This bachelor's thesis focuses on the topic of programming in upper secondary education. Its main goal is to create lessons for an optional subject, intended for pupils interested in programming, using a combination of a suitable scripting language and a computer game or another graphical environment in which the pupils can create interactive levels and minigames. The theoretical part focuses on the analysis of four scripting languages and it evaluates their pros and cons. It then chooses one of these languages as the most suitable, chooses a graphical environment for it, and analyses it in more depth. The practical part of this thesis focuses on the creation of lessons in the chosen language and environment. These lessons are subsequently evaluated in a reflection, which results from the feedback of anonymous teachers. The individual lessons were improved on the basis of this reflection and subsequently attached to this thesis

Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Author: Anežka Hlavatá Supervisor: RNDr. Klára Konečná, Ph.D. Consultant: Ing. Tomáš Hudcovic, CSc. Title of diploma: Determination of modulation of inflammatory immune response in Bifidobacterium longum strains isolated from biopsies of children with inflammatory bowel diseases Aim of the study: The aim of this study was to test 20 strains of Bifidobacterium longum isolated from biopsy tissue of young patients with a diagnosis of IBD or suspicion of IBD (aged 4-18 years) and to determine their ability to elicit or modulate immune responses using suitable cell models, such as the human Caco-2 cell line and the HEK293 cell line. Methods: Twenty strains of Bifidobacterium longum ssp. longum were cultured and subsequently heat- inactivated. Their ability to modulate immune responses was assessed using the Caco-2 cell line. An inflammatory response was induced by interleukin-1β, which was added to the Caco-2 cells in both prophylactic and therapeutic setups. Parallel experiments were conducted under non-inflammatory conditions (an immunomodulatory model without interleukin-1β). Control conditions included pure medium and PAM3CSK4 at various concentrations. Furthermore, signaling by these bacterial..

    No full text
This thesis focuses on the development of reading strategies among first - and second-grade primary school pupils, with particular emphasis on the gradual progression of activities based on pupils' reading abilities. The theoretical part defines the concepts of reading literacy and emergent literacy, describes relevant reading strategies and skills, and takes into account children's cognitive and language development. It also summarizes findings from recent research in the field of literacy education. The theoretical section concludes with practical methodological recommendations derived from the theoretical framework. The empirical part, designed as a case study, investigates how teachers at a selected primary school in Prague plan and implement reading activities and foster the development of reading strategies. The research involved six teachers and their pupils. Data were collected through interviews and classroom observations. The frequency, consistency, and planning of activities varied among teachers, depending on their teaching experience, participation in professional development courses, teaching style, and the degree of emphasis placed on reading instruction. The findings highlight the teacher's personality and professional background as key factors influencing the approach to teaching..

Polarization of the Third Constitutional Court: an analysis of the dissenting behaviour of constitutional judges Abstract The Constitutional Court, as a judicial body for the protection of constitutionality, is a key element of the constitutional architecture of the Czech Republic, ensuring its character as a democratic state governed by the rule of law. Given its key role, it is crucial to empirically examine in as much detail as possible the factors affecting the internal functioning and potentially the quality of the Constitutional Court's work. One of the key elements that has been the focus of the foreign literature in this context in particular is the dissenting behaviour of judges, which can tell us a lot about the conditions or dynamics of relations at the Court. In this diploma, I therefore examine the dynamics and evolution of relations between the judges of the Constitutional Court through an analysis of the ties within dissenting coalitions. The research question for this diploma was formulated as follows: "How has the nature of ties between the judges of the Constitutional Court changed in the three decades of its existence?". The hypotheses relating to this question were derived from previous literature, which, however, was relatively limited in both quantity and methodological rigor. I tested..

Comparison of different concepts of integral (Newtons, Riemanns, and others)

    No full text
My bachelor thesis is focused on the classical part of mathematical analysis, namely on the basics of integral calculus of functions of one real variable. In the first chapter, we introduce the concept of a primitive function as a set of functions satisfying certain criteria. Then, this chapter describes basic integration techniques, which are illustrated on specific examples. In the second chapter, we construct the Newton integral, show its properties, and investigate its convergence. In the third chapter, we construct the Riemann integral, show its properties and the criteria for its existence. The last chapter focuses on the comparison between the Riemann and Newton integrals

Inclusion of children with ASD in the regular classroom

    No full text
This thesis focuses on the issue of inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorders into mainstream classrooms in mainstream primary schools. Within this topic, a number of topics are addressed that are very closely related to this issue. First of all, the thesis defines the term autism itself and also introduces the types of this disorder. The typical manifestations that can be encountered and expected from an individual with this disorder are described. In addition, this work contains a very important part, which is the area of inclusion, with which the relevant legislation is related. Then there is the functioning of the classroom collective in which the pupil with autism spectrum disorder is located and its management. In the last chapter of the theoretical part, the thesis is enriched with the topic of the teaching profession. In the context of the teaching profession, I mention here the interesting typology of the teacher and the burnout syndrome, which has been much discussed in recent years. In the second part of this thesis, the methods that can be used to support the inclusion of a pupil with autism spectrum disorder not only in terms of education, but also in the context of integration into the classroom collective in which the pupil is situated are mapped out. Examples of the..

Socioeconomic and environmental impacts of the growing global demand for avocados: A case study of the Mexican state of Michoacán

    No full text
Avocados, perceived as a symbol of healthy eating, have become a highly valued commodity, leading to the rise of their production. The thesis shows that the expansion of the avocado industry brings economic benefits such as increased employment and export revenues, but simultaneously causes significant environmental and social problems. The analysis also includes an evaluation of the global avocado market, consumer trends, and factors influencing growing demand. Key impacts of cultivation include deforestation, soil degradation, overexploitation of natural resources, ecosystem fragmentation, and the rising influence of organized crime in the region. Special attention is paid to the impacts on protected areas, particularly the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve. The findings suggest that current cultivation models are not sustainable in the long term and highlight the need to implement more environmentally friendly and socially just approaches to avocado production. Keywords: avocado, Michoacán, global market, socioeconomic impacts, environmental impacts, consumer trend
