PROGRESS IMPLEMENTATION REPORT FOR II. PROJECT SOLUTION STAGE: Optimizing the production of special components from the point of view of forming technology and increasing resistance by surface treatments to the operating conditions of thermal and chemical loads
No full textThe report contains the project solution in the second stage. Follow-up research and development aimed at optimizing several technological processes, namely forming, heat treatment, chemical heat treatment, and finally surface treatment using PVD technologies, was moved to the stage of optimizing technological processes in their interconnection. The research also focused on optimizing analytical methods for adequate verification of the outputs from technological processes and verification of mechanical resistance and resistance in complex degradation conditions caused by various aggressive environments in terms of temperature and chemicals. The results show the benefits of optimized heat treatment in terms of improved formability, and based on these results, the forming production processes for the production of innovative products, which are the goal of the project, are optimized. On the other hand, i.e., from the point of view of resistance in degradation operating conditions approximated in laboratory machines and instruments, a shift in the increase in resistance after the application of initial surface treatments by diffusion methods and PVD technologies using low-voltage reactive arc evaporation in a vacuum was verified. Changes after degradation processes are verified by feedback using optimized analytical methods

The research combines knowledge from electrochemistry, electrical engineering, and electrical technology to achieve reliable equipment that enables the preparation of sharp tips, primarily from transition metals (e.g., tungsten, molybdenum, and others) with a wide range of uses, namely as field emission cathodes, STM probes, and nanomanipulators. The main output for the client is drawing documentation that allows the apparatus to be replicated, as well as one functional prototype, which was constructed within the CR to verify functionality
How should the Czech Republic finance increased defense spending: an economic perspective
No full textThe currently planned increase in defense spending is likely to be long-term. From a purely economic point of view, it is optimal in such a situation to finance increases primarily by increasing taxes. The share of financing through higher taxes increases with the expected duration of the expenditure increase. The later taxes are raised, the less efficient the financing of defense expenditures will be. The guiding principle is to try to spread the tax burden evenly over time. Due to its high inefficiency, financing increases in defense solely through increased public budget deficits—and thus rising debt—cannot be recommended

The aim of the thesis will be to define a system of counseling services focusing on career counseling for students of SZeŠ Písek, to outline the possibilities of career counseling used by students of the 3rd and 4th grades, to assess the preferences of the students themselves and to evaluate what influences students when making decisions about a university. No full textThe methodology addresses the digitization and stitching of large-format documents (maps, plans) in memory institutions. A key benefit is the introduction of newly developed open-source applications MapStitcher and Exposea. MapStitcher is used to stitch scans and Exposea to stitch photos. Both applications use advanced machine learning techniques for precise pixel-level alignment and removal of visible seams. The methodology describes in detail the entire digitization workflow, including recommendations for document preparation and ensuring minimal image overlap for reliable joining. By introducing these standardized procedures and open-source tools, merging becomes a routine, transparent and sustainable part of the digitization workflows of memory institutions
Tripartite as a tool for student self-evaluation
No full textThe thesis focuses on tripartite meetings as a tool for developing students' self-assessment. The aim of the research was to find out how teachers in public and private schools use tripartite meetings to support students' self-assessment, and what impact the regular integration of self-assessment into teaching has on students' ability to assess their strengths and areas for development. The research used qualitative methods, specifically semi-structured interviews with teachers from three schools, observations of tripartite meetings, and analysis of authentic materials. The results showed and confirmed the findings of the theoretical part that tripartite meetings are a significant tool for developing students' self-assessment. However, their effectiveness depends on the regularity and manner of integrating self-assessment into teaching, as well as on the approach and beliefs of individual teachers. The research also highlights the importance of formative assessment, which significantly positively influences students' self-concept. The thesis provides inspiration for teachers on how to effectively use tripartite meetings to support the development of students' self-assessment. The strategy of the Fair trade movement in the fight for a fair world
No full textThis thesis primarily focuses on analyzing the strategies used by the Fair trade social movement in fulfilling its vision of fair trade. The main objective is to understand these strategies, to reveal the factors influencing their selection, to map their implementation in practice and to examine how these strategies evolve over time, thereby provides a detailed perspective on how the movement aims to reduce inequalities in global trade. The thesis also explores the classification of the Fair trade movement within the broader context of social movements and seeks to answer whether Fair trade can truly be considered a social movement, and if so, what type of movement it represents. The findings not only provide a comprehensive overview of its strategies, their implementation and impact, but also contri- bute to understanding the dynamics of the Fair trade movement and its ability to adapt to changing conditions. Explainable LLM-based evaluation for NLG using error analysis
No full textTraditional metrics for evaluating natural language generation (NLG) often struggle to capture linguistic complexity or align with human judgment. Recently, approaches based on large language models (LLMs) have been proposed to address these limitations. However, many existing approaches rely on proprietary LLMs or lack sufficient explainability. This thesis explores the potential of open-weight LLMs to develop a robust and explainable method for NLG evaluation. We develop a prompt-based evaluation method that applies an ensemble of LLMs to assess the quality of generated texts. This method is then applied to construct a synthetic training dataset that represents a wide range of tasks, evaluation aspects and systems. Using this dataset, we train a specialized evaluator model through distillation, employing Llama 3.1 8B as the backbone. Evaluation on a number of benchmarks demonstrates that our ensemble approach outperforms both the traditional NLG metrics as well as trained neural models and LLM-based methods. Additionally, the fine-tuned evaluator achieves competitive performance, with substantial improvements over the backbone model
Evaluation of the satisfaction of clients of the TP Sananim Low Threshold Work and Stabilization Programme
No full textBackgrounds: Client satisfaction evaluation is one of the means of obtaining feedback on services in the Low Threshold Work and Stabilization Program operated by Sananim's outreach programs. This gives clients the opportunity to express their needs and provide feedback on services. Aims: The aim of the research was to determine the satisfaction of clients with the Low Threshold Work and Stabilization Program. I wanted to find out how satisfied the clients were with the services offered, if there was anything missing from the program and what the weaknesses of the program might be. Methods and research set: I used the RAR - Rapid assesment and response methodology to obtain the data. I collected data through semi-structured interviews with 21 clients of the program. I selected respondents through purposive sampling across institutions. They were adult clients of Sananim outreach programs who are injecting drug users, attend the Low Threshold Work and Stabilization Program, and consented to participate in the research. During the interviews, I took notes on a recording sheet and then converted the data into an electronic format for content analysis. Respondents' participation in the research was voluntary and anonymous, with no remuneration. The research was approved by the ethics committee of the..
