CT phantom for quantitative calcium analysis
This thesis deals with the design, manufacture and testing of a CT phantoms intended for quantitative analysis of calcium content, a key parameter in the diagnosis and monitoring of bone diseases progression. The work includes a review of methods for measuring bone mineral density BMD, an overview of commercially available phantoms, the design and implementation of a prototype phantom, and subsequently an improved second generation. The manufactured phantoms were scanned using an available CT system and then analyzed with a focus on their homogeneity and temporal stability. The results showed a high degree of homogeneity and long-term temporal stability, confirming that the phantoms are suitable for quantifying calcium concentrations. The proposed phantoms thus represent an affordable and effective alternative to commercial phantoms
Fluorescent probes for the investigation of photocatalytic reactions kinetics
This bachelor thesis focuses on the behavior of resazurin as a fluorescent probe for monitoring the kinetics of photocatalytic reactions. Four types of catalysts were tested: WO3, TiO2 (in suspension and as an immobilized layer), and g-C3N4. The influence of various factors was investigated, including catalyst concentration, light intensity, glycerol addition, and pH. The results show that the probe is suitable for systems using TiO2 and g-C3N4, although its applicability depends on environmental parameters such as pH, catalyst form, and ambient lighting conditions
Bayesian Motion Estimation in Arterial and Cardiac Ultrasound Sequences
Tools for penetration testing of wireless networks
This master's thesis deals with the design and implementation of tools for penetration testing of wireless networks utilizing WPA3 security and the EAP authentication protocol. The thesis presents a custom testing methodology and describes the development of an experimental testing environment that simulates real-world operational scenarios. The outcome of the work is a set of six support tools written in Python, whose functionality has been successfully validated within the described environment. These tools are ready for integration into the Penterep platform and provide output in JSON format. The contribution of this work lies not only in the more efficient identification of security vulnerabilities in Wi-Fi networks but also in simplifying the workflow of penetration testers. Finally, the thesis outlines recommendations for the further development of these tools and explores their potential deployment in real-world conditions
Origin and propagation of rapid voltage changes and voltage events in the transmission system
This thesis deals with the analysis of the propagation of rapid voltage changes and voltage events in the transmission system of the Czech Republic. It presents the principles of the occurrence of these disturbances and describes their propagation in the power system. Furthermore, it provides a detailed analysis of the propagation of these phenomena using a test section of the transmission system modeled in the PSCAD program, based on real parameters. The simulation results offer a deeper understanding of how these phenomena spread within the network. The thesis also highlights several factors that system operators should consider when assessing such disruptive events
Model of an Industrial Enterprise Electrical Network in Etap
In modern industrial plants, reliable power systems are crucial for continuous operation and productivity. The complexity of these systems requires advanced tools for analysis, simulation and optimization. In this thesis, a detailed model of an industrial plant’s electrical grid is developed using ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program), a software platform for the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems. The objective of this work is to simulate existing network of an industrial plant and use the model to perform sizing control calculations and connection studies of integrating new loads or resources. By sticking to the standard study criteria, it will be ensured that the electrical network is robust, efficient and able to accommodate future expansion without compromising safety or operational reliability. The outputs from the ETAP tool will be analyzed and recommendations will be made based on these analyses to ensure compliance with the industry standards
