    Perception on Teachers Used as Accountant in Financial Management: A Case Study of Community Secondary Schools in Iringa District.

    The study aimed to determine the perception on teachers used as accountant in financial management: a case study of community secondary schools in Iringa district. The study was guided by three objectives namely, to identify the financial management roles of teachers used as accountants in community secondary schools to explain out the influence of financial training to teachers used as accountants in financial management activities and to determine the extent of Head of Schools (HoS‟s) mentorship to teachers used as accountant in financial management activities in community secondary schools. This school work was worthy conducted because of the following significance to assist the policy makers in education system to take effectual measure in upgrading and formulation of strategies determine the cause of efficiency to teachers used as accountants, roles of teachers as accountants, challenges faced, visualize relationships between fiscal training and efficiency to teachers used as accountants therefore take decisions. This school work employed a cross sectional research design and mixed method, research approach. Further, 85 respondents were included of which 17 were schools heads, 34 member of board and 34 teachers used as accountant. Simple random sampling was employed to get board members while purposive sampling technique was employed to acquire head of school sand teachers used as accountants. Question naire and. Interview was utilized for data collection. Descriptive statistics and linear Regression was used to analyze quantitative data where thematic analysis remained for qualitative data. The output show that, the financial management roles of teachers used as accountants in community secondary schools include: strategic planning, systematizing, directing, controlling and performing financial activities of a school, likely; keeping school records of funds in harmony with guideline and procedures . The challenges that face teachers used as accountant in financial management include limited time as they are required to teach and do financial management activities, also lack of training in financial management activities. Additionally, there was significant (p value = 0.000) influence of financial training to teachers used as accountants in financial management activities by 50.7% and the extent of HoS's mentorship to teachers used as accountant in financial management activities in ward secondary school is at 61%.     Assessing the Contribution of Task-Oriented Leadership in Enhancing Teaching Commitment in Tanzania Secondary Schools: A Case of Mpimbwe District, Tanzania.

    This study examined the contribution of head teachers‟ task-oriented leadership styles in enhancing teaching commitment among teachers in the provision of quality education in Tanzania secondary schools a case of Mpimbwe District. Specifically, it intended to identify task-oriented leadership styles commonly applied by head teachers in Mpimbwe Secondary schools, to examine teachers‟ commitment on their head teachers‟ leadership style in Mpimbwe Secondary schools, and to examine the impact of head teachers‟ task-oriented leadership styles on teacher's commitment in Secondary schools. The study employed a case study research design along with a mixed research approach. 96 respondents were involved in the study. Head teachers, education officers, and education ward coordinators were purposively selected while teachers were randomly selected. Questionnaires, interviews, documentary review, and focus group discussions were used for data collection. Qualitative data were analyzed by means of content analysis and statistical package for social sciences version 20 for quantitative data respectively. The study results revealed that task oriented leadership style is the common leadership style used in Mpimbwe secondary schools. It was also revealed that Mpimbwe teachers have both positive and negative perceptions towards head teachers‟ task-oriented leadership style. The study further revealed that head teachers‟ task-oriented leadership style influences teachers‟ commitment. The study concluded that teacher commitment depends on the leadership style applied by the school heads.     The Role of School Inspectors in Enhancing Academic Performance of Secondary Schools in Newala Town Council.

    This study assessed the role of school inspectors in enhancing academic performance of secondary schools in Newala Town Council. The study aimed to: examine teachers’ perceptions on school inspectors’ behaviors in schools; examine the ways of school inspectors in enhancing students’ academic performance; explore characteristics of school inspections that contribute to the improvement of the educational quality of schools. The study was grounded in Scientific Management Theory. It employed descriptive research design and mixed methods to collect data through questionnaires and interviews. Data were collected from 85 respondents and school Documentary review. The findings revealed that teachers held positive perceptions on school inspectors’ behaviours (e.g. inspecting schools every academic year, providing advice on how to improve teaching and cooperating with teachers to improve students learning) in schools. It was also revealed that school inspectors enhance academic performance in the following ways: providing advice to teachers, providing recommendations, making follow ups and supporting teachers in enhancing students’ academic performance. Moreover, continuous monitoring and checking of classroom activities were the characteristics of school inspection which enhance the educational quality of schools. The study recommended school inspectors to maintain professionalism when inspecting schools and also demonstrate how to teach topics that are more challenging to teachers.     Challenges Faced By Small And Medium Enterprises in Accessing Finance in Tanzania: The Case of Selected Small Enterprises Bank Customers in Dar es Salaam.

    The study assesses challenges facing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in accessing finance in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The study assessed causative factors that fostering access to finance by SMEs from banks in Tanzania. Three independent variables were identified being limited awareness, limited collateral and limited formal planning. The study employed causal relationship approach by means of relationship testing between variables. Data were generated from GTB customers as SMEs from the sample of 79 respondents gathered through structured questionnaire. The collected data was processed using SPSS version 23.0 to generate relevant statistics to present primary data. The study used descriptive statistics to illustrate respondents profile in terms of age, gender and education level. Correlation and multiple regression analysis was used to illustrate the existing relationship of the study variables. Study results showed that all three independent variables namely limited formal planning, limited collaterals and limited awareness revealed positive relationship with significant effect on access to finance. This therefore implies that access to finance in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from banks is affected by limited formal planning, limited collaterals and limited awareness. Finally, the study findings suggest that government should formulate policies and directives that will foster formalization of enterprises in terms of keeping financial records to attract lending decisions by the banks.     Legal Aspects of Abuse of Police Powers in Tanzania.

    This study explains legal aspects of abuse of police powers in Tanzania. It looks at international aspects of Police policing in relation to the legal framework of Tanzania Police and its legitimacy, responsibilities and how police powers are controlled. The study explains the concepts of law enforcement and how such concepts relate with regional environment of law enforcement in Tanzania. It also explains and defines what acts when done amounts to abuse of Police Powers and other types of aggressive conducts like social conflict. The objectives of the study are to examine how police powers are regulated and controlled to evade abuse; to identify and examine instances of abuse of police powers that lead to criminal and civil actions against the police and to suggest possible solutions that may help to overcome abuse of police powers and avoid criminal and civil actions against the police individually or as institution. The study answers several questions such as; what is the legal regime that regulates police powers, and what acts amount to abuse of police powers. In so doing, it explains professional conducts and ethics for law enforcement officials and community policing. The study employs doctrinal methodology and suggests best options available to avoid abuse of police powers and observes that law enforcement work is not a mathematical science that leads to clear-cut answers. The study discusses a wide range of situations which expose the force to conflicting interests and proposes the solution to avoid such conflict. The study accorded a degree of discretion, which places considerable responsibility on the law enforcement work making appropriate choices.     Assessment of Facebook Platform Efficacy in Promoting Youth Start-up in Selected Wards of Dodoma Region, Tanzania.

    This study aimed assessed Facebook platform efficacy in promoting youth start-up in selected wards in Dodoma Region, Tanzania. Specifically: to explore how effective Facebook Marketing is in promoting youth start-ups, to examine the different ways youth use in finding correct customers through Facebook, to explore people’s perception and attitudes towards youth start-ups advertisement through Facebook and to examine challenges that youth face when using Facebook for start-ups. This study used both qualitative and quantitative approach and led by a cross-sectional research design. The sample size of the study was 100 respondents and quantitative data collected through questionnaire were analysed by means of descriptive statistics, while qualitative data collected through in-depth interviews and documentary review were analysed by means of thematic analysis. The findings indicated that the vast majority of respondents used social media platform, agreed that social media platform was convenient and ease of access, cost effective, and simple. Moreover, lack of experience on the use of social media marketing was a challenge to the youth in Dodoma. It was concluded that social media has great effectiveness in marketing promotions in youth start-up business. Furthermore, findings have shown that lack of expertise in Facebook marketing plan was among the challenge’s youth faced that hindered their start-up adverts through Facebook platform. It is recommended that to start-up owners on social media in business messages should identify clearly the potential customer. Furthermore, the government and public sector should collaborate in order to empower youth start-up owners through training and workshop to gain experience.     Influence of Entrepreneurship Education on Employability of Graduates from Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Tanzania: The Moderating Role of Self-Efficacy.

    The study aimed to examine the influence of entrepreneurship education items of knowledge, training and competence on the employability of Technical and Vocational Education and Training graduates in Tanzania using self-efficacy as a moderating variable. The Human Capital Theory and Self-efficacy Theories were employed to inform the theoretical framework. The research was conducted in Tanzania under a survey strategy that employed 353 respondents. The Convenience and snowball sampling techniques were used to gather representative. Structural Equation Modelling was used to test the postulated hypothesis of the study. All relevant model assumptions were tested to ensure that the estimates were not biased by their deviations in the data. The moderation analysis on self-efficacy was conducted using the multi-group moderation technique using Structural Equation Modelling was used. The findings showed that entrepreneurship knowledge, training and competence positively and significantly influence graduates’ employability. The results of the multi-group moderation analysis suggest a positive and insignificant effect on the relationship of entrepreneurship knowledge and employability, while suggesting positive and significant moderating effect on entrepreneurship training and competence on employability of graduates. The study concluded that, Human Capital Theory can be moderated by the levels of self-efficacy, hence improves its ability to predict employability. In summarily, results indicated that, entrepreneurship competence contributes more on graduate’s employability than others. Thus, study recommends training institutions to focus on building entrepreneurial competence to endure graduates’ employability.     Assessment on the Effectiveness of Strategies Used by the Judiciary of Tanzania to Retain its Employees, a case study of various court institutions in Lake Zone region

    This study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of strategies used by the Judiciary of Tanzania to retain its employees. It was guided by specific objectives such as to find out the effects of work-life balance on employee retention in the judicial departments, to find out the effects of training and development on employee retention in the judicial department and to find out the effects of employees’ engagement on the employees’ retention in the judicial department. This study followed a quantitative research design whereby 183 questionnaires were administered to the respondents obtain simple random sampling. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. The study found that that work–life balance describes the state of balance where a person equally prioritizes the demands of one’s career and the demand of the personal life, this is the idea of blending work responsibility and personal responsibilities. Moreover, it was revealed that training and development means the educational activities within an organization that are designed to improve the job performance of individuals or groups of employees. On the other hand, employee engagement was considered as the degree to which employee invest their cognitive, emotional and behavioural energies towards positive organizational outcomes. This implies that retention of employees in the judicial department depends highly on the presence of practices such as work-life balance, training and development and employee engagement. In the same vein this study will enhances policy formulation and development in the area of human resource management taking into account the change of working environment.     Effect of Training and Development on Social Security Funds employee’s performance.

    Through training and development, an organization can effectively adopt new business rules and deal with technological changes and challenges. With a focus on the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Mbeya Region, this study assessed the effect of training and development on the performance of Social Security Fund employees. Quantitative approach was followed by this study, and the research design used in the study was explanatory, 24 employees were chosen as the sample size using Yamane’s Formula (1967). The target population at NSSF Mbeya Region consisted of all 32 employees. There was use of both primary and secondary sources. A questionnaire was used to get the respondents’ pertinent and essential information. Using SPSS version 25, descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data that had been gathered. The findings revealed that training and development improve worker’s ability to perform well, quality of work improved at NSSF Mbeya, as well as team collaboration. Based on the findings, the study concluded that both on and off the Job training are crucial in promoting employee performance, training affects employee working competitiveness and experience hence improving performance in various tasks they are engaged. Employee training and development tend to increase profitability, improve knowledge and skills of the job among employees in all sectors of the organization. It is recommended that the Management of NSSF Mbeya need to ensure training strategies enhance employee’s motivation for superior performance and not only aligned to productivity

    Examining the Challenges Hindering Business Success of Small Entrepreneurs in Fishery Sector in Muleba District

    The purpose of this study was to examine the challenges facing the success of small-scale fishery in Muleba District. From the literature review and the gap that was identified, the study came up with three specific research objectives which were proposed in the conceptual framework to encompass three main variables namely, economic challenges, technological challenges and environmental challenges. The objectives were (i) to examine economic challenge hindering business success of small entrepreneurs in fishery sector in Muleba district, (ii) to examine environmental challenges hindering business success of small entrepreneurs in fishery sector in Muleba district and (iii) to examine technological factors hindering business success of small entrepreneurs in fishery sector in Muleba district. The study issued a questionnaire which was composed of 357 respondents who were mainly fishermen, boat owners, fish sellers and a few government officers in the fishing department in Muleba. Data was analysed in mean values and standard deviation and also regression analysis. A multiple regression analysis as the final set of data analysis revealed that economic, environmental and technological challenges were negatively related to the success of small-scale fishery in Muleba District. These findings are important in two ways; first the study extends knowledge in fishery in an area which has been less studied. Second, the study is useful to various policy makers in the government especially in marine sector and aquatic animals especially to know where support is needed to improve the fishery sector
