Istraživačko eksperimentisanje i taksonomija eksperimentisanja
Transformation of the philosophy of science during the last three
decades is largely based on the philosophers’ insights in the experimental
side of science. Central issues in this new field, such as classification of basic
elements and types of experimentation, are still developing. Subject of this
work will be one of these types, Steinle’s „exploratory experimentation“ (EE),
and its place in taxonomy of experimentation. After presenting an array of
historical cases of experimentation, I analyze Elliott’s systematization of EE
subtypes. I will claim that it does not represent development of Steinle’s ideas,
although it can be used to improve taxonomy of experimentation in general.
Special attention will be dedicated to the development of this taxonomy
and understanding forms of experimentation not focused on theory testing
– specifically EE
A Brief Survey of the Fight Against Corruption in the Russian and Ottoman Empire in the First Half of the 19th Century
For the Russian and Turkish Empire the nineteenth century is the period of adopting reform laws to modernize the country in order to be competitive in the course of time. Although the reform process in Russia was obstructed by the Arakcheyev regime and reactionary politics of Nicholas I of Russia, the government made a serious step in the fight against systemic corruption, enacting the Criminal Code of 1845. On the other hand, Turkey was undoubtedly under considerable foreign pressure concerning modernization processes. The Tanzimat period represents a significant epoch in which Turkey, among other countries, was faced with widespread corruption. The crown success of reformatory work in Turkey was adoption of the Criminal Code of 1856. This paper analyzes the specific laws which sanctioned corruption in these two empires
The process of enfranchisement in England: becoming a citizen in the system of private and public
Cultures of the East (1984–1992)
The quarterly journal, Cultures of the East (1984–92), was founded with the intention of presenting Near and Far East cultures to academics, as well as a wider audience, and illuminate some of its rich cultural heritage. The subtitle defined the journal as a “journal for Eastern philosophy, literature and art”. However it also contained other issues, such as religion. Some issues had a comparative approach, compiling studies (on philosophy, religion, etc.) of Eastern as well as Western origin on a given topic. Recently two digital internet presentations of the journal issues have been posted to the following site: http://yu-budizam.com/knjige/#kulture. In this text we will present relevant texts dedicated to philosophy and topics related to philosophy, like meditation, mysticism, ethics, or psychology
Stvarnost laži
A lie is neither a false proposition, nor a mistake, nor a mere fiction; it is a type of fiction, an act, and precisely an intentional act. An act calls for a subject, and therefore a lie is inseparable from its subject. Together, they make up a real object: it has to be real, since a lie produces effects, and the cause-effect relationship only holds between real beings. Like every real object, a lie unfolds in a (phenomenological) context. But there is more: it identifies a (dialectical) context
Idealna i neidealna teorija: konceptualni pregled
The article gives conceptual clarification on a distinction between ideal and nonideal theory by analyzing John Rawls´ theory as presented in his books “A Theory of Justice” and ”The Law of Peoples.“ The article tries to show the importance of ideal theory, while at the same time pointing out that the distinction, ideal and nonideal, needs further qualification. Further, the article also introduces the distinction of normative and descriptive into ideal and consequently nonideal theory. Through this four-fold distinction it is easier to establish the function of each theory and the separation of work-fields between philosophers, politicians and lawyers
Model for Research of the Style of Political Leadership in Serbia at the Crossing of the Millennium
