Heating Design of the Apartment Building
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the design of a central heating system for a residential apartment building. The theoretical part deals with heating elements – their types, installation methods, and the design methodology, including calculation procedures. The computational part includes the calculation of heat losses for individual rooms, the selection of heating elements, pipe sizing, and the specification of fittings. This section also includes the design of a technical room equipped with a gas condensing boiler and an indirect hot water storage heater. Additionally, the design of expansion and safety devices is addressed. The project section contains the development of design documentation for the central heating system, including floor plans and piping diagrams. The final part includes a technical report summarizing the heating system design and providing information on its operation
Applications of dual-energy CT based images for analysis of multiple myeloma
Non-invasive flowmeter design with IoT
House for the Eldery
The assignment of the bachelor thesis was the design of housing for the elderly in Brno on náměstí Míru. It is a plot of land adjacent to the square. The proposed building consists of three buildings arranged in an U-shape. The facade of the top floor is coloured in brick, as are the roofs of the surrounding buildings. The same colour is used to highlight the vertical on the building, which form the imaginary 'back' of the square. The facade thus responds to the tower of St Augustine's Church, which stands on the opposite side of the square. The ground floor of the building has rentable spaces, accessible directly from the square or the street. The building adjacent to the square features mainly rooms for the elderly who need partial assistance in everyday life. There is also a room where various events can be held for the residents, a chapel, administrative and caregiver's rooms. The other two buildings also respond in height to their surroundings. The building in Lerchova Street reaches the same height as the Christian school opposite, and the building in Údolní Street terraces downwards in the same way as the street itself. Both buildings have apartments for the elderly who are able to care for themselves. On the ground floor of the buildings there is an exercise hall, a canteen serving only the residents and staff of the building and workshops where various workshops with a crafting theme can be held for the elderly. All of these spaces are accessible from an internal promenade that connects all three buildings, which otherwise function separately. A private atrium is created in the middle of the block, shielded from the bustle of the adjacent streets by the buildings of the retirement home. The underground level houses storage, cellars and garages. This increases the parking capacity in the area
Evaluation of the Company´s Performance using Benchmarking Approach
The thesis deals with the evaluation of the performance of DACHSER Czech Republic a.s. through the benchmarking method. In the first part, the theoretical background is defined, which serves as a basis for the remaining parts of the thesis. The next part is an analysis of the current situation, followed by a chapter focused on benchmarking of the company with selected competitors. The last part deals with suggestions for improving the current situation of the company
Objective Assessment of Audio Quality Using Psychoacoustic Metrics
This master thesis focuses on the objective evaluation of sound quality using psychoacoustic metrics. While physical acoustics concentrates on measurable sound parameters, psychoacoustics connects these parameters with human auditory perception. The thesis provides a theoretical introduction to psychoacoustic metrics such as loudness, sharpness, fluctuation strength, and roughness, and further discusses their significance in assessing sound quality. In the practical part, the calculation of these metrics was implemented in the Matlab environment, including the creation of functions mvjrFilters, mvjrLoudness, mvjrSharpness, mvjrFluctuation, and mvjrRoughness. The work also includes the design of a user interface for the simple calculation of the mentioned metrics and the function mvjrMatlabCheck for comparing the results with the reference functions of the Matlab Audio Toolbox. The results were obtained based on test files and are presented using graphs and numerical values. The conclusion includes an evaluation of the results and recommendations for possible revision and refinement of the calculations. This work thus contributes to a better understanding and practical use of psychoacoustic metrics in the objective evaluation of sound quality
Evaluation of differences of leasee´s recognition of leases in accordance with the IFRS 16 and Slovak accounting regulation and its impact on selected financial ratios
The diploma thesis focuses on the accounting treatment of lease contracts from the perspective of lessees according to IFRS 16 and Slovak accounting legislation. It compares the approaches of both frameworks and assesses their impact on financial statements and ratios. Includes a model calculations and suggestions that may contribute to more faithful reporting of leases in Slovak accounting
Creation of a Macro Library for EPLAN ProPanel
In this bachelor's thesis, we focused on the design and implementation of components for 3D switchgear design using SolidWorks and EPLAN ProPanel software. The aim of the thesis was to create 3D models of electrical components and transfer them into the EPLAN ProPanel environment via the Stepfile format. Subsequently, a catalog and article database were created to enable efficient use in design processes. The thesis also includes the development of a sample 3D switchboard project, incorporating thermal loss calculations and the design of an optimal cooling system based on ambient temperature conditions. The result is a comprehensive system comprising functional graphical macros, an article database, and a practical solution for the design and optimization of the cooling system. This work contributes to enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of electrical switchboard design in industrial practice
The Sanitary and Gas Instalation of the Apartment Building
The bachelor's thesis is focused on sanitary and gas installations in an apartment building in the village of Buchlovice, including its connection to existing engineering networks. The theoretical part deals with odor traps. The calculation and design part is focused on the specific design of the sewerage, water supply and gas pipeline in an apartment building and the subsequent connection of these networks to existing engineering networks. The building has one underground floor and three above-ground floors. The first above-ground floor contains 2 residential units and a doctor's office
The Uses of the Project Management Tools for Information System Development in Practice
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the application of project management methods to a project aimed at modifying the methodology for managing data records in an information system. The thesis is structured into three main parts. The first part is theoretical—it outlines the theoretical background and describes the methods and tools used. The second part introduces the company and provides details about the current technical solution. In the final part, the methods and tools discussed in the first part are applied to the project
