This seminar paper deals with the geodetic aspects of the construction of an industrial hall located in the Orlen Unipetrol complex in Záluží near Litvínov. It focuses on the entire construction process—from the pre-design survey through the execution of construction works to the integration of the structure into operation—in accordance with the relevant Czech technical standards. The paper includes testing the usability of precise measurements using a total station with a tilt compensation system and GNSS technology supplemented by photogrammetry. A statistical analysis of measurement accuracy was conducted on a sample of 30 points. The test results provide an overview of the suitability of individual methods for various phases of the construction process
Experimental and Computational Analysis of Bonded Rivet Joints in Aircraft Structures
The diploma thesis focuses on the experimental and computational analysis of bonded- rivet joints used in aircraft structures, with an emphasis on their static load-bearing capacity. The assignment was based on a request from Evektor, where the use of bonded-riveted joints is common in small sport aircraft, but not usually included in analyses. The aim of the thesis was to develop a methodology that would consider the influence of the adhesive. The experimental part consists of shear and compression tests based on real aircraft structural joints. It also includes laboratory aging of the adhesive according to the PV 1200 standard, with both 16 and 32 cycle variants. Supplementary tests at elevated temperatures were carried out beyond the original testing program. The test results showed that, for shear joints of the given configuration, bonding increased the load-bearing capacity by up to 114% after aging with 32 cycles. In contrast, the compression samples demonstrated that the increase in critical load during buckling was far less significant compared to the shear samples. The greatest increase, 13%, was achieved after 16 aging cycles. The experimental results are compared with analytical and finite element (FEM) methods. Based on the results, a methodology for analytical calculations was developed, utilizing the superposition method and a correction factor for shear samples. For compression samples, an FEA model with appropriately tuned support stiffness was employed
Computing Speech Transmission Index in Matlab
This master’s thesis focuses on the calculation of the Speech Transmission Index (STI) according to the ČSN EN IEC 60268-16 standard and builds upon an existing implementation of the simplified STIPA method published in [1]. The main objective is to extend the MATLAB-based software tool to include the full direct STI method (Full STI), the indirect method using impulse response, and the visualization of intermediate results for educational purposes. As part of the system design, test signals with intensity modulation in seven octave bands were generated, modulation indices and effective signal-to-noise ratios were calculated, and their weighted combination was used to derive the final STI value. The tool also offers graphical representations of key parameters, including the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), spectrograms, and STI qualification bands. The proposed solution was experimentally validated through measurements at two listening positions in a lecture hall. The results were compared with reference values obtained from a certified measurement analyzer and with STI values computed from impulse responses, which were acquired using the Room EQ Wizard (REW) software. At the first measurement position, all methods produced comparable results within the standard's measurement uncertainty; at the second position, more significant deviations were observed, particularly for the STIPA method, highlighting its greater sensitivity to specific acoustic conditions. The findings suggest that the developed MATLAB tool enables STI calculation using multiple methods and produces consistent results in selected measurement scenarios. However, due to the observed discrepancies, further validation in diverse acoustic environments is recommended to comprehensively verify the functionality of the tool
Design of a Portable Power Station
This bachelor thesis focuses on the design of an inverter suitcase generator with a power output of up to 2 kW. The main goal was to create a device that combines technical functionality, ease of use, and a modern appearance. The design is based on a conducted design and technical analysis, which helped define the key requirements for the construction and appearance of the product. The final outcome is a modern and ergonomically designed generator that offers a practical and visually balanced alternative to existing market solutions
Fuel in oil prediction model
This thesis deals with the issue of fuel dilution of engine oil, which occurs mainly during cold starts. The opening chapters summarize the basic principles of lubrication, fuel properties, and engine control mechanisms that influence this phenomenon. Based on a literature review, key influencing factors were identified and current prediction approaches were evaluated. A new model was then proposed, dividing the fuel into fractions based on the composition of gasoline and separately describing their accumulation and evaporation. The model was experimentally verified and its results were compared with analytical data
Residential Building
The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis is to describe design a nearly-zero energy detached house in Litomyšl. The thesis includes two parts: the architectural and structural design and the design of building services. The thesis also includes a 2D model of the roof drain detail, analyzed for condensation risk. The building has two floors and a rectangular plan. The building has an attached carport with a garden shed. The ground floor contains an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, a bedroom, a bathroom and a technical room. The first floor includes two bedrooms, a master bedroom, a walk-in closet, a study, a toilet, and a bathroom. The building has strip footings. Both the load-bearing and the non-load-bearing walls are designed of sand-lime blocks. The floor structure and the roof structure are designed as cast-in-place reinforced concrete slabs. The roofing is designed as a warm flat roof. The facade is insulated with an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). The house is heated by a underfloor heating system powered by an air-to-water heat pump, located in the utility room, with the outdoor unit placed under the carport. Electricity is supplied from the public grid. Ventilation is designed as a mechanical balanced system with heat recovery in the utility room. Rainwater is collected in an accumulation tank and used for irrigation. Excess rainwater is infiltrated on the site. Potable water is supplied from public water main. The sewerage system is divided into black and grey water. Grey water is directed to a heat exchanger to preheat hot water, with final heating provided by a heat pump in a hot water storage tank. Both black and grey water is discharged into the wastewater sewer. The building's energy performance complies with the requirements for a passive house
