THE DNA SEQUENCE ENCODING GLYCERALDEHYDE 3-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE (GAPC) ENZYME ON TUNTUN ANGIN PLANT (ELAEOCARPUS FLORIBUNDUS BI)
Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GapC) is an enzyme involved in glycolysis. The expression of this gene tends to abundant in eukaryotic cells, so this gene is frequently used as an internal control in gene expression analysis. This research aims to isolate the DNA sequence of the GapC gene from tuntun angin (Elaeocarpus floribundus BI). Methods included a collection of the leaves from Kajuik Lake, Riau Province then the DNA extraction, electrophoresis, amplification of partial DNA sequence of GapC gene, cloning and sequencing. The DNA sequence was analyzed using the BLASTn program and MEGA6 software. The GapC sequence obtained in this study was 933 bp in size, consisting of four introns and five exons, and encoding 137 deduced amino acids. The BLASTn analysis showed that the sequence has 89.84%-90.16% similarity to other species of Cunoniaceae family, such as species from the genus of Spiraeanthemum and Codia. The parsial sequence of E. floribundus GapC gene was more resemble the one of Spiraeanthemum than Codia genus. The GapC sequence obtained in this study was the first reported from the Elaeocarpaceae family. This sequence has the opportunity to serve as an internal control after validation
FORMULATION AND ANTIBACTERIAL TEST OF STAR ANISE EXTRACT (Illicium verum Hook.F) AS A HAND SANITIZER
The hand becomes one of the body parts that are easily exposed to microorganisms because of their high mobility. Hand sanitizer is a liquid that can be used to kill microbes. Most hand sanitizers contain alcohol and triclosan, which can be bad for the skin if used in excessive amounts. It is necessary to substitute alcohol and triclosan as an antibacterial, one of which is star anise (Illicium verum Hook.f). Star anise contains flavonoids and tannins, which can function as antibacterial and safe for health. The objective of this study was to make a hand sanitizer formulation from star anise and test its antibacterial strength. The method used was a laboratory experiment with stages; Star anise extraction and antibacterial test. The results of the hand sanitizer formulation of the biggest star anise extract in inhibiting are 10% star anise extract. Inhibitory zone of 10% star anise extract at 6.2 ± 0.76 mm and included in the medium category
PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TENTANG IMUNISASI MR PUSKESMAS GLUGUR DARAT KECAMATAN MEDAN TIMUR 2019
This study aims to find out how people's perceptions about MR immunization, as for the background of this research is because in the community there are many pros and cons in the implementation of MR immunization. This research is quantitative with a case study in Glugur Darat Health Center. The population is the community that has children aged 9 months to 15 years. Determination of the sample with quota sampling. With a total sample of 100 people. Data collection instruments with documentation, questionnaires and direct interviews which are then analyzed using simple linear correlation. From the results of this study indicate the public perception of MR Immunization in the Work Area of the Glugur Darat Health Center the majority of 71% do not understand about MR immunization. And from the results of the chi quare test to analyze the relationship between the perception of the community about MR immunization and the participation of MR immunization, the results obtained p = 0,000. Then there is a relationship between the public perception of MR immunization with the participation of MR immunization. For onshore glugur health centers to provide information to the public about MR immunization by providing counseling to the community, distributing leaflets about MR immunization
UTILIZATION OF PAPAYA LEAVES (Carica papaya L.) TO CONTROL ONION PEST SPODOPTERA EXIGUA (LEPIDOPTERA: NOCTUIDAE)LEPIDOPTERA (NOCTUIDAE)
Spodoptera exigua is a migrant pest that attacks onions simultaneously in groups. The utilization of papaya leaves to control pests due to papaya leaves have toxic compounds that can kill pests. This study aims to measure the ability of papaya leaves to control S. exigua larvae. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) experimental method with two treatment factors. The first factor was papaya leaf concentration (0 g / l, 30 g / l, 70 g / l, 100 g / l, 120 g / l), and the second factor is a mixture of kerosene. The treatment was repeated three times. The study was conducted at the Agrotechnology Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty Muhammadiyah University, South Tapanuli. The results showed that papaya leaves could kill S. exigua larvae. The highest mortality of S. exigua worms There were statistically significant non-treatments among treatments
DIURETICS EFFECT OF AVOCADO LEAF (Persea americana Mill.) ETHANOL EXTRACT ON THE GASTRIC HISTOLOGY OF WISTAR MALE RATS (Rattus norvegicus)
Irregular urine output triggers kidney stone disease. One way to cure it is by using synthetic diuretic compounds. The use of synthetic diuretic drugs for a long time can cause side effects, namely gastric damage. Therefore, research is needed to determine the diuretic effect of ethanol extract of avocado leaves (Persea americana) and its effect on the histological structure of the gastric of male rats. Avocado leaf extract is made by maceration method, using 70% ethanol and then evaporated. Wistar male rats were divided into 5 treatment groups namely negative control (aquadest), positive control (furosemide), avocado leaf extract dose of 50 mg / kg body weight, 100 mg / kg body weight, and 150 mg / kg body weight with oral administration for 15 days. The volume of urine  was measured for 24 hours, then the mice were sacrified on the 16th day. Gastric organs were taken for histological observation by the paraffin method and Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining. The results showed that the optimum avocado leaf ethanol extract was a dose of 100 mg/kg showed a diuretic effect but did not affect the histological structure of the gastric
PENGARUH JARAK KANDANG TERNAK TERHADAP TOTAL COLIFORM PADA AIR SUMUR GALI DI DESA KLAMBIR
Clean water needs one of which can be obtained through a dug well. As for things that need to be considered in the use of dug wells that meet health requirements. This is intended to minimize the occurrence of well water contamination caused by contaminants that exist around the dug well. The purpose of conducting this research was to analyze the influence caused by the dintance of the cattle pen with the presence of total Coliform bacteria in the dug wells of Klambir Village. This study used an observational analytic method with a cross sectional design. The study were used 35 samples and it was determined by simple random sampling. The results obtained from the research that from 35 samples examined entirely contain Coliform. In detail can be explained that as much as 22 wells (62.9%) had total coliforms> 50/100 ml and 13 wells (37.1%) had total coliforms ≤ 50/100 ml of water. The results of multiple logistic regression analysis showed that there was an effect of enclosure distance on total coliform in dug well water

Astra International Tbk recorded the demand for the use of lubricants as one of the spare parts components sought by Honda motorcycle consumers to continue to increase where at the end of 2015 lubricant parts sales were recorded at 18,596,521 lubricants and each month on average they needed around 1,149,125 lubricant (Gani, 2016). In the case of waste producers, B3 waste management can be transferred to other parties accompanied by documents showing evidence of delivery of B3 waste, in accordance with the contents of Article 32 Paragraph (2) Government Regulation Number 101 of 2014. The meaning transferred here can be interpreted as being sold to another party, because the waste of used lubricating oil still has economic value. This study aims to determine the process of managing lubricating oil waste at Astra Motor Balikpapan. This study was designed as a descriptive observational evaluation study conducted cross sectionally by observing, analyzing, observing and processing data and information that has been systematically collected. The results showed that the management of used lubricant waste at Astra Motor Balikpapan was quite good, but there were some things that needed to be improved including control from Balikpapan BLHD supervision, workshops and continuous counseling and the absence of strict administrative sanctions
EFFECTIVENESS TEST OF ANTI-BACTERIAL LIME JUICE (Citrus aurantifolia) ON SALMONELLA SP BACTERIA IN SALMON FISH (Oncorhynchus nerka)
Salmonella Sp is a gram-negative pathogens that are often found in marine foods,one of  process of serving  salmon is channeling lime juice, where lime juice is acidic and has phytochemical properties that have anti-bacterial properties. This study aims to explore anti-bacterial effect lime juice on Salmonella thypii bacteria in Salmon. This research is an experimental study using disc diffusion method. Lime samples that were used were purchased from one of the modern markets in Medan which were made in several series of concentrations using distilled water as a solvent, while the salmon samples used in this study were purchased from one of the Japanese dining restaurants located in Medan City. Meanwhile, isolation of Salmonella thypii bacteria from salmon samples was carried out using nutrient broth and SSA media. The results of this study indicate that differences in concentration indicate the differences in the diameter of the inhibitory zone (P value = 0.000). With the diameter of the widest inhibition zone formed by a concentration of 100% is 15.40 ± 0.44 mm and the smallest diameter is formed by a concentration of 5% which is 7.23 ± 0.55 mm. Thus, it can be concluded that the lime juice has anti-bacterial activity against Salmonella thypii bacteria from salmon
PHYTOREMEDIATION OF HYDROCARBON-CONTAMINATED SOILS USING JARAK KEPYAR (Ricinus communis L) AND COMPOST
Phytoremediation is known as one of the bioremediation techniques which may remove, stabilize, and/or destroy contaminants in the media. This study was aiming at collecting evidence of phytoremediation, which was applied with the addition of compost. Jarak Kepyar (Ricinus communis L.) was selected for this study because its seeds highly potency as biodiesel raw materials. Laboratory research scale was prepared, and the experiment design was complete random design with three replications. The experiment design was a full random design with three replications. The treatments were mixed contaminated soil (contaminated soil: compost = 3:1) and R. communis; and mixed garden soil (soil:compost=3:1) and R. communis; and contaminated soil without compost and R. communis. The statistical t-Test with a range of confidence at 95% showed that the phytoremediation significantly removed the Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) at 97.7%. TPH accumulations were detected in roots and shoot ranged from 3377.6 mg/kg to 3555.0 mg/kg. R. communis leave development was the most sensitive indicator to biotoxicity of the hydrocarbons in the soils
