Design of an Information System for a Catering Company
This thesis deals with the analysis of the current state and the design of an information system for catering. The first part describes and defines the theoretical background, the second part analyses the current state of catering and the third part proposes changes based on the analyses. In the last part an economic evaluation of the whole project is made
Proposal of a Motorsport Marketing Campaign
The diploma thesis focuses on the design of a marketing campaign to attract sponsors to participate in the Dinaric Rally motorcycle race. The aim was to create a comprehensive campaign that includes a communication strategy, a plan to reach the target audience and to strengthen the personal presentation of the racer in the amateur motorsport environment. The theoretical part summarizes key concepts in marketing, sponsorship and strategic planning. In the analytical part, semi-structured interviews with racers were used and their statements were analysed in terms of marketing approaches. The result is a proposal for a comprehensive marketing campaign including a communication strategy, content plan, visual identity and tools for measuring success. The work also highlights the limits of individual promotion and offers a practical framework for other riders in a similar situation
Proposal of Activities for Strategic Brand Development
This thesis focuses on the development of the volleyball club VK Šantovka Olomouc UP through brand management and increasing the attractiveness of the entity in the eyes of potential sponsors. The thesis defines the theoretical background of the work to capture the whole context of the thesis and to create a brand management framework suitable for use in a sports organization. The analytical part is devoted to the evaluation of brand management in VK Šantovka Olomouc UP and in other selected brands from other sports sectors. The proposal part is devoted to the creation of proposals that will strengthen the overall perception of the brand both from the perspective of fans and its attractiveness from the perspective of partners
DEVS-like Frontend pro NodeRED
This thesis presents the design and implementation of a web application for visual modeling of control systems based on the DEVS formalism, supporting export into the Node-RED runtime environment. The resulting solution takes the form of a graphical block diagram editor that allows the definition of hierarchically organized models and generates output in JSON format intended for direct use in Node-RED. The contribution of this work lies in bridging formal system design with real-world deployment, thereby extending the applicability of the DEVS formalism in technical practice
Advanced visual flight control system for unmanned aircraft
This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a software solution for autonomous detection, tracking, and flight control of an unmanned aerial vehicle based on visual input. The goal was to develop a system capable of detecting a flying object, tracking it, and subsequently controlling the drone's flight to follow the detected target. The theoretical part describes the principles of visual detection, object tracking, and UAV control. The practical part involved the development of software optimized for the Raspberry Pi 5, with an emphasis on low computational requirements. The system was tested both in simulation and in real-world conditions. The results show that the proposed solution is capable of effectively tracking a flying object and autonomously responding to its movement. The solution demonstrates the potential of using readily available hardware and open-source tools for counter-UAV applications
Application of GIS Tools in Mapping for Leisure Activities and Urban Mobility
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is leisure activities, urban mobility, and the design of cycling routes in the city of Brno for various user categories based on difficulty. Theoretical part explains individual concepts and the process of designing cycling paths in the Czech Republic and abroad. The practical part describes the individual sources of data used and proposes circuits with recommended stops at historically interesting places. The circuits are designed with the possibility of extending or shortening the route according to the user’s abilities. The outputs are published on the StoryMaps portal
Study of the microbiome of cooling water biofilms
This study focuses on the investigation of biofilm formation in closed cooling water systems. The research was conducted using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative determination of microorganisms was carried out using cultivation methods, while subsequent analysis was performed through spectrophotometric quantification and bacterial DNA detection using molecular diagnostic techniques such as real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). Additionally, the effectiveness of a biocidal agent was tested using the diffusion disk method to evaluate its ability to reduce biofilm-forming microorganisms. The results provide an overview of the characteristics of biofilm in the given cooling systém
The design of a technology for demineralized water production for a combined cycle power plant
Corrosion and deposit formation are among the most common problems affecting the reliability and efficiency of power equipment operating at high temperatures. A key measure against these phenomena is the use of ultrapure, demineralised water, which requires appropriately selected and designed technology. This thesis deals with the design of a technology for the production of demineralised water for the steam-gas cycle in the power industry. The thesis focuses on the selection and design of the optimal technological solution, its scaling based on real data, assessment of efficiency and ensuring the required water quality. It also includes addressing operational risks such as membrane fouling. The result is a specific design of a membrane unit for a case study, whose parameters are verified on the basis of practically usable data
Datalogger for recording voltage and current measurements
The thesis is focused on development and construction of 8channel device, that works as a multimeter for DC voltage and DC current measurements while displaying the measured results graphically on the host PC’s monitor or numerically on it’s own LCD display. The device is developed to compensate for the shortcomings of the current software used in given EMC test laboratories and thus reduce the investment costs for new more sophisticated software and other compatible equipment required for the measurements. The compensation for software deficiencies lies in providing intuitive information about the device’s status during testing for the customer
CubeSat model for image data transmission
