    THE GROWTH RESPONSE AND YIELD OF CIPLUKAN DUE TO GIVING PALM OIL ASH IN PEAT SOIL

    This study aims to determined the best dosage of palm oil ash on the growth and yield of ciplukan plants in peat soil. This study was conducted from 8th March 2019 – 8th June 2019 in the Faculty of Agriculture’s experimental garden, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method by one factor oil palm ash treatment consisting of 5 treatment levels, with 5 replications and every treatment there are 4 plant samples, so there were 100 plants. This study has treatment such as: a1 = 10 tons/ha equivalent to 200 g/polybag, a2 = 15 tons/ha equivalent to 300 g/polybag, a3 = 20 tons/ha equivalent to 400 g/polybag, a4 = 25 equivalent to 500 g/polybag and a5 = 30 tons/ha equivalent to 600 g/polybag. The variables observed were plant height (cm), many of branches (branches), root volume (cm3), plant dry weight (g), number of fruits per plant (fruit) and weight of fruit per plant (g). The study  results show the of various dosage palm oil ash gave a significant effect on all variables. The best result dosage of palm oil ash  is 10 tons/ha equivalent to 200 g/polybag. Keywords: Ciplukan,Palm Oil Ash, Peat Soil

    This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer of goat manureon the growth and yield of cherry tomatoes on peat soil. The research was conducted fromJanuary 13th 2019 to April 21th2019 in the garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method in which the application of liquid organic fertilizer concentration as a single factor. The treatments were designed in five levelsof concentrationwith 5 replications and 4 sample plants. The treatment were 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%. The variables observed in this study were plant height, root volume, root dry weight, of the plant dry weight, plant dry weight, amount of fruit crops, weight of fruit crops, weight of fruit. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that giving various concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer of goat manurecannot increase growth, but can inrease cherry tomato yield on peat soils.     GROWTH AND YIELD RESPONS SWEET MAIZE YIELDS TOWARDS THE APPLICATION OF OIL PALM BUNCH ASH AND NPK FERTILIZER ON ALUVIAL LAND

    The aim of this research is to find out the dose of oil palm bunch ash and NPK fertilizer which gives the best growth and yield of sweet maize plants in alluvial soil and to know the interaction between both. This research was conducted in  Desa Kuala, Kecamatan Mega Timur Kabupaten Kubu Raya. This research was conducted from November 1st 2018 to Februari 1st 2019. The design used in this study was a factorial design with a Randomized Block Design (RBD) pattern. The treatment consisted of 2 factors, that is the distribution of oil palm bunch ashes (a) consisting of 2 levels of treatment and NPK fertilizer (k) consisting of 3 levels of treatment. Each treatment was repeated 5 times, so that there were 30 plots with 2 m x 1 m plot area. The treatment in question consists of the treatment of oil palm bunch ash that is a1 = palm bunch ash 2 tons / ha, a2 = palm bunch ash 4 tons / ha and NPK fertilizer treatment that is k1 = NPK fertilizer 400 kg / ha, k2 = 500 kg NPK fertilizer / ha and k3 = 600 kg / ha NPK fertilizer. The results of this study indicate that the treatment of oil palm bunch ash significantly influences the length of cob without cornhusk, while the NPK fertilizer treatment significantly influences plant height of 6 MST, root volume, plan dry weight, cob cornhusk weight, cob without cornhusk weight and diameter of cob without cornhusk. The interaction of the two treatments did not significantly affect all observed variables. The combination of oil palm bunch ash with a dose of 2 tons / ha and NPK fertilizer of 600 kg / ha save the highest mean of growth and yield of sweet maize plants in alluvial soils. Keywords : Oil palm bunch ash, alluvial land, sweet maize, NPK fertilize

The mayor of ingredients were meat or chicken protein mixed with wheat flour which is still import. West Kalimantan was the protein source located of snakehead fish that is still less consumed while the jackfruits seed was the waste that is still not optimally processed too. The aim of this research was to determine the formulation of jackfruit seed flour and cassava starch which produced chemical, physical and sensory characteristic of snakehead fish nugget. The research using Randomized Block Design of one factor (formulation of jackfruit seed flour and cassava starch) with five level treatments (0:20, 5:15, 10:10, 15:5, 20:0, w/w) and five replications. Data were analyzed by using one way ANOVA (α=5%) and if there was significant different followed by BNJ test (α=5%). Result showed that the best formulation based on effective index of snakehead fish nugget was jackfruit seed flour:cassava starch (10:10) that has moisture content of 52.25%; protein of 12.66% while as a albumin of 3.64%; fat of 4.45%; ash of 1.95%; carbohydrate of 28.70% and water holding capacity 51.6%. Meanwhile the hedonic result has taste 3.70 (quite like), flavor 3.53 (quite like) and texture 3.77 (quite like).Key words: flour, jackfruit seed, cassava starch, nugget, snakehead fis

    Daun sukun mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang berfungsi sebagai antimikroba, sehingga dapat berpotensi sebagai pengawet daging ayam. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengetahui pengaruh dan perlakuan terbaik penambahan ekstrak daun sukun dan lama perendaman terhadap kualitas daging ayam broiler selama penyimpanan. Desain penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok yang disusun secara faktorial (2 faktor) antara konsentrasi ekstrak daun sukun (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%) dan lama perendaman (15, 30 dan 45 menit) yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Parameter analisis yang dilakukan adalah kadar air, kadar protein, kadar lemak, pH dan Total Plate Count. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Anova (α= 5%), jika perlakuan berpengaruh nyata, dilanjutkan uji Beda Nyata Jujur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan terbaik pada penyimpanan hari ke 6, yaitu 10% konsentrasi ekstrak daun sukun dan 45 menit lama perendaman, yang menghasilkan rerata karakteristik kimia : kadar air 74,96%, kadar protein 12,36%, kadar lemak 4,68%, karakteristik fisik : pH 5,84, dan karakteristik mikrobiologis : TPC 1,06x108 CFU/g.Kata kunci : Ayam broiler, daun sukun, ekstrak, dan lama perendama

    The production of black rice has decreased due to disease attacks. One way to improve rice resistance to disease is through the induction of mutations with gamma ray radiation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the resistance of black rice induced by Co-60 by 0 Gy, 200 Gy and 300 Gy against disease. The research was conducted on BBI's land in Sungai Kakap Village, Kubu Raya Regency during one planting season, from October 2017 to April 2018. This research used a descriptive research method. Each treatment was observed as many as 50 rice plants, so that the total sample of observation is 150 plants. Observations were made 3 times, during vegetative, maximum vegetative, and generative periods. Disease identification is done in two ways which are macroscopic and microscopic. Assessment of the severity of the disease is guided by the guidebook. The results of the study found 4 diseases that attack black rice mutant plants, namely narrow brown spots, leaf and collar blast disease, fusarium disease, and midrib blight. Narrow brown spot disease, rice irradiated by 200 Gy is the most resistant with medium - rather resistant category. Leaf blast disease, rice that is not irradiated is most resistant with medium - rather resistant category.     The Effect of Planting Media and Taerh Bean Sprout POC on the Growth of Red Betel Setek

    This study aims to determine the interaction of planting media and the concentration of POC bean sprouts that provide the best growth of red betel cuttings. This research was carried out from February to May 2018 in the Maya Island sub-district of Kemboja village. The study used factorial experimental methods with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of two factors, namely planting media (m) POC bean sprouts (p). The media consists of two levels, namely (husk charcoal and manure soil), POC factor consists of 4 levels, namely (0%, 20%, 40%, and 60%), there are 8 combinations of treatments with 3 replications and each replication consists of 3 sample plants. The combination of treatments meant is m1p0, m1p1, m1p2, m1p3, m2p0, m2p1, m2p2, and m2p3. Observation variables observed were cut length (cm), number of leaves (strands), root volume (cm3), and shoot dry weight (g). The results showed that there was a significant interaction in root volume and dry weight, and gave the highest mean treatment (soil and manure + POC 40%), which was 2.63 cm3 for root volume and 1.56 g for shoot dry weight.Keyword : land, husk charcoal, manure, POC bean sprout

    ESTIMATION OF ORANGE MUD CRAB (Scylla olivacea) STOCKS AS THE CATCH YIELD OF FISHERMEN OF KUBU VILLAGE, KUBU RAYA DISTRICT, WEST BORNEO

    ABSTRACKInformation about orange mud crab (Scylla olivacea) stocks in West Kalimantan is still very minimal, especially in Kubu Village, Kubu Sub-District. The purpose of this study was to estimate the stocks of Scylla olivacea from the catch yield of fishermen of Kubu Village, Kubu Sub-District, Kubu Raya District, West Borneo Province. The method used for sampling was the Census method in which the samples to be observed were all the catches of orange mud crabs in 2 (two) collectors in Kubu Village. Sampling of S. olivacea was carried out at 1-time interval in 2 weeks for 4 (four) months. This study was conducted in September-December 2018. Based on the results of the study, S. olivacea which was caught during the study were 341 crabs, in which male crabs were caught of 255 crabs and female crabs of 86 crabs. The relationship of width and weight of male S. olivacea was negative allometric, female S. olivacea was isometric and the total male and female was isometric. The asymptotic width (L∞) of male S. olivacea was 258 mm, female was 175 mm, the total was 253.3 mm, the growth coefficient (K) of male was 0.15 per year, female was 0.21 per year, the total was 0.15 per year. The mortality of S. olivacea was mostly caused by natural mortality (M) with a value of 0.2355 per year. The rate of exploitation of S. olivacea shows that the catches carried out was still below optimal with the exploitation value (E) of 0.1673.Keyword : Stock estimation, Scylla olivacea, Width and weight relationship

    Pengaruh Jenis Bioaktivator pada Pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair Limbah Ikan terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Okra pada Tanah Aluvial

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan jenis bioaktivator pada pembuatan pupuk organik cair limbah ikan terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench)  pada tanah aluvial. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 11 Mei 2019 - 25 Agustus 2019 di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan satu perlakuan jenis pupuk organik cair limbah ikan dengan berbagai bioaktivator yang terdiri dari 5 taraf perlakuan, 5 ulangan dan setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 4 sampel tanaman, sehingga terdapat 100 tanaman. Perlakuan yang dimaksud yaitu: A = Bioaktivator EM-4, B = Bioaktivator Trichoderma sp., C = Bioaktivator M-21, D = Bioaktivator Tangguh, E = Bioaktivator Super.  Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini yaitu volume akar (cm3), berat kering tanaman (g), tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai), jumlah buah pertanaman (buah), berat buah pertanaman (g), dan panjang buah (cm). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jenis pupuk organik cair limbah ikan  dengan bioaktivator EM-4, Trichoderma sp., M-21, dan Tangguh sama baiknya dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil okra pada tanah aluvial.   Kata Kunci: Limbah Ikan, Okra, Pupuk Organik Cair, Tanah Aluvial

    THE PURIFICATION OF USED PALM OIL USING BAGASSE AND BANANA “KEPOK” PEELS AS AN ADSORBENT

    The purpose of this research is to know the best ratio based on the combination of the bagasse and banana “kepok” peels to the used palm oil purification. This research used Randomized Block Design one factor, the ratio formula of the combination bagasse and banana “kepok” peels (7 times treatment that is control, 0:100, 20:80, 40:60, 60:40, 80:20, and 100:0, 4 times replication). The data analyzed by ANOVA 5%, if there is significant treatment, then it continued by Turkey’s (HSD Test). Data from hedonic analyzed by Friedman test. The result showed the combination of bagasse and banana “kepok” peels at ratio 100:0 is the best treatment. The quality of used oil are moisture content 0.35%, FFA 0.96%, relative density 0.956 g/mL, saponification 167.85 mg KOH/g and viscosity 0.56 cps. Organoleptic evaluation best result is colour 1.24 (yellow clear to bit yellow) and smell 1.4 (no rancid to bit rancid)
