Nurses' knowledge of communication with patients with mental disabilities
The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis presents the basic background of communication with patients with intellectual disabilities, describes their psychological specificities and in order to show the range and variability of problems that can be encountered in communication with a patient with intellectual disabilities, it devotes space to communication issues with a focus on the specific picture of people with Down syndrome and autism spectrum disorders. In the practical part, it evaluates the results of the questionnaire survey and concludes that the mere frequency of meetings does not automatically bring about a change in the attitude of nurses towards patients with intellectual disabilities. The thesis concludes with practical recommendations for nurses' communication with patients with intellectual disabilities
Phraseological units in Czech sign language?
The present thesis focuses on phraseology and the possibilities of defining phraseological units in Czech sign language. The thesis aims to collect and compare various concepts of phraseology and phraseological units in sign languages and to relate the findings to material on Czech sign language. However, due to insufficient literature, the thesis is based primarily on knowledge written about spoken languages. To fulfill the objectives of the thesis, is proceeded from a description of the traditionally cited criteria used to define phraseological units to several others. The criteria described are illustrated with examples (primarily from the Czech language), related to knowledge about presumed phraseological units (in the context of foreign sign languages, the term idiom is used), and commented on the differences resulting from the different modality of spoken and sign languages. Subsequently, with the help of the criteria, a definition of a phraseological unit of the Czech sign language is created. In the second part of the thesis, this definition is first compared, using the established criteria, with knowledge about two groups of signs, indirect naming units (Nováková, 2009) and specific signs (Vysuček, 2008, 2009), as these groups of signs had previously been discussed in the context of Czech..

Effect of cold exposure on myokine production in rat skeletal muscle
Among the most common diseases of civilization in the contemporary population of the Western world is metabolic syndrome, which includes obesity or type 2 diabetes (diabetes mellitus). The consequences of this disease lead to other chronic problems and diseases that reduce the overall quality of life. It is known, that an appropriate prevention but also treatment is sufficient physical activity, which leads to an increase in energy expenditure and is accompanied by the production of small bioactive molecules called myokines by muscle tissue. Some myokines have been shown to have a beneficial effect on the organism. We are working with the hypothesis that appropriate exposure to cold, which also increases energy expenditure throughout the body, while activating muscle tissue, induces the production of myokines in muscle and can be used in the prevention and treatment of civilization diseases in combination with physical activity to improve the overall health of the individual and accelerate the normalization of metabolism. Thus, the aim of this work is to test myokine production in slow and fast skeletal muscle in different modes of cold acclimation. Keywords: civilization diseases, cold acclimation, skeletal muscle, myokine
University students' opinions and attitudes towards addictive behavior
Title: Opinions and Attitudes of University Students Towards Addictive Behaviour Background: Addictive behavior represents a serious and current social issue, with university students forming a high-risk group. Understanding their attitudes can offer deeper insights into factors influencing their behavior and contribute to more effective prevention strategies. Aim: The aim of this thesis is to explore the opinions and attitudes of university students regarding addictive behavior, and how they perceive various addictive substances- particularly in terms of acceptability of use and attitudes toward addiction treatment. Methods: A quantitative study was conducted using an online questionnaire distributed via social media. The sample consisted of 150 students aged 18-30 from Prague universities across various fields of study. Data were processed in MS Excel. Results: Respondents' answers revealed that university students generally have tolerant attitudes toward addictive behavior, especially with regard to occasional use of legal substances such as alcohol, tobacco, and sleep or calming medications. Alcohol was most often considered morally acceptable, while heroin and methamphetamine were strictly rejected. Regular use was viewed much more negatively than occasional use. Most respondents supported..
The Theme of Death in "the Covid Period"
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-2022, the topic of death became a common part of communication in the media and in private. The pandemic made death present. However, Covid measures and the fear of spreading the infection reduced the possibilities of rituals associated with death and departure, which in the Czech Republic were already quite poor and often empty of content for the survivors. The problem of depersonalization of death, which, among other things, began to open in the Czech Republic due to the development of home hospice care, education, awareness-raising and the work of pastoral guides, deepened during this time. This work reflects on whether the view of death and relationship to it has changed in this COVID era and how this change has been reflected in the rituals associated with death
Impact of noise on the human psyche and its representation in Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
This bachelor's thesis explores the impact of noise on human psychology and behaviour and analyses how these effects are represented in Patrick Ness's novel The Knife of Never Letting Go. The theoretical section defines key concepts related to noise, including its cognitive, emotional, and physiological consequences. Special attention is given to the role of silence as a necessary condition for mental stability and personal space. The practical part focuses on the literary interpretation of the phenomenon of Noise, which in Ness's work functions as a metaphor for the loss of privacy, psychological overload, and identity control. The methodology combines literary analysis with current psychological research on noise and theories of surveillance. The results demonstrate that Noise is not merely part of the fictional world but fulfils an essential narrative and thematic role. The thesis concludes that The Knife of Never Letting Go reflects contemporary concerns related to the digital age, information overload, and the psychological impact of constant exposure. Corporate social responsibility: A case of selected Czech football clubs
Title: Corporate Social Responsibility of Selected Professional Football Clubs Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the key corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of a Czech professional football club and to propose ways for further development. Methods: The research consists of analysing secondary data, conducting an in-depth qualitative interview with the club's CSR manager, and conducting a quantitative online survey among fans. It considers both the management's perspective and fans' perceptions of CSR activities. Results: Research on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of a selected Czech football club has shown that the club actively engages in a range of CSR activities, which are positively perceived by both the club's management and its fans. The main areas of interest include health and prevention, working with children and youth, inclusivity, community, and environmental responsibility. The results also indicated that CSR activities increase fan loyalty to the club and are considered important for its image and reputation. Although awareness of CSR activities is high, the personal participation of fans in these activities is still rather exceptional, suggesting potential for further development and community engagement. Keywords: CSR, corporate..
