Investigating fraction computation problem-solving among pre-service primary school teachers
Get PDFThe ability to solve problems involving fractions is a fundamental aspect of mathematics education. This study explores how Pre-Service Primary School Teachers approach problem-solving in fractional computations. A workbook is designed to support pre-service primary school teachers ' computational thinking in fraction-context challenges. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method encompassing interviews, study documentation, and observation to assess fraction computation problem-solving abilities. Twenty-seven participants were involved in this study. They were first-year students enrolled in the Primary School Teacher Education Department at one of the private universities in Jakarta, Indonesia. The findings reveal a notable outcome in pre-service primary school teachers ' understanding of fraction computation problem-solving, marked by recognizable strategies in their problem-solving approach. This research suggests that designing a series of workbooks containing various strategies in computational fractions and building a strong fractional number sense can help pre-service teachers reduce misconceptions and better understand fraction operations. These findings offer guidance for mathematics teacher education on how to effectively teach and embed the concept of fraction calculations to their future students so that they can only teach procedurally if they understand the meaning of fraction operations
Environmental Impacts on the RSS-Based Visible Light Indoor Positioning System
Get PDFTo address the shortcomings of the global positioning system (GPS) operating within indoor scenarios, a range of indoor positioning systems (IPS) have been proposed. Among these, visible light IPS garners substantial research interest for its potential as a cost-effective IPS solution. However, susceptibility to environmental influences like external light and non-line-of-sight that can significantly affect its performance hindered its adoption. Hence, a simulation framework capable of simulating these influences becomes crucial in supporting the effective deployment and promoting the adoption of visible light IPS. This paper investigates the feasibility of using a simulation framework to replicate environmental factors affecting the system, including external
optical sources and blocked transmitters. The research involved the development of a received signal strength (RSS) based visible light IPS prototype and an associated simulation framework. Subsequently, the prototype was tested in three distinct environments: no influences, with an external optical source, and non-line-of-sight. The prototype achieved an accuracy of 0.0836 m, 0.3541 m, and 1.1519 m for 50% of the time respectively in these three environments. Ultimately, the simulation framework developed is capable of reproducing similar effects for all three environments with a difference in the accuracy of 76.08%, 74.86% and 867%, respectively. Thus, the findings support the use of the developed simulation framework for the effective development of visible light IPS in environments with no influences and with external optical sources
Pelatihan Komunikasi Antar Budaya Untuk Meningkatkan Kesadaran Hukum Dalam Mencegah Perilaku Ciberbullying Pada Remaja
No full textDalam era digital yang semakin maju, masalah perilaku cyberbullying semakin mendapat perhatian serius di kalangan remaja. Untuk mengatasi tantangan ini, dilaksanakan program "Pelatihan Komunikasi Antar Budaya untuk Meningkatkan Kesadaran Hukum dalam Mencegah Perilaku Cyberbullying pada Remaja" dengan mitra Yayasan Nulish Institute. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada remaja dalam berkomunikasi antar budaya secara positif serta meningkatkan kesadaran mereka tentang aspek hukum yang relevan dalam konteks cyberbullying. Metode pelaksanaan program ini melibatkan ceramah interaktif, sesi tanya jawab, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman remaja tentang pentingnya komunikasi antar budaya yang baik dan dampak negatif cyberbullying terhadap individu dan masyarakat. Selain itu, mereka juga menjadi lebih sadar akan implikasi hukum yang terkait dengan tindakan cyberbullying. Hasil ini memberikan indikasi bahwa pelatihan komunikasi antar budaya dengan penekanan pada kesadaran hukum dapat menjadi langkah yang efektif dalam mencegah perilaku cyberbullying di kalangan remaja. Dengan demikian, diharapkan bahwa remaja akan lebih bertanggung jawab dalam berkomunikasi daring dan mampu menghindari tindakan cyberbullying, yang pada gilirannya akan menciptakan lingkungan daring yang lebih aman dan lebih beradab bagi semua individu.

Consumptive Behavior in Youth Pay Later Users in Terms of Self-Esteem
Get PDFThe convenience experienced by youth in accessing online services has an impact on their shopping behaviour.This consumptive behaviour can be influenced by several things, one of which is self-esteem. Some previous studies have shown inconsistent results in explaining the effect of self-esteem on consumptive behaviour. This study aims to determine the influence of self-esteem on consumptive behaviour in adolescent pay-later users. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with 150 respondents, 100 female and 50 male, aged 18- 21 years old male and female who live in Jakarta. The data collection technique used was purposive sampling using the self-esteem scale from Rosenberg, which has been adopted by Maroqi to measure self-esteem and the consumptive behaviour scale. The data analysis technique used is a simple regression test. The results obtained in this study are the B coefficient value of 0.022 with a probability value of 0.023, which indicates that there is a positive influence between self-esteem and consumptive behaviour

Get PDFThe difference in societal perspective regarding personal well-being and understanding life choices is genuinely diverse. Lately, there is a prevalent thought where individuals believe that personal well-being can be achieved by choosing to live without children. Most of them prefer to prioritize their careers, education, or other activities that they believe can bring greater happiness and well-being to their lives. This topic has become a frequently discussed subject in almost every region of Indonesia, especially in urban areas. Not only facing negative stigma, the choice to live a life without children in Indonesia also carries positive connotations. Views on child-free in Indonesia are highly diverse, considering the many differences in social environments and each individual’s personal experiences. In this research, the Naïve Bayes algorithm is used as a sentiment classifier in the form of textual data collected through Twitter using the Rapid Miner. The data collection period spanned from May 3rd to May 10th, 2023. The research aims to analyze and present data regarding public sentiment towards the child-free phenomenon in Indonesia. The results of this research reveal the presence of 320 positive sentiments and 180 negative sentiments, with the accuracy value of the Naïve Bayes algorithm in conducting sentiment analysis on the child-free phenomenon reached 95.00%
