The Educational role of the nurse in senior patients in the general practitioner's office

    No full text
Theoretical Background: Education of elderly patients is a method of guidance and learning that helps patients improve their ability to care for their own health. This bachelor thesis focuses on the education of seniors in the environment of a general practitioner's outpatient clinic. It explains the concept of education, the educational process, and the phases of this process. Education is currently a widely discussed and relevant topic, especially due to its role in preventing lifestyle-related diseases and in supporting healthy living. Education is important not only for the elderly, who are among the most frequent visitors to general practitioners, but also for the younger generation, as part of health promotion and disease prevention efforts. Aim of the Thesis and Research Questions: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to identify the specifics of education in general practitioner outpatient clinics and to explore the differences in educating patients from different age groups. In order to achieve this aim, the following research questions were used. Methodology: The research part of this bachelor thesis is based on a qualitative methodology. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with nurses working in general practitioners' outpatient clinics. For this research, cooperation was established with unnamed outpatient clinics located in the Vysočina Region as well as in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. Results: In this bachelor thesis, four research questions were defined. The first investigates the roles of nurses in educating patients in a general practitioner's office. The second focuses on the most common areas of education for seniors. The third question maps the opportunities for further education of nurses in general practitioners' offices, and the fourth examines their interest in professional development. These questions aim to clarify the educational function of nurses and the factors that influence their training in practice. Based on the analysis of data obtained through semi-structured interviews, five main categories were identified, reflecting the key areas of the research. Three of these categories were further divided into subcategories that more thoroughly explore specific topics. This categorization allowed for a deeper understanding of the nurses' educational activities and the related aspects of their professional development

    No full text
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of nursing care after robotic-assisted procedures in urology. Robotic surgery has become a common part of modern medicine in recent years, mainly due to its accuracy, patient friendliness and shorter recovery time. However, the success of these procedures depends not only on modern technology, but also on quality and individualized nursing care. The aim of this study is to analyze the course of preoperative and postoperative nursing care in patients after robotic-assisted urological procedures, to identify the most common nursing problems and to evaluate the level of patient education. The thesis is divided into theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part describes the basics of robotic surgery, its history, advantages and disadvantages, and also discusses the specifics of nursing care in these procedures. The research part uses a qualitative research method and was conducted through semi-structured interviews. Interviews were conducted with five general nurses from the standard ward, three nurses from the intensive care unit and five patients after robotic surgery. The research showed that nursing care after robotic-assisted procedures has its own specificities, especially in the areas of patient education, prevention of complications and psychosocial support. Differences in approach were found between different departments, especially in the availability of educational materials. Respondents also highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and an individualised approach to patients. The results of this study confirm that high-quality and well-planned nursing care, complemented by a multidisciplinary approach, is essential for successful recovery of patients after robotic urological procedures. They also point to the need for standardization of educational materials and improved quality of care across different healthcare settings

Determination of tulathromycin in manure and soil

    No full text
This thesis focuses on the analysis of tulathromycin in manure and soil using LC-MS/MS. The theoretical part provides an overview of macrolide antibiotics, with a particular emphasis on tulathromycin, occurrence of antibiotics in the environment, and its environmental fate. Additionally, natural and anthropogenic degradation processes and analytical methods for detecting antibiotic residues in environmental matrices are discussed. The experimental part includes the optimization of synthesis of the tulathromycin metabolite M1, as well as the optimization of methods for determining tulathromycin residues in manure and soil. The optimized methods were validated and applied to real samples of manure, fermented manure, and soil from a model experiment. The collected data enabled the evaluation of the influence of the time elapsed since drug administration, the effectiveness of fermentation as a potential degradation process, and the impact of precipitation on the persistence of tulathromycin in soil. The results were statistically analyzed to assess the behavior and persistence of tulathromycin in an agroecosystem

This diploma project focuses on the renovation of a former boiler house and transformer station in the Brno-Vlněna area, transforming it into a creative hub that would serve as an upcycling center, gallery, and space for artists. The upcycling center would repurpose otherwise unused wood, turning it into unique pieces of furniture. One of Vesna’s visions is to create a “furniture inventory” — a stock of ready-to-use furniture available to those in need

    Echo of the spring

The thesis focuses on a place that was once a center of relaxation, healing, and connection between humans, water, and the landscape. After years of abandonment, it has become a silent witness of the past, yet it still carries the potential to offer something anew. The work does not aim to reconstruct the spa in the traditional sense, but rather to create a new layer that reflects the needs of contemporary people, those who live fast-paced lives and often lose touch with themselves, with nature, and with silence. People who long for deeper connection. It builds on the significance of water as an element that regenerates not only the body but also the mind. Through a series of architectural interventions, it seeks to work sensitively with water as a sensory medium, capable of calming, connecting, and pulling one out of the ordinary. Each intervention in the landscape creates a space that enables a different kind of contact with water and with oneself. It is a return to simple being, to presence, to slowness. In this way, the place regains its meaning not as a tourist attraction, but as a space for quiet regeneration, both physical and mental

Rising after Fall: Reconstruction of Sarajevos Winter Olympic Games herritage site, Olympic Hotel Igman

As a former member of the National Team and Olympic Team (by representing her country in Mediterian Games) of Bosnia and Herzegovina in rhythmic gymnastics, and today a coach to children in this sport, the author herself always viewed the Olympic Games as a symbol of achievement for both country and individuals. As an architecture student, she started to perceive the Olympic legacy in Sarajevo as a powerful symbol of unity and happy days but also traumatic ones. Growing up in a city that went through the longest siege in modern history, she learned to see architecture as a living narrative, telling stories of identity, brightest moments and struggles. Sarajevo’s history is ingraved as a timeline into its streets and buildings. From the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian periods through Yugoslavia and its post-war years, these eras, along with milestones such as World War I, World War II, the 1984 Winter Olympics, and the 1990s war, have shaped its identity as a multi-ethnic city where East meets West, multi-religious city often called the “Jerusalem of Europe.” This thesis focuses on the 1984 Winter Olympics, the largest event in history of former Yugoslavia. It will explore how this event transformed Sarajevo’s architecture and urban fabric: vertically, with its skyline rising toward the mountains; horizontally, through the development of infrastructure, tourism, and economy; and temporally, as it left behind a cultural legacy and the everlasting title of an Olympic city. In the project, I draw parallels with other Olympic cities to highlight missed opportunities and envision what Sarajevo’s trajectory could have been without the interruption of war. The core of this thesis is the Olympic Hotel Igman, a symbol of Sarajevo’s dual historical narrative: a symbol of both Olympic pride and brotherhood, and war’s devastation, a collapse not just of architecture but of the nation itself. investigate the potential of reviving Hotel Igman as a functional and symbolic space, that will bring peace to peoples souls. By preserving and adapting the building, It aims to create a venue that serves professional athletes, promotes recreational activities, educates and fosters community connections, all while respecting its architectural heritage. Spaces like Hotel Igman can bridge divides, inspire unity, and provide a sense of safety. Architecture can be seen as a living organism, mirroring human life. The question then arises: should it die with its memory, or should it get chance for rebirth? Reconstructing Hotel Igman seeks to reconnect residents with their vibrant past, reminding them of the unifying power of sports and their city’s resilience. Through architecture, we can rebuild not only structures but also the bonds that unite communities
