Gender-based violence in the Army of the Czech Republic
The diploma thesis is focused on gender-based violence in individual units in the Czech Armed Forces. It provides an insight into the mutual position of women and men in the Czech Army and the state of their gender equality. In the theoretical part, the thesis explains the gendered nature of the army and also situates it within the broader sociological framework of male domination. In the Czech context, it focuses on the professional reflection on women's entry into the army, as well as on the different types and levels of discrimination not only against women but also against men. In the empirical part, apart from the description of the methodology, the thesis also deals with the analysis of semi-structured interviews with selected female members of the Armed Forces and a qualitative analysis of this environment is carried out with the help of the analysis of Ministry of Defence documents dealing with the issue. The aim is to identify specific inequalities, sexism or discrimination of female members that can be observed but not heard in the units of the Armed Forces. In the future, it will be easier to focus on the means to eliminate and "erase" gender prejudices, stereotypes and overall attitudes towards women, but also towards men, in the Czech Armed Forces. Keywords Czech Armed Forces,..
Multilingual Detection of Persuasion Techniques in Text using Large Language Models
This thesis leverages the open-source large language model Llama 3.3 for fine-grained persuasion techniques detection in multilingual news articles, generating span-based an- notations with structured JSON output. We implement a robust reprompting mechanism to address erroneous outputs. We investigate zero-shot and few-shot prompting of the base model and its QLoRA fine-tuned variant, and evaluate multiple system prompt variants and two span-to-article alignment strategies. Few-shot prompting with same- language examples proves to be most effective across languages. Our findings reveal limited cross-lingual transferability for both in-context learning and QLoRA fine-tuning. We also show that QLoRA fine-tuning can compensate for the model's limited multilin- gual coverage. Our method demonstrates adaptability to diverse annotation schemes
Analyses of the maximum speed phase in women's short hurdle races
This bachelor thesis deals with the biomechanical analysis of the maximum speed phase in the 100 m hurdles in Czech female athletes. In sports practice and scientific literature, attention is paid mainly to the acceleration phase of hurdles running, thus the maximum speed phase is often neglected. However, it is this part that decisively influences the final time and can allow athletes to gain a crucial advantage over their rivals. The aim of this study was to compare the biomechanical characteristics of rhythmic units (stride length, phase times, speed) in this phase with the values achieved by elite female athletes in the world and to assess the strengths and weaknesses of Czech female hurdlers. The measurements were carried out in the pressurized hall at Strahov within the testing meeting of the Sports Centre for Youth (SCM) on 16 July 2024. Ten female athletes of different age and performance level, who regularly participate in the Czech National Championships, participated in the research investigation. Data were collected using the Optojump optoelectronic system and radar speed measurement, supplemented by video analysis of running over the first five hurdles. Analysis of individual rhythmic units between the 2nd-5th hurdles was performed. The data obtained were processed using statistical..
"Iam always two" or development of Jiří Suchý's poetics on the example of the character of Jonáš
The aim of the thesis is to define the transformation of the poetics of Jiří Suchý on the example of his character Jonáš, which is chosen because of its centrality in Suchý's work. Based on the analysis of the construction of this character in the key plays (Jonáš a tingltangl, Jonáš a doktor Matrace a Jonáš, dejme tomu v úterý), taking into account other relevant dramatic texts by J. Suchý, I will establish the differences in the conception of this character over the years, i.e.: Jonáš as an observer and witness, a small man next to the big history; Jonáš as a participant in social dialogue; Jonáš as a nostalgic figure and Jonáš as a metaphor of life attitude. At the same time, I will determine how these differences are reflected in the transformation of the authorial poetics of J. Suchý
Didactical Methods and Teaching Aids used by Math Teachers from Selected European Countries focusing on Visually Impaired Students
The purpose of the thesis Didactical Methods and Teaching Aids used by Math Teachers from Selected European Coountries focusing on Visually Impaired Studentsis to introduce the reader with possible educational procedures and methods that are used while teaching students with visual impairments. The theoretical part discusses typhlopedia, classification of visual impairments, severe visual impairment and teaching mathematics to students with visual impairments. The main goal of the theoretical part is to familiarize and inspire the reader with possible educational methods, didactic procedures and special aids that can be used when working with the visually impaired. The practical part aims to find out what experiences primary and secondary special math teachers in selected European countries have with the education of visually impaired individuals. At the end of the work, these experiences and advice can work as a standard for more effective education of individuals with visual impairments and an inspiration for beginning teachers or teachers at regular schools. To collect the needed data the qualitative research method of a semi-structured interview is used in the practical part of the thesis. The respondents are mathematics teachers from an elementary or secondary school for the visually impaired...

Strength training in para-athletes with lower limb amputation
AND KEYWORDS TITLE: Strength training of paraathletes with lower limb amputations: OBJECTIVE The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and describe the specifics, models and exercises of strength training in parasport athletes with lower limb amputation based on a literature search. Emphasis is placed on the individualization of training programs with respect to the type of amputation (transtibial or transfemoral). A comprehensive overview of the specifics of strength training for parasport athletes with DK amputation together with the specification of training procedures could serve as a guide for coaches, physiotherapists and the athletes themselves in practice. METHODS The bachelor thesis is presented in the form of a literature search using keywords and their combinations. It is prepared in the form of a literature search. The methods used for the preparation of this thesis follow the principles of a systematic literature search of the PRISMA 2020 Flow Diagram type, see Chapter 5.1 PRISMA Flow Diagram (Diagram 1 - selection of studies for the search). Data were retrieved from official scientific online databases (Pubmed, Web of science, EBSCOhost, ScienceDirect, GoogleScholar, Scopus). The selected studies were then sorted, assessed and iterated. A total of 1,925 titles were identified, of..
Council of Czech Radio: Considerations de lege lata and de lege ferenda
Council of Czech Radio: Considerations de lege lata and de lege ferenda Abstract This thesis focuses on evaluating the current legal regulation of the Czech Radio Council as the body through which the public's right to control the activities of Czech Radio is exercised. The introduction to the thesis presents the concept of public service media, their significance in the context of today's unstable times, and whether their significance can be easily defined. The social role of radio broadcasting in the 21st century is also analysed. Attention is also paid to individual entities in the Czech Republic that provide public service in the areas of the media market and broadcasting, namely Czech Radio, Czech Television, and the Czech Press Agency. Other parts of the thesis deal with the legal regulation of Czech Radio, its historical development since the 1990s, and recent legislative changes. A fundamental component of the functioning of public service media is its independence from state power and funding, which is provided outside the state budget. The thesis therefore regularly mentions the importance of objective broadcasting and other components that are inherent to public service media. The focus of the thesis is a detailed analysis of the Czech Radio Council. It critically evaluates the method of..
The degree of intelligibility of children's speech for adult speakers of Czech
This bachelor thesis deals with the degree of intelligibility of children's speech among two groups of adult listeners differing in the degree of regular contact with young children. The main aim of the thesis is to examine whether frequent exposure to children's speech enhances the ability to understand it, even when listening to the speech of an unfamiliar child. The theoretical part focuses on the development of children's speech, particularly the acquisition of its phonetic aspects, as well as the perceptual mechanisms that enable listeners to adapt to speech variability. The methodological part is based on a perceptual test constructed from samples of children's speech, administered to selected groups of respondents - 21 listeners in the contact group and 22 listeners in the non-contact group. Participants were asked to listen to the recordings, transcribe what they believed the child was saying, and rate how confident they were in their response. The results showed no significant difference in success rates between the groups, and thus the main hypothesis of the study was not confirmed, as frequent contact with children's speech does not facilitate its understanding. On the contrary, a strong correlation was found between response accuracy and confidence level in both groups
