Pemanfaatan daun Indigofera zollingeriana sebagai bahan pakan ikan patin (Pangasius sp.)
Abstract. The feed is one of the components that support the growth and survival in fish culture. One of the alternative feed ingredients which could use as other feed ingredient was Indigofera zollingeriana leaves. The aims of this research was to determine the use of Indigofera zollingeriana leaves on the growth performance of Patin (Pangasius sp.). This research consisted of five treatments and three replications. Indigofera zollingeriana leaves were used in the diet amount of P0 (0%) (without Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition ), P1 (10% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition), P2 (20% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition), P3 (30% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition), and P4 (40% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition). The result showed that the use of Indigofera zollingeriana leaves had a significant effect on the fish growth performance. The use of 20% zollingeriana Indigofera produced the best results of the absolute weight of 2.15 g, 1.00% daily growth rate and feed efficiency of 44.60%.Keywords: Patin, feed ingredient, Indigofera zollingeriana leaveAbstrak. Pakan merupakan komponen yang menunjang pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup dalam budidaya ikan. Salah satu bahan baku alternatif yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pakan ikan yaitu daun Indigofera zollingeriana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan daun Indigofera zollingeriana terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan pada ikan patin. Penelitian ini terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan penggunaan daun Indigofera zollingeriana terdiri dari P0(0%) (tanpa penambahan daun Indigofera zollingeriana), P1 (penambahan daun Indigofera zollingeriana 10%), P2 (penambahan daun Indigofera zollingeriana 20%), P3 (penambahan daun Indigofera zollingeriana 30%), dan P4 (penambahan daun Indigofera zollingeriana 40%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan daun Indigofera zollingeriana menunjukkan kinerja pertumbuhan pada ikan patin. Penambahan Indigofera zollingeriana sebanyak 20% menghasilkan hasil terbaik yaitu pertumbuhan bobot mutlak sebesar 2,15 g, laju pertumbuhan harian 1,00% serta efisiensi pakan sebesar 44,60%.Kata Kunci: Bahan pakan, daun Indigofera zollingeriana, ikan pati
The dynamics of target fishes resources in coral reef fisheries at coastal area of Ternate Island
Abstract. As one of the coastal ecosystem, coral reef ecosystem is a magnificent marine ecosystem, where their species richness and composition play an important role for the ability of coral reef ecosystem to respond to the fishing activity and other stressors, where fishing has impacted the fish community, target or non-target reef fish species. The dynamic of reef fish resources, especially the target species, become one of the aspects that must be considered in the management and utilization of the fisheries resources in the coral reef ecosystem and their surrounding area. The purpose of the study was to analyze the dynamics of the target fish in the coral reef fishing activity at the coastal area of Ternate Island, from the growth, mortality and exploitation ratio aspect. The research was conduct from April to August 2018 in the coastal area of Ternate Island. The data sampling was growth parameters data through length and weight measurement. Total sample measure along the research time was 6245 sample (consist of seven family and 11 species). The result shows that the target fish have asymptotic length (L) range from 263.16483.16 mm, with growth coefficient (K) ranging from 0.610.92 per year. The theoretic age at length 0 (t0) ranges from minus 0.08250.1669 year (equal to 30-61 day). The fishing mortality rate (F) is lower than the natural mortality rate (M), which resulting the exploitation rate (E) for the target fish mostly under 50%, which indicated that the utilization of the reef fishes in the coastal area of Ternate Island is still under-exploited.Keywords: Exploitation rate, Growth parameters, Length-weight relationship, Mortality rate, Stock assessmen
Ratio of coral reefs to macroalgae: An ecosystem approach management
Abstract. The decline in the quality of coral reef ecosystems is not only caused by human activities but also caused by competition in ecosystems, including competition for space and nutrients. Research on the comparison of coral reefs with macroalgae is one of the determinants of coral reef health which is the basis for the management of coral reefs with an ecosystem approach. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison of coral reef cover with macroalgae. The research method used is Line Intercept Transect (LIT), the research location is 13 stations divided into 3 locations, namely north, centre, and south from Ternate Island in North Maluku. The results showed that the condition of coral reefs ranged from 24 86.60%, based on the condition categories of 13 observation locations, the coral reefs of Ternate Island were in very good condition at 15.38%, good conditions at 46.16%, adequate conditions at 30.77%, and damaged conditions 7.69%, while the condition of macroalgae cover ranged from 0 - 30.60% in the area of coral reef ecosystems. The ratio of the of coral reefs to algae ranges from 0 to 1.117, based on the ratio value, it is classified as low, medium to high, spread in the coral reef ecosystem of Ternate Island. Coral reef management strategies on Ternate Island include a continuous monitoring program for coral reef ecosystems, education on coral reef ecosystems, creating a conscious community of waste, and limiting the capture and restoking of herbivorous fish in coral reef areas.Keywords: Coral reef, ecosystem approach management, macroalgae, Ternate Islan
Induksi pemijahan ikan wader pari (Rasbora argyrotaenia) menggunakan Ovaprim TM dengan dosis berbeda
Abstract. Silver rasbora (Rasbora argyrotaenia) has become one of the freshwater culture commodities that have high economic value. Research on the use of Ovaprim to the induction of spawning of silver rasbora needs to be done as an effort to develop the technology of fish hatchery. This study aims to determine the effect of using Ovaprim and its optimal dosage on the induction of silver rasbora spawning. This research was conducted at the Wet Laboratory Airlangga University Banyuwangi campus in March to May 2018. Ovaprim was applicated using intramuscular injection method following the treatment design was used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications namely P0: Without Ovaprim (control); P1: dose of 0,3 mL /kg fish weight; P2: dose of 0,5 mL/kg fish weight; P3: dose of 0,7 mL/kg weight of fish. The parameters observed in this study were fecundity, egg diameter, fertilization rate, hatching rate and larval survival rate. Induction of silver rasbora spawning using Ovaprim has an effect on fecundity and fertilization rate but has no effect on hatching rate, survival rate and egg diameter. The optimal dose of Ovaprim on the induction of spawning of silver rasbora is 0,7 mL/kg weight of fish with the highest fecundity value compared to other treatments.Keywords: fecundity, egg diameter, hatching rate, survival rateAbstrak. Ikan wader pari (Rasbora argyrotaenia) telah menjadi salah satu komoditas budidaya air tawar yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Penelitian mengenai penggunaan Ovaprim dalam induksi pemijahan ikan wader pari perlu dilakukan sebagai upaya pengembangan teknologi pembenihan ikan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan Ovaprim dan menentukan dosis optimalnya pada induksi pemijahan ikan wader pari. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Basah PSDKU Universitas Airlangga Banyuwangi pada bulan Maret sampai Mei 2018. Aplikasi Ovaprim menggunakan metode injeksi intramuskular mengikuti desain perlakuan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan yaitu P0 : Tanpa pemberian Ovaprim (kontrol), P1 : dosis 0,3 mL/kg bobot ikan, P2 : dosis 0,5 mL/kg bobot ikan, P3 : dosis 0,7 mL/kg bobot ikan. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah fekunditas, diameter telur, derajat fertilisasi, derajat penetasan telur dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva. Induksi pemijahan ikan wader pari menggunakan Ovaprim memberikan pengaruh terhadap fekunditas dan derajat fertilisasi namun tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap derajat penetasan telur, tingkat kelangsungan dan diameter telur. Dosis optimal Ovaprim pada induksi pemijahan ikan wader pari yaitu 0,7 mL/ kg bobot ikan dengan nilai fekunditas tertinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya. Kontaminasi Senyawa Polisiklik Aromatik Hidrokarbon (PAH) dalam Sedimen Di DAS Gending, Probolinggo
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are very toxic and persistent environmental contaminants. This study were carried out in Gending watershed Probolinggo in March 2014, the propose of this research was to known the concentrations and possible sources of 16 PAHs (Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) classified by the United State Environmental Protection Agency as priority pollutants. Sediment samples were taken by using a sediment sampler at 6 research stations. The concentration of PAH were determined using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and the sources using individual ratio diagnose method. The results show that the concentration of PAHs in sediment still low and fixed with the safe threshold values for waters organisms. Individual PAH dominated by high molecule weight PAHs. The results of PAHs ratio individual analysis showed that PAHs sources in sediment derived from a variety of sources such as; oil spill, oil combustion and combustion of organic materials. To reduce the level of PAHs pollution in sediment in Gending watersheds need to make efficiency in using of fossil fuel, reduce oil spill and combustion of oil and organic materials and implementing of laws and sanctions against polluters
Hubungan panjang berat dan faktor kondisi tiram (Crassostrea gigas) di Kawasan Estuari Tibang dan Ulee Lheue, Kota Banda Aceh
Study on the length-weight relationships and condition factors of oyster (Crassostrea gigas) has been done in Tibang and Ulee Lheue estuary areas, Banda Aceh for 4 months starting from July to October 2017. The objective of the study was to observe the condition of oysters in Banda Aceh City. The sampling method used line transect, where each sampling location is divided into 3 stations. Length-weight relationship analysis was performed using Linear Allometric Model (LAM). The result of the analysis of Length-weight relationship in Tibang and Ulee Lheue waters of Banda Aceh City shows the average value of 1.92 and 1.97 (negative allometric). The K value shows at Tibang location (5.07) higher than Ulee Lheue (4.98). Based on the mean value Wr indicates that Ulee Lheue (103.92) has a higher value than Tibang (102.60). The conclusion of K and Wr values shows that the environment in the research location is still stable, so it can be concluded that Tibang and Ulee Lheue waters can still support the life of oysters.Penelitian tentang hubungan panjang berat dan faktor kondisi tiram (Crassostrea gigas) telah dilakukan di kawasan estuari Tibang dan Ulee Lheue, Kota Banda Aceh selama 4 bulan dimulai dari Juli hingga Oktober 2017. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk melihat kondisi tiram di Kota Banda Aceh. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan transek garis, dimana pada setiap lokasi sampling dibagi atas 3 stasiun. Analisis hubungan panjang berat dilakukan menggunakan Linear Allometric Model (LAM). Hasil analisis hubungan panjang berat di perairan Tibang dan Ulee Lheue Kota Banda Aceh menunjukkan nilai b rerata 1,92 dan 1,97 (alometrik negatif). Adapun nilai K menunjukkan rerata pada lokasi Tibang (5,07) lebih tinggi berbanding Ulee Lheue (4,98). Berdasarkan nilai rata-rata Wr menunjukkan bahwa perairan Ulee Lheue (103,92) memiliki nilai lebih tingi bebanding perairan Tibang (102,60). Adapun kesimpulan nilai K dan Wr menunjukkan keadaan lingkungan pada lokasi penelitian masih dalam keadaan stabil, sehingga dapat disimpulkan perairan Tibang dan Ulee Lheue masih dapat mendukung kehidupan tiram
Keragaman dan pengelompokan ikan berdasarkan karakter morfologi di ekosistem Bendungan Colo Sukoharjo Jawa Tengah
The objective of the present study was to determine the diversity fishes in Colo Dam ecosystem and grouping its based on morphological characteristics. Sampling was conducted in September to October 2017 at Sukoharjo Colo Dam Central Java used the purposive random sampling method. Identification of fish species based Kottelat (1993). The diversity of fish was calculated using Shannon Wiener's diversity index. The relationship between abiotic factors and the diversity of fish was analyzed by regression test. Grouped fish with the Ntsys cluster method (2.02i). The results showed that the diversity of Colo Dam fish at station III was higher (1.16) than at stations I, II, and IV (0.84, 0.82, and 1.15), the abiotic factors affecting the diversity of fish species, and fish species that have large morphological equations have a high coefficient of similarity value in dendogram analysis.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman dan pengelompokan ikan pada di Bendungan Colo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober 2017 di Bendungan Colo Sukoharjo menggunakan metode Purposive sampling. Identifikasi spesies ikan berdasarkan Kottelat (1993). Keanekaragaman ikan dihitung menggunakan indeks keragaman Shannon Wiener. Hubungan antar faktor abiotik dengan keanekaragaman ikan dianalisis dengan uji regresi. Pengelompokan ikan dengan metode cluster Ntsys (2.02i). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keragaman ikan Bendungan Colo di stasiun III lebih tinggi (1,16) dari pada stasiun I, II, dan IV (0,84; 0,82; dan 1,15), faktor abiotik mempengaruhi keanekeragaman jenis ikan, dan jenis-jenis ikan yang memiliki persamaan morfologi yang besar memiliki nilai koefisien kemiripan yang tinggi dalam analisis dendogram
Pola kemunculan ikan nike (Gobiidae) di Perairan Teluk Gorontalo, Indonesia
Nike fish is one of the fish species found in Gorontalo known to belong to the Gobiidae group. Nike is fishing intensively by local fishermen without considered sustainability aspect. Unfortunately, the comprehensive scientific data for the management purposes of nike fish was not yet available. Therefore, this study aims to assess the period of occurrence of nike fish in the Gorontalo Bay as the initiation of providing scientific information that supports sustainable management goal. Sampling was conducted from March to June 2018 using fish net. The results showed that the period of occurrence of nike fish every month starting from the bay area and move toward the estuary. The emergence of nike fish that began in the eastern part of Gorontalo Bay occurred in March, April, and May 2018. While the appearance of nike fish that started from the western area of the bay occurred in June and July 2018. It was concluded that the duration of occurrence of nike fish in the Gorontalo Bay occurs for 3 to 9 days at the end of the lunar phase.Nike merupakan salah satu spesies ikan yang ditemukan di Perairan Gorontalo yang dikenal berasal dari kelompok gobiidae. Kegiatan eksploitasi ikan nike oleh nelayan belum mempertimbangkan aspek kelestariannya di perairan berpotensi mengancam keberlanjutannya di perairan. Data ilmiah dan komprehensif yang dapat dijadikan acuan pengelolaan ikan nike belum tersedia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan periode kemunculan ikan nike di perairan Teluk Gorontalo sebagai inisiasi penyediaan informasi ilmiah yang mendukung arah pengelolaan yang berkelanjutan. Pengambilan sampel ikan di Perairan Teluk Gorontalo dilakukan pada Bulan Maret sampai Juni 2018 dengan menggunakan jaring ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa periode kemunculan ikan nike setiap bulan dimulai dari area teluk dan begerak ke arah muara. Kemunculan ikan nike yang dimulai di perairan Teluk Gorontalo bagian timur terjadi pada bulan Maret, April, dan Mei 2018. Sedangkan kemunculan ikan nike yang dimulai dari area barat teluk terjadi pada bulan Juni dan Juli 2018. Secara keseluruhan, durasi kemunculan ikan nike di perairan Teluk Gorontalo terjadi selama 3 sampai 9 hari di fase bulan akhir menjelang bulan baru
Status mutu air dan kandungan logam berat pada air dan sedimen di muara Krueng Aceh, Kota Banda Aceh
The aim of this research was to examine the status of water qaility of the Krueng Aceh estuary and heavy metal content in water and sediment. Data were taken by direct measurement in the field (in situ) and in the laboratory (ex situ). Three sampling stations were determined by purposive sampling, namely; in the left bank (nearest location with TPA), right bank (nearest location to market) and middle river (middle river area often passed by fisherman boat). Heavy metal analysis was conducted using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) method and water quality status determined by STORET method. Based on the research result showed that that water quality parameters that have passed the standard of PP RI No. 82 Year 2001 Group III is TDS with an average value of 3332.78 mg / L, Pb with an average value of 0.052 mg / L, and Cd with an average value of 0.015 mg / L. The quality status of Krueng Aceh estuary water is classified into a moderate polluted or class C with a score of -23. The highest heavy metal content found in water sample is Pb with concentration of 0.106 mg / L. While, the average value of Pb was 0.052 mg / L and Cd was 0.015 mg /L, its have passed the quality standard specified in PP RI no. No. 82 of 2001. In addition, the highest heavy metal content found in sediment was Zn with the concentration of 29.633 mg /kg and its average value was still below the standard set by ANZECC ISQG-Low.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui status mutu kualitas air muara Krueng Aceh dan kandungan logam berat yang terdapat pada air dan sedimen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Data parameter yang diambil melalui pengukuran langsung di lapangan (in situ) dan di laboratorium (ex situ). Penentuan stasiun sampling secara purposive, yaitu pada muara Krueng Aceh dengan menetapkan tiga titik sampling yaitu pada tepi kiri (lokasi terdekat dengan TPA), tepi kanan (lokasi terdekat dengan pasar) dan tengah sungai (daerah tengah aliran sungai yang sering dilalui boat nelayan). Analisis logam berat dilakukan dengan metode SSA (Spektrofometri Serapan Atom) dan status mutu air ditentukan dengan metode STORET. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui parameter kualitas air yang telah melewati baku mutu PP RI No 82 Tahun 2001 Golongan III adalah TDS dengan dengan nilai rata-rata 3332,78 mg/L, Pb dengan nilai rata-rata 0,052 mg/L, dan Cd dengan nilai rata-rata 0,015 mg/L. Status mutu air muara Krueng Aceh diklasifikasikan ke dalam tercemar sedang atau kelas C dengan skor -23. Kandungan logam berat tertinggi yang ditemukan pada sampel air di muara Krueng Aceh adalah Pb dengan konsentrasi 0,106 mg/L. Nilai rata-rata Pb 0,052 mg/L dan Cd 0,015 mg/L telah melewati baku mutu yang ditetapkan dalam PP RI No. 82 Tahun 2001. Kandungan logam berat tertinggi yang ditemukan pada sampel sedimen di muara Krueng Aceh adalah Zn dengan konsentrasi 29,633 mg/Kg dan nilai rata-ratanya masih berada di bawah baku mutu yang ditetapkan oleh ANZECC ISQG-Low
Ekosistem mangrove sebagai habitat kepiting bakau (Scylla Serrata) di Kampung Nipah Desa Sei Nagalawan Kecamatan Perbaungan Serdang Bedagai Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Highly Utilization of Mangrove field as cultivation field of fish and recreation and tour site by people have big posses to the abundance of Mangrove crab (Scylla serrata) because of mangrove play role as habitats of mangrove crabs. The research was conducted for two months from December 2016 to January 2017. This study aims to see the structure of mangrove vegetation, the abundance of Mangrove Crab and the influence of mangrove vegetation structure on the abundance of Mangrove Crab in Kampung Nipah. The results of this research are Vegetation structure of Mangrove in the station I and II show high density, whereas density in station III wide apart. The abundance of mangrove crab in the station I and II showed the higher result from station III. The Influence of Vegetation Structure of Mangrove and Abundance of Mangrove Crab can be related by using regression analysis Y = 0.0241x + 113.6. The correlation coefficient (r) that value obtained as 0.79 have a meaning the connection between mangrove density and abundance of mangrove crab are rated in the strong category that has a value 79%. The density of Mangrove to 1000 units will rise up the abundance of mangrove crab to 43.5 an individual.Tingginya pemanfaatan mangrove sebagai lahan budidaya ikan dan sebagai wisata rekreasi oleh masyarakat sangat mempengaruhi kelimpahan Kepiting Bakau (Scylla serrata) karena hutan mangrove merupakan habitat bagi Kepiting Bakau. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama dua bulan yaitu bulan Desember 2016 sampai Januari 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat struktur vegetasi mangrove, kelimpahan Kepiting Bakau dan pengaruh struktur vegetasi mangrove terhadap kelimpahan Kepiting Bakau di Kampung Nipah. Hasil dari penelitian struktur vegetasi mangrove di stasiun I dan II memiliki kerapatan sangat padat, sedangkaan kerapatan di stasiun III jarang. Kelimpahan Kepiting Bakau di Stasiun I dan II lebih tinggi dari kelimpahan di stasiun III. Pengaruh kerapatan mangrove dan kelimpahan Kepiting Bakau diperoleh persamaan regresi yaitu Y = 43,521 + 0,2061x. Koefisien korelasi (r) yang diperoleh 0,79 yang artinya hubungan kerapatan mangrove dan kelimpahan Kepiting Bakau tergolong kuat yaitu sebesar 79%. Kerapatan mangrove sebanyak 1000 satuan akan meningkatkan kelimpahan Kepiting Bakau sebesar 43,5 individu
