained through indepth interview, observation and food recall 24 hours. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman Model. Result: care that was carried out during the implementation of Se’I culture aimed to support the process of recovery and maintain the physical condition as it was before pregnancy. The fulfillment of nutrients of mother during the practice of Se’I did not meet nutrition sufficiency as recommended.Conclution: intake of nutrition of mothers during the practice of Se’I did not fulfill the need for nutrition and consume other foods that contained equal amount of nutrients when mothers were abstain from certain types of foods. Background: Se’I culture is a series of activities aimed to take care of mother during puerperium that consisted of abstain from certain foods, warming of mothers and Tatobi (compress) within 40 days.
