    Health Condition of Tridacna sp. in the waters of Obi Island, Indonesia

    Tridacna sp. is one of the protected heritage in Indonesia, because its population has declined dramatically. Tridacna sp. is the largest type of shellfish in water. Like a clam, Tridacna sp. can be used as a bioindicator of the aquatic environment because it can accumulate more heavy metals than other aquatic organisms due to its nature as a filter feeder. This study aims to determine the health condition of Tridacna sp. in the waters of Obi Island with a histopathological analysis approach. The histopathological analysis aims to see the level of tissue damage due to the accumulation of heavy metals. Observation of water quality was also observed in this study. Water quality parameters observed in-situ are temperature, brightness, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen. While the water quality parameters observed ex-situ are nitrate, orthophosphate, ammonia, iron (Fe), and nickel (Ni). Observations show that the water temperature is at 27.99 ℃. Water brightness is at 13 m. Salinity is at 32.13 mg / l. The acidity of the waters is 8.64. Ammonia is at 0.4 mg / L. Nitrate is at 0.009 mg / L. Orthopedics are at 0.016 mg / L. Dissolved oxygen waters are at 3.77 mg / L. The iron (Fe) level of water is at 0.6 mg / L. The level of nickel (Ni) waters is at 0.06 mg / L. This study shows the health condition of Tridacna sp. the histological approach shows that the condition of the network has changed. Symptoms of this change indicate the condition of the Tridacna sp. degeneration and cell necrosis. This change is thought to be influenced by heavy metals.     Phytoplankton bioindeks in Bunaken Island Waters

    Bunaken Island is one of the a tourism object located in North Sulawesi Province.  This area is also a conservation area and a strategic place for developing marine potential.  All forms of activities carried out in these waters, need to be balanced by knowing the marine waters quality surrounding the Bunaken Island. The purpose of this study are to determine the value of abundance and biological indices, to know the ecological conditions of the waters and to see phytoplankton diversity among stations.  The results show that two classes of phytoplankton were found. Those were Bacillariophyceae (diatom) and Dinophyceae (dinoflagelate). There were 33 genera from both two classes, where 22 genera from the Bacillariophyceae and another 11 genera from the Dinophyceae. The phytoplankton abudance was high in station 2 (23, 184 Cell / L), while low abudance was recorded at the station 1 (10,602 Cell / L). Biological index show as follows: the average diversity value at three stations was 0,61, uniformity was 0,2 and dominance was 0,8.  Keywords: Phytoplankton, Bunaken Island Waters, Abudance, Bioindex.AbstrakPulau Bunaken merupakan salah satu objek wisata yang ada di Provinsi Sulawesi Utara. Daerah ini juga merupakan kawasan konservasi serta tempat yang strategis dalam upaya pengembangan potensi kelautan. Segala bentuk aktivitas yang dilakukan di perairan ini, perlu diimbangi dengan mengetahui kondisi kualitas perairan yang ada di Pulau Bunaken. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui nilai kelimpahan dan indeks biologi,dapat mengetahui kondisi ekologi perairan serta melihat apakah ada perbedaan signifikan antara keanekaragaman fitoplankton di masing-masing perbandingan stasiun penelitian. Hasil identifikasi fitoplankton terdiri dari kelas Bacillariophyceae (diatom) dan Dinophyceae (dinoflagelata). Genus yang di temukan pada dua kelas tersebut ada sebanyak 33 genera dengan 22 genera dari kelas Bacillariophyceae dan 11 genera dari kelas Dinophyceae. Hasil analisis data kelimpahan tertinggi ada pada stasiun kedua (23 184 Sel/L) dan nilai kelimpahan terendah ada pada stasiun pertama (10 602 Sel/L). Hasil analisis indeks biologi yang diperoleh adalah sebagai berikut: nilai keanekaragaman rata-rata pada tiga stasiun 0,61, keseragaman 0,2 dan dominasi bernilai 0,8.Kata Kunci : Fitoplankton, Perairan Pulau Bunaken, Kelimpahan, Bioindeks

    Analysis Of Bacteria Community In The Plastic Waste

    Plastic waste is a general problem for the environment. Therefore, more ways of plastic waste management are required. One of the plastic waste management process is microbiological biodegradation using bacteria. This research aims to identify the bacterial community in Polyethylene Terephthalate type plastic waste by molecular analysis. In order to identify the community of bacteria, it is necessary to isolate the DNA of uncultured bacteria. In this research, the isolation of the DNA of uncultured bacteria from plastic waste was carried out by the Qiagen DNeasy® PowerSoil Pro Kit handbook. The DNA genome was subsequently examined using electrophoresis gel and UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The DNA genome was then amplified using Polymerase Chain Reaction and the bacteria were identified using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis. On the results of this study, the uncultured bacteria DNA from plastic waste was isolated with purification value of 1. The amplified DNA genome was detected by DNA bands through gel electrophoresis gel at ~1500 bp. The bacteria in the plastic waste were Proteobacteria, Cyanobacteria, Actinobacteria, Chlorobi, Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes, Chloroflexi, Thaumarchaeuta and Gemmattimonadetes with the highest relative abundance of Proteobacteria.Keywords : Bacteria, Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid ( DNA), Plastic Waste, UnculturedAbstrakSampah plastik merupakan masalah bagi lingkungan oleh sebab itu diperlukan pengelolaan yang baik. Salah satu pengelolaan sampah plastik yakni dengan cara biodegradasi secara mikrobiologi menggunakan bakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komunitas bakteri pada sampah plastik, khususnya jenis Polyethylene Terephthalate secara molekuler. Untuk analisis bakteri secara molekuker, diperlukan tahapan isolasi DNA bakteri. Pada penelitian ini isolasi DNA bakteri tanpa kultivasi dari sampah plastik dilakukan dengan mengikuti prosedur ekstraksi DNeasy® PowerSoil Pro Kit, Qiagen dengan menggunakan proses pengikisan pada kedua permukaan plastik sebagai tahapan preparasi sampel. Hasil ekstraksi DNA selanjutnya diuji menggunakan elektroforesis gel dan spektofotometer UV-Vis. Genom DNA kemudian diamplifikasi menggunakan Polymerase Chain Reaction dan bakteri diidentifikasi dengan Next Generation Sequencing analysis. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa, DNA bakteri tanpa kultivasi dari sampah plastik berhasil diisolasi dan diamplifikasi yang ditunjukkan dengan terbentuknya pita DNA lewat hasil elektroforesis gel pada panjang 1500 bp. Bakteri yang terdapat pada plastik jenis PET adalah Proteobacteria, Cyanobacteria, Actinobacteria, Chlorobi, Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes, Chloroflexi, Thaumarchaeuta dan Gemmattimonadetes dengan kelimpahan relatif tertinggi adalah ProteobacteriaKata kunci: Bakteri, Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid ( DNA), Sampah Plastik, Tanpa Kultivas

    An Assessment of Mangrove Rehabilitation Programs in Bolaang Mongondow Selatan Regency, North Sulawesi

    While the results of many mangrove rehabilitation efforts have not been optimal due to various factors, the rate of mangrove forest deforestation remains high in Indonesia. This research was designed to test the principle “planting certain mangrove seedlings on suitable habitat would be survivedâ€. The test was based on an assessment of six locations in Bolaang Mongondow Selatan Regency where mangrove rehabilitation programs were implemented. This assessment was conducted by using a spot check method to analyze any variables associated with plantation area feasibility, and the use of a participative approach to collect additional information. Results from this study confirmed that mangrove seedlings have to be planted on the right habitat and that the implemented rehabilitation programs have followed a try and error or speculative approach, and have not been supported by sufficient technical and theoretical competencies. Keywords: artificial plantation, natural regeneration, mangrove, rehabilitation        Deforestasi hutan mangrove di Indonesia berlangsung cepat, sementara itu banyak upaya rehabilitasi belum memberikan hasil yang optimal karena berbagai faktor. Penelitian ini menguji secara khusus prinsip “benih yang ditanam di tempat yang cocok akan tumbuhâ€, melalui penilaian enam lokasi program rehabilitasi mangrove di Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Selatan. Penilaian dilakukan menggunakan metode pengecekan lapangan (on spot check) untuk menganalisis variabel-variabel yang berkaitan dengan kelayakan lahan tanam, dan pengumpulan informasi melalui pendekatan partisipatif. Hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa “jenis bibit yang ditanam harus sesuai dengan lahan tanamâ€. Upaya penanaman yang dilakukan masih menggunakan pendekatan coba-coba atau spekulatif, dan tidak didukung pemahaman teknis maupun teoritis yang memadai.Kata kunci: mangrove, penanaman artifisial, regenerasi alami, rehabilitas

    Study Of Non Point Source Heavy Metal Cadmium Level In Mangrove Plant Sediment At Likupang: Addressed To The Conservation Of The Bunaken National Park

    Recognize close to Bunaken National Park and largely influenced by the mouth of the Likupang River, having a compact rooting system makes trapped particles suspended in the water column into the sediment. This study aims to determine the spatial distribution of Cadmium metal levels in Mangrove sediments. Sediment samples were taken spatially at point 1 (N 01 ° 40,314 'E 125 ° 04,032') area close to the mainland, point 2 (N 01 ° 40,336 'E 125 ° 03,999') at the center of Mangrove root are present, and point 3 (N 01 ° 40,328 'E 125 ° 03,973') leading to the sea. Sediment samples were analyzed with AAS in the BARISTAND laboratory in Manado with Indonesian National Standards (SNI). The results obtained with the average value in ppm at each point are first point 1, level 0.04, second point, level 5.88, and the third point, level 3.88. The concentration at point second and the third are above the CCME Criteria. This study result at point 2 as the center of concentration of Mangrove roots obtained the highest value, followed at point 3 at a point near the sea and then the lowest at point 1 close to the coast. Keywords: Sediment; Mangrove root; Cadmium ABSTRAKBerada berdekatan dengan TN Bunaken serta besar dipengaruhi oleh muara sungai Likupang, memilki sistem perakaran yang kompak menjadikan terperangkapnya partikel tersuspensi di kolom air menjadi sedimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui distribusi spasial kandungan logam Cadmium pada sedimen Mangrove. Sampel sediment diambil secara spatial yaitu titik 1 (N 01°40.314’ E 125°04.032’) yang dekat dengan daratan, titik 2 (N 01°40.336’ E 125°03.999’)pada bagian pusat adanya konsentrasi perakaran, dan titik 3 (N 01°40.328’ E 125°03.973’) berada pada kearah laut.  Sampel sedimen di analsis dengan AAS di laboratorium BARISTAND di Manado dengan standard SNI.  Hasil yang diperoleh dengan nilai rata rata dalam ppm ditiap titik adalah :  titik 1, nilai 0,04, titik 2, nilai 5,88, dan titik 3, nilai 3,88, pada titik 2, dan 3 sudah melebihi baku mutu yang direkomendasikan oleh CCME yaitu 0,7 ppm. Dari penelitian ini disimpukan pada titik 2 sebagai pusat konsentrasinya perakaran Mangrove diperoleh nilai paling tinggi, diikuti pada titik 3 pada titik arah dekat dengan laut kemudian terendah pada titik 1 yang dekat dengan arah pantai.Kata kunci: Sediment; Mangrove root; Cadmiu

    Morphology Characteristic, Growth And Survival Rate Of The Early Larval Stages Of Mud Crab, Scylla serrata (Forsskal, 1775) For The Rearing Process

    The availability of female adult mature will continuously support mud crab hatchery to produce the best quality of larvae. Bray et al., (1990b) proposed that zoea length can be used as an index of larval quality. Larval quality is dependent on the physiology condition related to the growth and survival rate of several larval development stages (Racotta et al., 2003). The mortality in all development stages was due to the high sensitivity of larvae for the environment changes. Two aquariums and sterilized water were used in all rearing process and larvae of Scylla serrata fed once a day. It was fed by rotifer (Branchionus plicatilis) and Artemia sp on the third and fifth days. The results showed that the eye was a distinguishing characteristic between zoea I and zoea II. Development of zoea I range about 0 (zero) to fourth days and zoea II about fifth to seventh days. Observation of growth for six days indicate an increasing significantly on the fourth to sixth days. The survival rate of Scylla serrata larvae without food holds three days out. Otherwise, larvae that were fed on everyday hold seven days out. ABSTRAKKetersediaan induk yang matang telur secara berkesinambungan akan sangat mendukung usaha pembenihan kepiting bakau dalam menghasilkan larva dengan kualitas yang baik. Bray et al., (1990b) bahwa panjang zoea dapat digunakan sebagai suatu indeks kualitas larva. Selain itu, kualitas larva juga bergantung kepada kondisi fisiologis larva dan berkaitan dengan rata-rata pertumbuhan dan sintasan selama beberapa tahapan larva (Racotta et al., 2003). Seluruh proses pemeliharaan digunakan air steril dengan menggunakan wadah berupa akuarium sebanyak dua buah. Larva kepiting bakau, S. serrata selama pemeliharaan diberi pakan satu kali sehari. Pakan yang diberikan berupa rotifer (Branchionus plicatilis) dan artemia pada hari kelima dan ketiga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ciri morfologi pembeda antara tahap zoea I dan zoea II adalah mata. Perkembangan zoea I berkisar antara hari 0 sampai dengan hari 4 selanjutnya zoea II antara hari kelima sampai hari ketujuh. Pertumbuhan yang diamati selama masa pemeliharaan hari pertama sampai hari keenam, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada hari keempat sampai hari keenam. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva S. serrata yang tidak diberi pakan dapat bertahan mencapai tiga hari. Sebaliknya untuk larva yang diberi pakan selama masa pemeliharaan mampu bertahan hingga mencapai tujuh hari.Kata kunci: Larva zoea, Scylla serrata, pertumbuhan, tingkat kelangsungan hidu

    Community Structure of Seagrass Tasik Ria Waters, Sub-district of Tombariri, Minahasa District

    Seagrass study has been conducted in Tasik Ria waters in the district of the Minahasa area. The aims research is: 1. to know the physical and chemical conditions at the waters.2. To identify seagrass species found on research location and to study the community structure of seagrass. Four seagrass species have been found in the study i.e. Halophila ovalis, Enhalus acoroides,  Thalassia hemprichii, dan Syringodium isoetifilium. The number of individuals of seagrass varied between 316 to 662, species densities were varied between (84.27-176.53/m²), relative densities were (16.06-33.62), index of occurrence were (0.1-0.4), the relative frequency was (10-41.66%), the dominance was (84.27-176.5), the relative dominance were (16.04-33.62%). Thalassia hemprichii has the highest on important value has Index of dominance was 0.265, while the diversity index was 1.354, and the distribution pattern was 1.028.Keywords: Seagrass, Identification, Community Structure, Tasik Ria   AbstrakSuatu penelitian mengenai lamun telah dilakukan di Perairan Tasik Ria, Kecamatan Tombariri, Kabupaten Minahasa. Penelitian ini mencakup Struktur Komunitas Lamun di lokasi penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1.Mengetahui kondisi fisik dan kimia perairan 2.Mengidentifikasi spesies lamun yang ada di Perairan Tasik Ria serta mempelajari struktur komunitas lamun.Pada lokasi penelitian ditemukan 4 spesies Lamun,yaitu Halophila ovalis( R. Brown) Hooker F, Enhalus acoroides (Linnaeus f.) Royle, 1839, Thalassia hemprichii (Ehrenberg) Ascherson, dan Syringodium isoetifolium (Ascherson) Dandy. Jumlah tegakan speseis lamun di lokasi penelitian berkisar dari 316 hingga 662 individu, kepadatan spesies (84.27-176.53/m²), kepadatan relatif (16.05-33.62%), frekuensi kehadiran (0.1-0.41), frekuensi relatif (10-41.66%), dominasi (84.27-176.53), dominasi relatif (16.04-33.62%). indeks nilai penting lamun di Perairan Tasik Ria menunjukkan bahwa Thalassia hemprichii memiliki indeks nilai penting paling tinggi di antara ke 4 spesies lamun yakni 108.91%.     Land Suitability and Capability For Mariculture Utilization of Coastal Area of Manado Tua Island

    The concept of land suitability and carrying capacity in utilizing the coastal land area of Manado Tua Island is a long-term goal in the study of sustainable coastal and small island management. Meanwhile, alternative livelihoods for sustainable aquaculture food sources are a special target. The potential of freshwater supply becomes a limiting factor for small islands, in addition to land availability. The special objective is the use of aquatic land as aquaculture land which has an impact on alternative livelihoods and the availability of food sources. The land suitability analysis is carried out in the following stages: (1) preparing a map of the Manado Tua Island area, (2) creating a matrix for the suitability of aquaculture activities, (3) providing weighting and scoring, and (4) conducting spatial analysis. The biogeophysical conditions of the coastal waters of Manado Tua Island are classified as normal for mariculture cultivation activities. Geographically the island is located at coordinates 01º 37 '57 "North Latitude and 124º 41" 56 "East Longitude. The very suitable location I was 44.03 m2, while the suitable land was 34.25 m2, and the conditionally suitable land was 17.13 m2. For location II, the area that fully meets the requirements is 70.50 m2, and those that meet the appropriate requirements are 49.86 m2, and those that meet the conditionally are 27.51 m2. The land area of Manado Tua Island is 1,056.02 ha. The condition of freshwater sources has not yet the potential to meet the needs of the community and visiting tourists.Keywords: land suitability, aquaculture, freshwater utilization, Manado Tua IslandAbstrakKonsep kesesuaian lahan dan daya dukung dalam memanfaatkan areal lahan pesisir  Pulau Manado Tua merupakan tujuan jangka panjang dalam studi pengelolaan pesisir dan pulau kecil secara berkelanjutan. Sedangkan alternatif mata pencaharian untuk sumber pangan hasil budidaya perairan secara berkelanjutan menjadi target khusus. Potensi sediaan air tawar menjadi faktor pembatas pulau kecil, disamping ketersediaan lahan. Adapun tujuan khusus adalah pemanfaatan lahan perairan sebagai lahan budidaya perikanan yang berdampak pada alternatif mata pencaharian serta ketersediaan sumber bahan pangan. Analisis kesesuian lahan dilakukan dalam tahapan: (1) penyusunan peta kawasan Pulau Manado Tua, (2) membuat matriks kesesuaian kegiatan budidaya perikanan, (3) memberikan pembobotan dan pengharkatan, dan (4) melakukan analisis spasial. Kondisi biogeofisik perairan pantai Pulau Manado Tua tergolong normal untuk kegiatan budidaya matrikultur. Secara geografi Pulau terletak pada koordinat 01º 37’ 57†LU dan 124º 41’ 56†BT. Pada lokasi I yang sangat sesuai seluas 44,03 m2, sedangkan lahan yang sesuai seluas 34,25 m2 dan lahan yang sesuai bersyarat seluas 17,13 m2.  Untuk lokasi II  areal yang sangat memenuhi syarat adalah seluas 70.50 m2, dan yang memenuhi syarat sesuai adalah seluas 49,86 m2, dan yang memenuhi sesuai bersyarat seluas 27,51 m2. Luas daratan Pulau Manado Tua 1.056,02 ha . Kondisi sumber air tawar di belum berpotensi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat dan wisatawan yang berkunjung.Kata kunci: kesesuaian lahan, budidaya perikanan, pemanfaatan air tawar, Pulau Manado Tu

    The Nursery Technique of Juvenile Sandfish, Holothuri scabra

    Sea cucumbers are an Indonesian fisheries export commodity. Sea cucumber populations that are endangered in nature encourage sea cucumbers to be produced through hatchery and nursery. Through nursery, it is expected that sea cucumber juveniles are stronger and can increase survival rate when stocked in growth containers or restocked. This study aims to provide better sandfish nursery techniques and local area characteristics to support hatchery activities. This study was conducted in May - July 2018 at the Hatchery CV Pesona Manir Rat, Southeast Maluku Regency. Juvenile sandfish 30-36 days old, rearing in hapa measuring 100 x 100 x 70 cm with a density of 200 individuals/hapa. In one tank rearing is placed one hapa. During rearing, 100-150% of water is changed and given one-liter Navicular sp. every day. Aeration was installed 4 points on each hapa and water quality measurement was conducted every day. At the end of the study, body length measurements and mortality calculations were conducted. The result is that sea cucumber juvenile which is maintained has absolute growth ranging from 1.98 to 2.1 cm with an average absolute growth of 2.03 cm. The average mortality obtained was 53.83% with a range of 53% - 55%. Based on the discussion it was concluded that this technique can be applied in sandfish nursery. ABSTRAKTeripang merupakan komuditi eksport perikanan Indonesia. Populasi teripang yang terancam di alam mendorong teripang harus diproduksi melalui pembenihan dan pendederan. Melalui pendederan diharapakan anakan teripang lebih kuat dan dapat bertahan hidup lebih baik ketika ditebar pada wadah pembesaran atau direstoking. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan informasi teknik pendederan teripang pasir yang lebih baik dan berkarakteristik daerah setempat guna menopang kegiatan pembenihan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juli 2018 di Hatchery CV Pesona Manir Rat, Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Juvenil teripang pasir berusia 30 – 36 hari, dipelihara pada hapa berukuran 100 x 100 x 70 cm dengan kepadatan 200 individu / hapa. Pada satu bak pemeliharaan ditempatkan satu buah hapa. Selama pemeliharaan dilakukan pergantian air sebanyak 100 – 150 % dan diberikan satu liter Navicular sp. setiap hari. Aerasi dipasang sebanyak 4 titik pada setiap hapa dan dilakukan pengukuran kualitas air setiap hari. Diakhir penelitian, dilakukan pengukuran panjang tubuh dan perhitungan mortalitas. Hasilnya juvenile teripang yang dipelihara mengalami pertumbuhan mutlak berkisar antara 1,98 – 2,1 cm dengan rata-rata pertumbuhan mutlak sebesar 2,03 cm. Mortalitas rata-rata yang diperoleh sebesar 53, 83 % dengan kisaran 53 % - 55 %. Berdasarkan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa teknik ini dapat diterapkan dalam pendederan teripang pasir.Â

    Morphometrics, gonad index, intestine index and latern index of sea urchins, Tripneustes gratilla (Linnaeus, 1758) Tiwoho and Kampung Ambong Beach, North Sulawesi

    Two populations of Tripneustes gratilla (Linnaeus, 1758) from two different habitats, Tiwoho and Kampung Ambong, show variations in morphometric and physiological characteristics. The average test diameter of the Tiwoho population is larger than the Kampung Ambong population. Although the two regressions of the test diameter – total weight relationship between the Tiwoho population and the Kampung Ambong population are identical, the T. gratilla of Tiwoho population has an isometric growth pattern whereas the Kampung Ambong population shows a negative allometric growth pattern. The two regressions of the test diameter – test height show identical slopes and intercepts and reveal an isometric growth for the two populations. For both populations, the gonad index is not affected by variations in the test diameter, but the gonad index of the Kampung Ambong population is greater than the gonad index of the Tiwoho population. Similarly, there is no significant relationship between the two variables, intestinal index, and test diameter, for both populations, and no significant difference in the intestinal index – test diameter regressions between the two populations. The relationship between the latern index – test diameter shows the lantern index remains constant with changes in the diameter test for the Tiwoho population. As for the Kampung Ambong population, the lantern index decreases with increasing test diameter. The two regressions of lantern index – test diameter show differences in the slopes of the lines, and this means that in adult size, the lantern index of the Tiwoho population is larger than the Kampong Ambong population. The low of the lantern index and the high of gonad index in Kampong Ambong could indicate more availability of food for sea urchins at this location compared to Tiwoho. Differences in food availability in the environment are thought to determine differences in the energy allocation strategies of the two populations of sea urchins T. gratilla.Key words: Tripneustes gratilla, allometric analysis, gonad index, intestinal index, lantern index, Tiwoho, Kampung Ambong.ABSTRACTDua populasi Tripneustes gratilla (Linnaeus, 1758) dari dua habitat yang berbeda, Tiwoho dan Kampung Ambong, menunjukkan variasi dalam karakteristik morfometrik dan fisiologis. Diameter cangkang rata-rata populasi Tiwoho lebih besar dari populasi Kampung Ambong. Meskipun kedua regresi hubungan diameter cangkang – berat total antara populasi Tiwoho dan populasi Kampung Ambong adalah identik, T. gratilla populasi Tiwoho memiliki pola pertumbuhan isometrik sedangkan populasi Kampung Ambong menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif. Dua regresi diameter cangkang - tinggi cangkang menunjukkan kesamaan kemiringan dan intersep dan memperlihatkan pertumbuhan isometrik untuk dua populasi. Untuk kedua populasi, indeks gonad tidak dipengaruhi oleh variasi diameter cangkang, tetapi indeks gonad populasi Kampung Ambong lebih besar dari pada indeks gonad populasi Tiwoho. Demikian pula, tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kedua variabel, indeks usus dan diameter cangkang, untuk kedua populasi, dan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan regresi indeks usus - diameter cangkang antara kedua populasi. Dalam hubungan diameter cangkang - indeks latern menunjukkan bahwa indeks lentera tetap konstan dengan perubahan diameter cangkang untuk populasi Tiwoho. Sedangkan untuk populasi Kampung Ambong, indeks lentera berkurang dengan meningkatnya diameter cangkang. Dua regresi indeks lentera – diameter cangkang menunjukkan perbedaan dalam kemiringan garis, dan ini berarti bahwa pada ukuran dewasa, indeks lentera populasi Tiwoho lebih besar dari populasi Kampung Ambong. Indeks lentera yang rendah dan indeks gonad yang tinggi di Kampung Ambong dapat mengindikasikan lebih banyak ketersediaan makanan untuk bulu babi di lokasi ini dibandingkan dengan di Tiwoho. Perbedaan ketersediaan makanan di lingkungan diperkirakan menentukan perbedaan dalam strategi alokasi energi dari dua populasi bulu babi T. gratilla.Kata kunci: Tripneustes gratilla, analisis allometrik, indeks gonad, indeks usus, indeks lentera, Tiwoho, Kampung Ambon
