Design of reinforced concrete structure
This thesis focuses on two variants of the ceiling slab for the extension of the 5th floor. The first variant is a monolithic ceiling slab, which is lightened using U-Boot formwork. The second variant is the design of a beam ceiling. The next part of the thesis assesses the existing vertical structures, where it was necessary to design reinforcement for the internal columns using FRP wrapping. The outcome of the thesis is a static calculation, a shape drawing, and reinforcement details. The calculations were performed using Scia Engineer 24.0, while the design of the wrapping reinforcement was calculated using Sika Carbodur V7.0. The drawing documentation was created using AutoCAD 2023 and CADKON RC+ 2025 software

Cat Centre
The aim of this Master’s thesis is to develop project documentation of a new nearly-zero energy Cat Centre building in Brno-Bystrc. The building was designed as detached and has one above-ground floor. It has four functional units: a cat shelter, cat café, veterinary office and a pet supply shop. The building plot is accessible by local road and is slightly sloping. The thesis has three parts. The first part presents structural and architectural design and also building physics assessment. The second part presents the design of building services – ventilation, heating, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and rainwater management. The external and internal load-bearing walls are designed as a masonry system from adobe-clay bricks. The facade is designed as ventilated with a ventilated air gap and is thermally insulated with mineral wool. The partition walls are made of plasterboard. The floor structure is a foundation slab. The roof is designed as a flat green roof which floats over timber framing. The house has mechanical ventilation. It is heated by floor heating with district heating as the heat source. The building is cooled by air conditioning units with heat pump as the cold source. 57 photovoltaic panels are installed on the roof of the building providing electricity. The rainwater is collected from roofs and is used for watering greenery and maintenance of sidewalks. The Energy Performance Certificate was developed. The third part of the Master’s thesis deals with the Life-Cycle assessment (LCA) of six different compositions of ventilated facades. These compositions differ from each other in the type of fibrous thermal insulation material, load-bearing structure and the type of cladding layer. A wall area of 1 m2 with a heat transfer coefficient of U = 0.168 W/ (m2.K) was chosen as the functional unit for the LCA. OneClickLCA software was used in the calculations. A life cycle model was created for each component, including the different phases and modules defined in EN 15978
Interaction of spray with ambient flow
Study of the Velké Pavlovice Interchange
The subject of the diploma thesis is a technical study of an interchange near the town of Velké Pavlovice in the South Moravian Region. This involves the construction of a new highway connection from the D2 highway to the roads II/421 and II/425. The section of the D2 highway between Hustopeče and Podivín is about 16 kilometres long, without any possibility for vehicles to exit the highway. Velké Pavlovice is located just in the middle of this stretch, making it an ideal location for the interchange. The ever-increasing transit traffic in the surrounding municipalities is one of the many negative effects caused by the absence of this interchange in the region. The aim of this thesis is to propose several possible solutions for connecting the D2 highway to the adjacent second-class roads II/421 and II/425, then to evaluate the options among themselves and to find the optimal solution. A major limiting factor for the design was the preservation of the existing bridge on the II/421 road, which crosses the D2 highway. This boundary condition restricts the widening of the highway with additional lanes under the bridge structure, thus significantly influencing the design of the individual interchange options
Gym ventilation optimization
This master’s thesis focuses on optimizing ventilation in a sports hall using CFD simulations of airflows. The simulations aim to design multiple air distribution variants, select the most effi-cient option, and compare it with the existing solution. The thesis also analyzes the results of the proposed measures. Additionally, the work includes the preparation of operational pro-ject documentation for the ventilation system of the designated part of the sports hall
Energy-saving building Na Vysluní in Uherské Hradiště
The aim of the Master’s thesis is to design a new administrative building with a focus on structural solutions, energy efficiency and building environmental technologies, including experimental research on the impact of parameters on dehumidification. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is the documentation for a building permit. The building's load-bearing system consists of reinforced concrete columns and steel beams. The foundations comprise footing foundations connected by foundation beams and a base slab under a reinforced concrete core. The ceiling structure consists of prestressed reinforced concrete hollow-core panels. The roof structure is flat, single-layered, and vegetated. The second part focuses on building environmental technologies and the assessment of the building's energy performance. A portion of the electricity demand will be covered by a photovoltaic system, with panels installed on the roof. Air-to-water heat pumps are designed as the primary heat source, providing heating in winter and cooling in summer. One heat pump is also dedicated to the priority heating of domestic hot water. Air exchange is ensured through mechanical ventilation. Rainwater from the roof will be collected via roof drains and subsequently used for irrigating part of the grassed area on the property. Excess water is directed to infiltration blocks, while water from paved surfaces is routed to infiltration trenches. The third part of the thesis involves experimental measurement. The goal of the measurement was to determine the amount of water evaporating from the water surface into the air as water vapor or mechanically transferred into the air as an aerosol, which is subsequently removed by a fan. The study also analyzed the effects of various parameters on this process with regard to the efficiency of air dehumidification
Civic amenities building
The aim of this diploma thesis is to prepare project documentation for the construction of a multifunctional building with nearly zero energy consumption in the cadastral area of the town of Týniště nad Orlicí. The construction site is situated on flat terrain on the northwestern outskirts of the town. The building is designed as a standalone, basement structure with three above-ground floors. The construction system consists of Therm blocks with a certified external thermal insulation composite system. The basement and foundation slab are made of waterproof reinforced concrete, forming part of the "white tank" system that ensures protection against groundwater. The ceiling structures and staircases are made of monolithic reinforced concrete, and the roof is a single-layer extensive green roof. The basement includes technical rooms, storage spaces, an archive, a bike room, and a multipurpose room. The ground floor accommodates a café and a shop, each with separate entrances and facilities. The second floor is dedicated to office spaces, while the third floor contains three residential units
Use of waste asphalt materials in the production of asphalt mixtures
The Master‘s thesis deals with the determination of the properties of recovered binders from asphalt roofing shingles and the comparison of two asphalt concrete type mixes for surface layers, namely the reference asphalt mixture and the asphalt mixture in which part of the new asphalt binder was replaced by the addition of asphalt shingles to the asphalt mix. In the theoretical part of the paper, the properties of asphalt roofing shingles and previous research on the addition of asphalt roofing shingles to asphalt mixes are presented. In the next part of the thesis, the different test methods for recovered binders obtained from asphalt roofing shingles and for the asphalt mixtures being compared are described. In the conclusion of the thesis, the results from these tests are evaluated and compared
