FEM model of an active fibre composite piezoelectric sensor

    No full text
This master's thesis focuses on the design, modeling, and experimental validation of a composite piezoelectric strain sensor based on the Active Fibre Composite (AFC) technology from the perspective of engineering mechanics. The thesis describes the principles of the piezoelectric effect, the materials used, and the design procedures of the sensors. A finite element method (FEM) computational model was developed using ANSYS software, enabling the simulation of the sensor's dynamic and electromechanical responses. The experimental part involved the fabrication of a sensor prototype and laboratory testing to validate the numerical results. The results confirmed good agreement between computational model and measured data

Study and characterization of properties of PEDOT-based conductive hydrogel

    No full text
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the study and optimization of the properties (viscoelastic, impedance, and hydration) of a conductive hydrogel based on PEDOT for bioelectronic applications. Bioelectronics holds great potential for patients who require devices for sensing, stimulation, or diagnostics on the surface or inside the body. Traditional electronics use metals as active materials; however, these are not ideal for such applications due to significant differences in properties compared to living tissues. In recent years, conductive hydrogels such as pure PEDOT hydrogel have emerged as more compatible alternatives for use as active materials in bioelectronic devices. Nevertheless, hydrogels still pose challenges, particularly due to their high sensitivity to dehydration, which causes their mechanical and electrical properties to change with the degree of hydration. It is therefore necessary to optimize and stabilize these properties using a suitable stabilizer. This bachelor’s thesis addresses this issue, with the goal of studying the dependence of key properties of the conductive hydrogel on the level of hydration, and the possibilities of stabilizing these properties through an appropriate stabilizing agent. Based on a literature review, ethylene glycol (EG) was selected as the stabilizer, known for enhancing water retention in hydrogels. The material studied in this work was a pure PEDOT:PSS hydrogel, with gelation induced by the addition of the surfactant DBSA. The mechanical properties of the hydrogel were investigated using rheological measurements, and the electrical properties were studied via impedance spectroscopy. The results of the thesis demonstrate that the stabilizer has a significant impact on the final properties of the hydrogels. The stabilized hydrogels exhibited better water retention over time and, upon rehydration, were able to absorb up to twice as much water compared to the non-stabilized structure. This indicates that the hydrogel modification had a markedly positive effect on its ability to self-repair. The Young’s modulus of the stabilized hydrogel changed only minimally during drying compared to the pure hydrogel, indicating that the material retained its elasticity. In contrast, the electrical conductivity of the stabilized hydrogels increased significantly compared to the pure hydrogel. Thus, the stabilized hydrogels show greater application potential for long-term use in bioelectronics than the unmodified PEDOT:PSS hydrogel

Gearbox tester design for space applications

    No full text
This thesis explores the possibility of modifying a vacuum testing rig for use in testing a cycloidal gearbox. The aim of this work is to propose the design of these modifications of the original rig and create its drawing documentation. To get there, critical research concerning space environments, simulating them and testing of components in them was done. The modifications are processed in the technical drawing of the assembly and a more in-depth view into the design is a part of this work. The rig isn’t meant to come to life, but if it were, it is suited for it. The generation of data of parts being suitable for space environments is valuable not only for their producers, but also for projects trying to look for new solutions

Stanica monitoruje teplotu, intenzitu osvetlenia, kvalitu ovzdušia, tlak, vlhkosť a zrážky, pričom kladie dôraz na nízku spotrebu energie a dlhodobú autonómnu prevádzku v náročných podmienkach. Zariadenie je napájané zo solárneho panelu a využíva riadiacu jednotku ESP32-S3 spolu s komunikačným modulom Quectel BC660K-GL. Prenos dát prebieha pomocou protokolu MQTT cez šifrované spojenie TLS, pričom údaje sú spracovávané v systéme Node-RED, ukladané do časovej databázy InfluxDB a vizualizované v reálnom čase prostredníctvom platformy Grafana. Práca sa podrobne zaoberá aj bezpečnostnými aspektmi systému vrátane ochrany pred útokmi typu man-in-themiddle, šifrovania komunikácie a autentifikácie zariadení. V porovnaní s komerčnými riešeniami ide o výrazne lacnejšiu, no plne funkčnú alternatívu vhodnú pre vedecké, environmentálne či priemyselné nasadenie. Výsledky potvrdzujú spoľahlivú prevádzku v reálnych podmienkach, čím práca prispieva k rozvoju udržateľných a bezpečných IoT riešení
