Separation and identification of microplastics in soils and application of FTIR methods

    No full text
This diploma thesis focuses on the separation and identification of microplastics in soil using infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR). The thesis includes a literature review of current knowledge regarding the occurrence, sources, and transport of microplastics in soils, as well as methods for their separation and analysis. The experimental part involved the analysis of eight different soil types. Density separation with various flotation media was used to isolate microplastics from the soil matrix. Separately, the effectiveness of ATR-FTIR spectroscopy was evaluated for detecting four types of polymers (PET, PP, PHB, PLA) in the soil samples. Calibration and validation models were developed for each combination of polymer and soil type, with parameters such as correlation coefficient (R), coefficient of determination (R), RMSECV and RPD being assessed. The results demonstrate that ATR-FTIR spectroscopy is suitable for the identification and quantification of microplastics in soils. All studied polymers were successfully detected, with varying levels of efficiency depending on their concentration and the type of soil matrix. Density separation proved to be effective even at low plastic concentrations

    No full text
This thesis focuses on mobility and key competences for lifelong learning in relation to future foreign language teachers, their studies and their professional practice. The theoretical part focuses on key competences and learning mobility in general. It explores concepts such as competences, qualifications and teacher's professional competences. It focuses on key competences which are defined as necessary for lifelong learning. In this context, the thesis discusses the recommendation of the Council of the European Union 2018, which sets out key competences for lifelong learning and their relevance to personal and professional development. The final theoretical part concludes with the topic of international learning mobility, which helps to ensure quality education and increase international cooperation. The thesis focuses on the importance of mobility for the development of students' key competences. The practical part analyses the role of international student mobility on the development of key competences of future foreign language teachers. The findings are supported by a research study in the form of questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews. The aim of the thesis is to describe the relationship of key competences for lifelong learning and international student mobility, to identify and analyse those key competences that develop naturally during mobility. It concludes with recommendations for a more effective approach to student's mobility in relation to the development of key competences

This thesis deals with the relationship between HDL cholesterol and carbohydrate parameters (glucose, insulin, C-peptide and HOMA-IR) in patients without impaired glucose tolerance. The aim of the study was to quantify changes in carbohydrate parameters relevant to the reference range of HDL cholesterol and to focus on its effect. Kruskal-Wallis test and Spearman correlation were used for data analysis. The results showed that there was a statistically significant inverse relationship between the parameters. These findings may contribute to a better understanding of the interaction between the parameters and also to the understanding of the protective effects of HDL cholesterol
