POLA DAN ARAH MIGRASI PENDUDUK ANTAR PROPINSI DI INDONESIA TAHUN 1990
Inter provincial migration in Indonesia has long been known. The 1990 Population Census of Indonesia reveals that throughout the provincies of Indonesia the birth place of most of the inhabitants was not the province where they now live. The number of these migrants kept increasing, and had reached 14.8 million by the year 1990.The size of the flow of migrants to a certainprovince is very much influenced by the upsand downs of the development of the province since their reasons to migrate are mostly due to economic matters. Since most of the development of Indonesia has been intensified in the northern and eastern parts of the country, it has been observed that since 1990 there has been an increasing flow of migrants heading to these areas. On the whole, migrants preferred to go to the cities rather than to the rural areas. Nevertheless, in the provinces out side Jawa and Bali most people preferred to migrate to the rural areas
PERUBAHAN KAPASISTAS PENYERAPAN TENAGA KERJA DI SEKTOR INFORMAL
Employment in the informal sector has risen sharply until about 1980, but has sice started to decline. This is also true for employment in trade, which accounts for the mayor part of informal sector employment. On the basis of data derived from a survey in informal sector trade in Central Java it is shown that the informal sector is increasingly formalized. Consequently the labor absorption capacity of informal sector trade has declined. It will be necessary to take account of this fact in formulating employment targets for the next Indonesian development plan REPELITA VI.

The policy of taking very much the privacy right of the victim into account has implicated the role of medical profession reducing the HIV transmission. This paper argues for increasing public accountability of medical practitioners and hospitals as public health agencies in protecting hidden transmission of HIV in society
POSISI INDONESIA DALAM MIGRASI INTERNASIONAL DAN PASAR KERJA GLOBAL
The contribution of Indonesian work force in the International Labor Market is still very minimal, both in terms of quantity and quality. For this reason therefore, the reorientation of the labor force which is sent abroad from mere household workers to being better skilled workers is a very strategic step in improving on the national foreign exchange position and reducing unemployment. This paper is focussed on the importance of improving on the position of Indonesia in International migration through an anticipative focus on the availability of employment opportunities abroad, in order that the nature and the quality of the work force provided is in accordance with the demand in global labor market
PENDAPATAN MIGRAN PEKERJA SEKTOR INFORMAL DI PALEMBANG DAN PANGKALPINANG*
This research, which was conducted in Palembang and Pangkalpinang in the province of Southern Sumatra, aim at identifying the factors which influence the level if income among permanent migrants in the informal sector. The results of the study indicate that the status of the residential house which is at the same time used as the place of work, has for long, bent over employment, recruitmentof the family labor force, and the level of education is a very dominant factor in the level of income. On the other hand, the variable of the number of workers and the source of capital does not have a dominating influence on the level of income of the migrant workers in the informal sector. Abbas Effendi in this paper argues that the number of workers and the working capital do not constitute major factors in improving on the production or the output, but instead, the factor of effectiveness and efficiency in using the factors of production are crucial in improving on their output

Reproductive health covers a number of elements that relates to sexual activities and reproductive processes. The clinical aspects of the reproductive health are indeed important. Yet, its social aspects are not less significant due to its complexity and difficulty for making a solution. Many social problems associated with reproductive health, such as unwanted pregnancy, unsafe abortion, STD/AIDS, side-effects of contraceptive uses, etc., have grown to be more crucial and call for serious attention from social scientists as well as policy makers. This paper specifically addresses this issue by elaborating the scope and complexity of reproductive health matters in an Indonesian context
IS INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION A WAY OUT OF ECONOMIC CRISIS?
The objective of the study is to comprehend how the practice of Pemale Genital Cutting (PGC), or 'sunat perempuan' in local term, reflects a social contruction of sexuality in Indonesia society, and how it relates to sexual and reproductive health. The study was conducted during 2002 in Yogyakarta and Madura, considering that both areas have distinct sociocultural contexts. The study reveals that PGC, as MGC, is socially meant 'to Islamize' member of society. The male religious leaders' dominance and rigid interpretations of Islamic holy books may be conducive for male-biased sexual behaviors and harmfulprocedures of PGC among Madurese. Among Javanese, by contrast, PGC is known as a part of court tradition, to be connected with a puberty rite which articulates symbolic actions. As opened social discourse is more accepted among Javanese, PGC is easily forgotten. Nonetheless, the meaning of PGC as a puberty rite has served as a basis for gender divisions among Javanese todays
TANGGUNG JAWAB SOSIAL PERUSAHAAN DAN PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT SEKITAR PERUSAHAAN
Bussiness practice lately had caused many damages to the society around the corporates. They were directly effected by this practice in a bad way. They still live poorly while the corporates were getting richer by absorbing as much as they could from the resources. The policy by the goverment is to make the corporates giving back what they had taken to the society around them. They should arrange programs namely Corporate Social Responsibilites to empower the society. But in the implementation, some problems occured, such as the inconsistency of the program and the top-down program which did not involved society and related institutions. Later the program should be studied more to at the end empower the society and minimalized conflicts. Bussiness practice lately had caused many damages to the society around the corporates.
