Theory and Practice of Interpretation Techniques in Environmental Education Programs and Lectures - Interpretation Should Be Fun
This thesis aims to highlight the discrepancy between theory and practice in environmental education and to describe current trends in its development within today's socio- cultural context-one increasingly dominated by audiovisual technologies and characterized by a growing sense of disconnection from nature among school-aged children. In addition to semi-structured interviews, the thesis presents a comparison between theoretical concepts and their practical application. The theoretical framework draws upon literature focused on teaching and educational methods related to environmental and ecological issues-particularly the interpretation of environmental topics (IET). The practical perspective is provided by experienced educators who, at least theoretically, base their work on these methodological approaches. Interviews were conducted with these educators, as well as with professionals involved in the implementation and development of IET in the Czech Republic. The literature used for the theoretical part was selected based on commonly available publications that are widely used in practice. The interviews are anonymized and semi- structured, with questions focusing on the educators' experience: the methodologies they apply, their motivation for engaging with IET, and their perspectives on its..
The immediate effect of the per rectum technique on the pelvic floor muscles according to the Ludmila Mojžíšová method on paracoccygeal local pain and postural stability
Author: Bc. Jiřina Škrovová Supervisor: PhDr. Helena Vomáčková, Ph.D. Title: The immediate effect of the per rectum technique on the pelvic floor muscles according to the Ludmila Mojžíšová method on paracoccygeal local pain and postural stability Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to verify the immediate effect of manual treatment of the pelvic floor muscles using the per rectum palpation technique on paracoccygeal pain, measured with a pressure algometer. Additionally, the aim is to assess changes in the reaction time parameter of postural stability before and after the pelvic floor muscle intervention. Methods: The research sample (n=14) consisted of two groups of women with symptoms indicative of pelvic floor dysfunction. The experimental group included 7 participants with a mean age of 24.42 ± 0.79 years and an average BMI of 21.35 ± 2.15 kg/mš. These participants underwent therapeutic intervention of the pelvic floor muscles using the per rectum technique. Paracoccygeal pain was measured using a pressure algometer before and after the treatment. Postural stability was assessed using a pre- and post-test design. The control group also consisted of 7 participants, with a mean age of 23.3 ± 1.98 years and an average BMI of 23.86 ± 2.92 kg/mš and underwent only double posturographic..
Development of a Text-Based Computer Game to Support Zoology Education
Didactic games are a phenomenon commonly used in educational processes, primarily as a motivational tool for students, often as an introductory element to a topic or as a method for verifying already acquired knowledge. The aim of this thesis was to create a text-based didactic game to support zoology education, specifically the activity of identifying selected vertebrates of the Czech Republic. The game was created in the form of an interactive gamebook with rich visual elements, using the TWINE 2 software, specifically with the JavaScript library SugarCube2, whose structure is specifically designed for creating interactive narratives and also enables the integration of complex game systems. The gamebook adopts the structure of an escape room, combining puzzles and riddles with narrative elements into which the didactic aspects of the project were integrated. The game design process, internal testing, and the development of the core gameplay elements, along with the methods used to integrate didactic content into the final gamebook form, are all described. The game offers multiple winning conditions and specific tools to support its implementation in teaching. The design and educational impact of the game were verified using a quantitative method in the form of a questionnaire survey. The..
The Art of the (Missed?) Deal: Agenda Setting of Economic Statecraft in U.S.-ASEAN Relations during the Trump's First Administration
The economic statecraft and its application played a primary role in reaching foreign policy goals during Donald Trump's first presidency. Previous research has concentrated predominantly on the sole implications of the Trump economic statecraft on the individual states. However, the formation of economic statecraft on the domestic level remains uncharted territory. With the combination of economic statecraft and agenda setting, this thesis aimed to bring a deeper understanding of this process. Using the three streams theory and examining US trade and investments, and the strategic documents published during the Trump administration, the research tried to analyze if the administration created conditions to open a window of opportunity in the economic statecraft area towards the Association of South East Asian Nations. The research conducted found that the Trump administration opened two windows of opportunity; however, it lost interest in them, ultimately not utilizing them. Furthermore, the thesis discovered that the windows of opportunity can be passed from one administration to another, bringing new insights into the research of the three streams theory and opening new opportunities for future research
A web application for interactive voting
This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a web application for interactive voting, intended as an open-source alternative to commercially available solutions. This thesis includes an analysis of existing tools, the col- lection of user requirements, and a detailed description of the system's design and development process. The result is a web-based application that is easy to deploy and customize. It supports the management of voting sessions, the collection and visualization of responses, and provides a simple user interface for both participants and organizers.
Abandoned GULAG camps as a white place in the Russian collective memory (Case of "Death Railway")
This thesis focuses on the abandoned Gulag camps along the never-completed Transpolar Mainline between the cities of Salekhard and Igarka in northern Siberia. The railway, more than a thousand kilometers long, was constructed between 1947 and 1953 by an estimated one hundred thousand prisoners under extremely harsh conditions. It was one of the last major projects personally ordered by Stalin and overseen by Lavrentiy Beria. Shortly after Stalin!s death, the construction was halted and left abandoned. Since the railway passed through entirely uninhabited areas of tundra and taiga, many of the camps were never dismantled and have survived to this day, including a remarkable number of authentic objects from the daily lives of the prisoners. Based on three expeditions carried out in 2009, 2011, and 2013 - during which sixteen camps were thoroughly documented - a unique collection of archival, photographic, and testimonial sources was assembled. This material forms the core of the thesis. In addition to describing the camps and their physical condition, the text focuses primarily on how contemporary Russian soci- ety relates to these remnants of the Gulag. The thesis explores why there is virtually no systematic care for these sites, why no official memorials or museums have been established, and why,..
Quantifying a Decade of Gender Dynamics in the Omegaverse
Tato diplomová práce zkoumá, jak fanfikce z prostředí Omegaverse transformuje biologicky deterministický genderový systém tohoto tropu prostřednictvím participativního autorství. Na základě analýzy 100 anglicky psaných fanfikcí publikovaných na platformě Archive of Our Own v letech 2014 až 2023 využívá teoreticky ukotvenou obsahovou analýzu opřenou o teorii tělesnosti Elizabeth Grosz (1994), performativitu Judith Butler (1988, 2006, 2011) a koncept kyborgí hybridizace Donny Haraway (2006). Studie zkoumá, jak postavy typů Alpha, Beta a Omega potvrzují nebo narušují normativní genderové skripty skrze tělesnost, rituální pářící praktiky a technologické či medicínské zásahy. Zjištění ukazují, že fanouškovské autorky a autoři - zejména skrze ztvárnění postav typu Omega - čím dál více vzdorují reprodukčnímu esencialismu přepisováním genderovaných těl a scénářů.
Stakeholder mapping of the specific sports association
Title: Stakeholder mapping of the selected sports association Targets: The aim of the thesis is to map the relations of the selected sports organization with these stakeholders based on identification, description and analysis of stakeholders. The sub-objectives are to assess the expectations of the stakeholders towards the selected sports organization, to differentiate between internal and external stakeholders and to determine their position using visual tools such as relationship maps, Mitchell's three attributes model and the Power-Interest matrix. Methods: Qualitative methods were chosen for data collection, namely semi- structured interviews, group discussions and analysis of internal documents of the organization. Interviews and discussions were conducted with selected stakeholder representatives across the organisational structure. The document analysis was based on the constitution and publicly available documents. Results: More than 40 stakeholders of the selected sports organization were identified, differing in the type of relationship with the organisation, level of influence and specific expectations. The analysis showed differences between the formal definition of stakeholders in the documents and their actual perception by the respondents. The results are four visual maps that show..
