Practical Use of the Mainframe System
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the analysis of mainframe system architecture, their historical development, and practical use, with an emphasis on the tasks these systems perform. The work compares traditional and modern approaches to database systems. The first approach uses JCL (Job Control Language) for batch processing tasks while the modern approach focuses on development tools such as Visual Studio and Data Studio. In the practical part of the thesis, examples are designed and implemented on the IBM Z platform. These are subsequently subjected to testing, performance analysis, and comparison of the efficiency of the different approaches. The results are evaluated primarily in terms of efficiency and practical applicability of the examples, as well as the potential for their further development
Rule Based Engine for Positional Data in Industrial Processes
Real-time locating systems (RTLS) are widely used in the digitalization of manufacturing and logistics processes. They track objects in space and provide their positional data in real time. This thesis focuses on the design and the implementation of a system that evaluates event logic based on user-defined rules over such data. The aim was to design and test a modular and secure system that allows users to define, manage, and evaluate rules. The implementation followed secure development principles according to OWASP standards. System testing included both functional verification and security analysis. The prototype allows rule definition via a web interface, while the core system evaluates events in real time. The proof-of-concept demonstrates that rule-based evaluation of position data is technically feasible and suitable for practical use
Automated hop dispenser
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of hopping during the beer brewing process and the implementation of an automated hop dispenser, with the help of which hops are added to the brewing process. The dispenser is controlled by a single-board microcontroller, which is controlled by communication with a superior PLC unit using the industrial Modbus TCP protocol. The physical parts of the dispenser are designed and printed as 3D models. Active and passive control elements such as motors and a strain gauge sensor for measuring the weight of the poured hops are added to the dispenser. The PLC control unit and the single-board microcontroller are connected to a common subnet via an Ethernet interface and communication is configured between them for controlling the dispenser. A simple web interface is used for the interaction of the system with the user. The output of the bachelor's thesis is a functional physical dosing unit that, according to the user's input requirements, dispenses the hops of the selected type
Family House
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is the design of a new family house titled Family House and the preparation of project documentation for the construction phase. The building is located in the outskirts of the town Dvůr Králové nad Labem in the Hradec Králové region. The newly designed family house is two-storey, partially basement, and intended to accommodate 5 people. The structural system is a mixed masonry structure, with ceramic blocks as the main construction material. The basement walls are designed as cast-in-place reinforced concrete made of watertight concrete. The horizontal load-bearing structures are also cast-in-place reinforced concrete slabs. The family house is covered with a flat green roof
Bridge on the Access Road to the Prešov Tunnel over the Torysa River
The aim of the bachelor’s thesis was the design and assessment of the structure of a road bridge on the access road to the Prešov tunnel across the Torysa River. The bridge is singlespan with a perpendicular intersection of the watercourse. Two variants were considered, one of which became the subject of the thesis. The chosen variant featured a frametype, posttensioned bridge structure. For the design, static models were created in Midas Civil 2025 and SCIA Engineer 25.0. Load combinations and the resulting internal forces were assembled, and manual checks were then carried out in accordance with the Eurocode
Synthesis of duplex MgAl-LDH layers on Mg substrate in order to increase its corrosion resistance
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the preparation and evaluation of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) based on MgAl, applied to magnesium substrates produced by powder metallurgy. In recent years, magnesium and its alloys have proven to be highly promising materials for use in biomedical implants, primarily due to their low density, biocompatibility, mechanical properties similar to human bone, and biodegradability. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the properties of magnesium and its alloys, their use in biomedicine, corrosion mechanisms in physiological environments, and surface treatment options, including the application of LDH coatings—with special emphasis on their structure, function, and synthesis methods. The experimental part deals with the synthesis and subsequent characterization of LDH coatings using the hydrothermal synthesis method, with the aim of improving the corrosion resistance of magnesium in a simulated body fluid environment. The sample surfaces were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and, in terms of elemental composition, by energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). It was found that the intermediate LDH layer reached a thickness of 0.5 µm, while the duplex LDH layer reached up to 1 µm. An increase in the LDH layer thickness led to improved corrosion behavior. Corrosion behavior was evaluated using potentiodynamic polarization in Hank’s solution. The results showed that the application of the intermediate LDH layer improved corrosion resistance, as the corrosion potential (Ecorr) increased from -1552 mV to -1381 mV, and the corrosion current density (icorr) decreased from 55.52 µA·cm to 0.844 µA·cm . Subsequent deposition of the upper LDH layer further increased Ecorr to -1343 mV while simultaneously reducing icorr by an order of magnitude to 0.099 µA·cm
Family House with Guest House
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design and development of a new family house with guest house, located in the cadastral area of the village of Radošov. The building is designed as a detached structure situated on the outskirts of the village. The aim of the project was to create a design that effectively combines comfortable living for a family of 4 to 6 members with commercial use. The proposal emphasizes modern architectural solutions, spaciousness, and user comfort. The ground floor is accommodated with a commercial area that includes a publicly accessible pub and an indoor swimming pool. The first floor (second above-ground level) houses a guesthouse with five apartments, offering accommodation for up to 16 guests. From a structural perspective, the foundation is designed using reinforced concrete strip footings. The basement perimeter walls are constructed from permanent formwork blocks in combination with ceramic blocks. The above-ground perimeter and internal load-bearing walls are made of ceramic masonry units. The floor structures are designed as monolithic reinforced concrete slabs. The building features a combination of two roofing types – flat roof covering the pool area and connecting various parts of the building, and a gable roof above the family house, pub, and guesthouse areas. The entire structure is insulated using an external thermal insulation composite system
Data reduction techniques for DDoS classification
