Review of Research on Management Innovation and Innovation Management: A Bibliometric Analysis

Much research regarding innovation management (IM) and management innovation (MI) were used interchangeably, even though both terms referred to two different meanings. This, in turn, causes obscurity in an attempt to clearly understand the essence of each term. This study is carried out with the objective to map the development of the research of IM and MI over the years simultaneously and separately using systematic search and bibliometric analysis. Our results discover that the publication for both terms increased over the years. Our general results show that most encountered keywords are mostly different for both terms. However, it then discovered that the terms ‘knowledge management’, which is associated with ‘organizational learning’, appeared in the top 5 most encountered keywords for both terms. This finding opens up new insights that deserve deeper investigation regarding the grand concept and its mechanism of action in the future.Much research regarding innovation management (IM) and management innovation (MI) were used interchangeably, even though both terms referred to two different meanings. Promoting Entrepreneurial Universities in India: A Case Study of IIT Madras

Entrepreneurial Universities (EUs) are gaining increasing significance across the globe, as a source of deep-tech start-ups. EUs through the generation of knowledge-based entrepreneurship, along with teaching and research, are emerging as a new source of deep-tech startups in the developed world. Among the emerging economies, India has the potential to emerge as the leading Start-up Nation globally. If an increasing number of deep-tech start-ups has to emerge from India, it is imperative to consciously and explicitly promote EUs. However, EUs are a new phenomenon and efforts to promote EUs are at their infancy in India as of now. Though India pursues an exclusive “startup promotion policy” at the national level as well as at the regional levels since the middle of the last decade, there is no explicit emphasis on EUs yet. Against this backdrop, this article explores the evolution of IIT Madras as an EU along with its Research Park, its major entities, their interrelationship, and role they play in the generation of deep-tech start-ups. Subsequently, the article proposes an EU structure for deep-tech startups, in the context of IIT Madras. Finally, the article brings out how IIT Madras has gained Sustainable Competitive Advantage through its EU and then derives policy implications for the promotion of EUs

All of the world\u27s productive sectors are being impacted by the phenomenon known as digitalization, but different economies are experiencing this phenomenon in different ways due to a variety of internal and external factors at play in the businesses. According to official statistics, they make up 97% of the nation\u27s commercial fabric and generate a sizable amount of employment (about 60%) and gross domestic product (GDP) for the nation. By categorizing Paraguayan MSMEs by economic sector, size, and age, the goal of this paper is to examine the influence of digitalization drivers in this context. In order to achieve this purpose, data was collected through a survey during the months of April to September 2022. The findings show that MSMEs\u27 owners value the key forces influencing digitization. On the other hand, they point out to the fact that varied behaviors are displayed depending on the business sector, size, and age of the company, which calls for specialized tactics and attention to improve digitalization in MSMEs

The Effect of Dynamic Capabilities on MSMEs Digitalization: Exploring the Moderating Role of Firm Age

Digitalization is changing the way that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) adapt to survive in a turbulent environment. In this sense, certain capabilities are necessary to effectively identify opportunities to advance their technological adoption level. This paper seeks to provide a better understanding of how dynamic capabilities affect several aspects of the digital maturity of the firm. We employ a structural equation model to analyze how sensing and seizing capabilities affect the digitalization of MSMEs, taking advantage of a novel data set provided by the self-assessment tool Chequeo Digital in Ecuador. Our research focuses on dynamic capabilities in the MSMEs context, which represents a contribution due to the unique nature of these firms, enhancing our understanding of the effect of sensing and seizing on their digitalization level. The results show a positive and significant effect of sensing and seizing capabilities on the digitalization of MSMEs. Moreover, we found a negative and significant moderating effect of firm age, on the relationship between sensing capability and digitalization. The findings highlight the importance of an adequate process of identification and adoption of digital technologies that can be effectively applied in MSMEs. By developing sensing and seizing capabilities firms may take advantage of opportunities, and ultimately reconfigure the business to quickly adapt to the future advances of upcoming digital technologies

The Evolution of Project-Based Organizations: A Bibliometric Analysis and Literature Review

This study explores the evolution of research within project-based organizations, uncovering new trends and identifying promising directions for future inquiries. Employing a comprehensive six-step methodology that combines bibliometric and content analyses, this research assessed term frequency, conceptual interconnections, influential contributors, geographic clusters, and dominant themes shaping the field. The dual-tool strategy using VosViewer and SciMAT enhanced the reliability and depth of our bibliometric analysis, allowing for a nuanced understanding of the interlinks between concepts and the chronological progression of terms. Data from 1,066 papers published between 2000 and 2022, extracted from the Scopus database, were analyzed to visualize six clusters based on 180 frequently used keywords. This analysis not only highlighted the multidisciplinary nature of project-based organization studies, focusing on “project management,” “knowledge management,” and “project-based learning,” but also revealed 28 key terms associated with the project-based organization cluster, emphasizing robust connections to knowledge transfer and management. Additionally, Google Trends analysis showed a growing interest in the topic among non-scholars, mirroring the academic attention it receives. Content analysis of seminal papers, selected based on citations, aligned with the term chronology from the broader sample, pinpointing several vital research directions. This research stands out for its innovative approach, combining dual-tool bibliometric analysis with content analysis to address a significant gap in the literature. It offers reliable and robust results, bridging the disconnect between quantitative data synthesis and qualitative insights to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the field. This study explores the evolution of research within project-based organizations, uncovering new trends and identifying promising directions for future inquiries.
