Synthetic Fuels as Hope for Internal Combustion Engines
This bachelor thesis deals with synthetic fuels as a potential replacement for conventional fossil fuels for internal combustion engines. The thesis provides an overview of the production technologies of synthetic fuels with a focus on their use as fuels. It also analyses and compares the properties of synthetic and conventional fuels, considering chemical composition, environmental impacts and technical compatibility. The work also includes an assessment of the prospects for further development of synthetic fuels and the possibilities of their real deployment in practice. The results show that, with the use of renewable resources and modern technologies, synthetic fuels can represent an environmentally sustainable alternative to current fuels
Proposal of Recommendations for Outdoor Advertising Media of Selected Restaurants
The diploma thesis focuses on the proposal of recommendations for the effective use of outdoor advertising media in selected restaurants in Brno and its surroundings. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The theoretical part introduces key concepts in the field of marketing and advertising with a focus on outdoor forms of communication. The analytical part is devoted to the characteristics of the selected restaurants, description of their current advertising tools and evaluation of data obtained through qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews. Based on the results of the thematic analysis and the evaluation of the effectiveness of individual advertising media, the third, design part formulates specific recommendations leading to the improvement of the visibility and effectiveness of outdoor advertising in order to increase the attractiveness of restaurants for the target group
Microfluidic chip for mechanical stimulation of adherent cell cultures
Mikhailov stability criterion for selected continuous and discerte-time LTI systems
This thesis deals with the stability of linear time-invariant (LTI) systems. The aim of the thesis is to derive Mikhailov’s stability criterion and its modifications for different types of LTI systems. The derived results are demonstrated with selected illustrative examples. Due to the geometrical character of the Mikhailov criterion, these examples are complemented by a graphical representation of the Mikhailov curve in the complex plane. From these visualizations, one can decide on the stability of the relevant systems without having to compute the roots of the characteristic polynomial
The project of 6kV switchgear without SF6 gas
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to become familiar with the work of a design engineer. The thesis focuses on the practical development of a study for the reconstruction of a high-voltage substation in an industrial facility. The theoretical part of the thesis presents basic information about switching equipment. At the beginning of the practical section, the current state of the SF switchgear is described, along with important information for proposing a new switchgear solution. The subsequent part of the thesis is practically dedicated to the design of an air-insulated switchgear
Neural Networks: Experimentation with Activation Functions
Ve druhé části práce experimentujeme s funkcemi Sigmoid, Tanh, ReLU, GELU, ELU a Swish v konvolučních neuronových sítích a autoenkodérech v oblasti detekce anomálií. Používáme datovou sadu Yahoo S5 a poté modifikované datové sady CIFAR-10 a MNIST.
The effect of hydrogen on the properties of materials used in turbochargers
This bachelor's thesis investigates the influence of gaseous hydrogen on the properties of spheroidal graphite cast iron (EN-GJS 400-15), a material commonly used in the production of turbocharger components for internal combustion engines. The goal of the thesis is to evaluate the behavior of this material when exposed to a hydrogen environment under elevated temperature and pressure conditions that simulate real operating states. The thesis includes a literature review covering turbocharger design variants, the impact of fuel quality and composition on their operation, and the materials used for their key components. Furthermore, it explores hydrogen's effect in terms of its penetration into materials and models of hydrogen embrittlement. The experimental part focuses on evaluating the properties of three groups of samples prepared from a turbocharger insert. These samples were tested using mechanical testing, as well as fractographic and metallographic analysis
Technical Conditions of Tender Documentation between the Czech Republic and Selected EU Countries
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the analysis of technical conditions in the tender documentation for public construction contracts in selected member states of the European Union – the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany. The aim of the thesis is to compare the approaches of these countries to the formulation of technical conditions and to identify differences in their interpretation. Through content analysis of actual tender documentation and the relevant national and EU legislation, both formal and substantive aspects of the technical specifications were examined, with particular attention to project documentation and bills of quantities. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the public procurement process and highlight key differences in how technical specifications are structured in the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany. These variations may affect the potential for cross-border participation of suppliers within the EU single market
Design, Optimization, and Testing of a Trading Strategy for Futures Markets
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the design, optimization, and testing of an algorithmic trading strategy in the crude oil futures market. The theoretical part highlights key areas related to financial markets, algorithmic and discretionary trading, including strategy testing methods and potential errors in the development process. The practical part is dedicated to analyzing market characteristics, followed by the design and testing of a trading strategy on a selected futures market
Privacy Protection in Shared Transportation
Teoretická část poskytuje přehled o ITS a typech sdílené dopravy, a rovněž popisuje bezpečnostní výzvy v této oblasti.
