Startup Success Prediction with PCA-Enhanced Machine Learning Models
This study evaluates the effectiveness of various machine learning algorithms in predicting startup success and explores the performance improvement achieved by applying Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to the models. By analyzing logistic regression, support vector classifier (SVC), XGBoost, and other supervised learning algorithms, the study demonstrates that PCA enhances the generalization performance of most models. Notably, Support Vector Classifier (SVC) showed an accuracy of 0.78, precision of 0.83, recall of 0.73, and F1 score of 0.74 without PCA, but performance significantly improved with PCA, recording an accuracy of 0.90, precision of 0.90, recall of 0.89, and F1 score of 0.89. Academically, this research contributes to the literature by examining how dimension reduction can boost the accuracy of machine learning models for startup success prediction, providing a valuable intersection of machine learning and venture capital studies. Practically, it offers investors AI-driven decision- making tools to enhance the precision of investment evaluations and better identify startups with high growth potential. Despite its contributions, this study is limited by the specific dataset used, suggesting that future research could explore various datasets and alternative dimension reduction techniques. Future studies could also assess real-time data application and incorporate deep learning models to improve predictive performance in startup success evaluation
Profitability, Customer, Operations, And Logistics Management in MSMEs During The COVID-19 Pandemic
This study analyzes the effects of customer management and operations/logistics management with suppliers on the profitability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during the COVID-19 health crisis in Costa Rica. The researchers collected data between February and May 2021 and used a multinomial regression model to test their theoretical model. The results indicate that higher perceived problems in customer-firm relationships and operations/logistics management significantly impact the profitability of MSMEs. Notably, small and medium enterprises are more affected in terms of profitability than microenterprises when facing more significant issues in customer management. The study underscores the importance of enhancing operational capacity during crises and highlights the need for managers to acquire new competencies to face future adverse scenarios
The Determining Factors in the Implementation of Industry 4.0 in Argentine SMEs
The I40 represents a new paradigm in the production of goods and services of companies, through the unification of digital technologies and the Internet with conventional industry. The objective of this work is to analyze the determinants of the implementation of the I40 in SMEs. In particular, we study the effect on implementation of factors such as size, sen-iority, gender, level of technical training of management, the presence in the SME of an internal I40 manager and whether it is a family business or No. To this end, an attempt was made to develop an empirical study based on a sample of 1,142 Argentine SMEs. As a methodological strategy, a model was defined to be developed in two stages. In the first, a confirmatory factor analysis was proposed to determine the latent variable: I40 per com-pany, and in the second, a linear regression model was developed based on the variables chosen as probable determinants. The main results allow us to affirm that the age and size of the organization can have a favorable implication for the incorporation of I40 tools. We also found a positive association between the male sex of management, the manager\u27s training in related technical issues and the presence of an internal person responsible for the digitalization process, in the implementation of technologies associated with the I40. At the same time, we do not find. a significant relationship between the implementation of the I40 model and the family business. The conclusions may be useful for directing public promotion policies on the youngest and smallest companies and facilitating their possibili-ties of incorporating the new production paradigm, as well as the formulation of policies with a gender perspective.

Contractor Companies’ Small Projects Facing Mining 4.0 in Chile: How Risky Is the Implementation of Industry 4.0 for Them?
Despite the relevance of Chile’s mining industry, risk models applied to contracts have not been intensively developed. This is a quantitative exploratory research, which focuses on the results of a novel risk assessment methodology applied for the analysis of potential industry 4.0 technologies to be implemented by contractor companies in Chile’s mining sector.
In this paper, an overview about mining 4.0 was done and Chile’s large mining companies were analyzed during 2021-2022, obtaining contracts information from a relevant copper producer. A case was selected to apply the model and semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with the stakeholders involved in this industry.
Based on our results we found small contracts concentrated the largest number of low and moderate- priority projects, but also the largest number of high-priority contracts. However, it seems to be that big projects are riskier than small projects under the future effects of Industry 4.0 technologies

Digital Behavior and Impact on Employee Performance: Evidence from Indonesia
The digital divide makes it difficult for companies to find workers with digital skills. Usually occurs in developing countries, including Indonesia. Therefore, analyzing and investigating digital human resource behavior and performance is necessary. This research aims to investigate and analyze digital behavior and employee performance. The study used an explanatory survey method, carried out from March 2023 – May 2023, at a state company owned by the Indonesian government. The total sample is 149 employees. Data collection uses a questionnaire converted into G-form and distributed with the help of social media. The questionnaire was tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression. The research results found three dimensions/sub-variables of digital behavior, and we named them digital knowledge & skills, availability of digital technology, and adoption of digital technology innovation. These three dimensions positively impact employee performance, especially the performance of employees belonging to Generation Z. This research also proves that digital behavior in the workplace can be developed if there is support from leadership, availability of technology, and increasing adoption by learning from each other among employees. In the future, this research needs to be continued from the perspective of leaders and consumers
