In recent years, several areas in South Sumatra have experienced the uneven impacts of climate change, especially forest fires and drought. Reflecting on the environmental problems that occur, this is closely related to the behavior of the community. Therefore, climate change education must be provided from the beginning, especially to young learners. THE SYMBOLIC REPRESENTATION OF ULOS IN BATAK CULTURE: AN ECOLINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE
This research investigates the symbolic representation of the ulos in Batak culture from an ecolinguistic perspective, highlighting its role as a cultural artifact deeply intertwined with language, tradition, and the environment. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with weavers, Raja Perhata (cultural experts), and traditional leaders who possess deep knowledge of the ulos. The study focuses on specific Toba Batak ulos, such as Ragi Hidup, Ragi Hotang, and Sibolang, each symbolizing unique aspects of Batak values and worldviews. Ragi Hidup conveys blessings for happiness, offspring, and longevity, particularly during wedding ceremonies, while Ragi Hotang is associated with respect and honor, and Sibolang signifies the act of paying homage. These symbolic meanings are intricately embedded in the patterns, colors, and material composition of the ulos, reflecting their significance in Batak society. The findings reveal that the ulos is not merely a textile but a vessel of cultural meaning, encompassing prayers for prosperity, social status, and well-being. Through the lens of ecolinguistics, this study demonstrates how the ulos, as a cultural symbol, contributes to the sustainability of Batak traditions by encoding and perpetuating ecological and social values within its symbolic framework. The research underscores the critical importance of preserving these traditional symbols to maintain the cultural heritage and identity of the Bataknese people while offering broader insights into the role of language and culture in sustaining community values

A NARRATIVE INVESTIGATION ON TPACK ENGLISH TEACHERS’PROFICIENCIES
Abstract: The introduction of the Merdeka curriculum has brought significant changes in the curriculum, particularly in terms of the autonomy and flexibility of teachers’ teaching especially regarding to digital literacy. The Merdeka curriculum is based on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, which seeks to integrate subject expertise, pedagogical skills, and technological content. Despite extensive research on TPACK, there is a noticeable gap in qualitative studies that explore teacher experiences and perceptions, particularly in the context of Indonesia’s Merdeka curriculum. The novelty of this research lies in its methodological approach—using Narrative Inquiry to explore the experiences of English teachers. This approach provides a deeper, more nuanced understanding of how teachers perceive and implement TPACK in their classrooms. To gain a comprehensive understanding of this issue, we examined 50 teachers from various regions in West Java. Our findings indicate that a significant portion of teachers (55%) have successfully incorporated technology in their teaching practices. Furthermore, the majority of teachers (84%) feel confident utilizing efficient teaching strategies and delivering targeted content (80%). We note that a large percentage of teachers (76%) exhibit proficiency in integrating technology into the teaching-learning process, while also acknowledging their proficiency in technology, pedagogy, and content (79%).However, we also identified several obstacles such as internet connectivity issues, which were identified as a significant potential hindrance (68%), students' unfamiliarity with the application (20%), and data quota limitations (5%) as restrictions. A minor yet distinguished percentage illuminated issues such as school procedures (3%), lack of access to smartphones (2%), and indecision in using LCD facilities (2%) as pitching factors that hinder the smooth merging of technology into teaching and learning. Based on the available evidence, it can be inferred that despite facing several obstacles, a majority of teachers have demonstrated a high level of confidence in their ability to implement digital literacy TPACK-related skills. These skills are essential for promoting effective teaching and learning in a digital age. However, it is important to note that the challenges faced by teachers in this regard cannot be ignored. To ensure that teachers are adequately equipped to navigate these challenges, it is essential to provide them with appropriate training and support. Moreover, the result of this study could contribute to the field of English language teaching, educational technology, and policymaking in education

DEVELOPING AND VALIDATING THE ELEMENTARY STUDENT LEARNING AGILITY SCALE (ESLAS) FOR MEASURING KEY LEARNING TRAITS IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
This study aimed to develop elementary student learning agility scale (ESLAS) to measure elementary school students’ perseverance, tenacity, interest, and independence in accomplishing learning process. This study also focused on examining translational validity and internal consistency reliability to construct a valid and reliable scale. There were 90 elementary students chosen using voluntary random sampling as the respondents and five experts invited as the validators. The study developed ESLAS using a five-point Likert’s scaling method with twenty items measured. Data obtained from ESLAS were used to examine internal consistency reliability while data from validation sheet were used to judge content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR). Results showed that the developed ESLAS was considered very valid by the validators (CVI = +1.00, CVR = 1.00) and was categorized in a very high reliability (Cronbach’s α = .879). Another result depicted that there was no negative value in inter-item correlation, meaning that all items measured similar construct. The results implied that the developed ESLAS is considered as a valid and reliable scale to measure elementary students’ learning agility.
