The role of an infant minipuberty in the development of undescended testis

    No full text
Spermatogonia maturation is put in relation to postnatal minipuberty. Overall neoadjuvant hormonal therapy or adjuvant therapy according to testicular biopsy has been recommended in patients indicated for surgery. However, association with course of minipuberty, with anatomical has not been studied in these patients. The study aims to relate minipuberty to testicular descent, its anatomy and genetic changes, to determine possible effect of hormonal treatment on testicular descent, hormonal levels and anatomical anomalies, and possible impact of hormones from mother's milk. Infants will be closely monitored starting 3 months of age and milk of breast-feeding mothers examined. Boys indicated for surgery will be randomly assigned directly to surgery or pre-treated with LHRH analogue. An infant control group without cryptorchidism examined during minipuberty will be created. Follow-up until puberty will be emphasized. Acquired data will determine criteria for hormonal therapy instead of invasive and potentially harmful biopsy, and become pilot data for a long-term multicentric study Keywords: minipuberty, cryptorchidism, infertility, hormonal treatment, gonadoreli

The work is dedicated to the general understanding of the child role in chosen prose texts and further compares the execution of these narratives in individual texts. Key words: Egon Hostovský, Božena Benešová, Jaroslav Havlíček, narrator, child characters, focalization, child perspectiv

(Re)presentation of female action sports athletes - A framing analysis of selected Red Bull action sports movies

    No full text

Voltammetric Determination of the Drug Imipramine on a Graphite Composite Electrode

    No full text
The diploma thesis dealt with the development of voltammetric methods and optimization of conditions for the determination of the antidepressant imipramine using ultra trace graphite electrode (UTGE). Two techniques were used for the measurements: DC voltammetry (DCV) with the parameters - mixing time before analysis 5 s, polarization rate 20 mV/s, and potential step 3 mV; and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) with the parameters - mixing time before analysis 5 s, pulse height 50 mV, pulse width 100 ms (current sampled last 20 ms), pulse period 150 ms, potential step 3 mV, and polarization rate 20 mV/s. In the first part of the work, pH dependence (measured in Britton-Robinson buffer), repeatability of the determination over the whole width of the anodic potential window, and repeatability of the determination over a narrow range of potentials in the vicinity of individual analyte peaks were studied. Imipramine exhibited two peaks, based on which the optimal pH of the medium was selected. For DPV, pH = 5 (for peak 1) and pH = 10 (for peak 2) were selected, while for DCV, pH = 3 (for peak 1) and pH = 10 (peak 2) were selected. In the second part of the work, the calibration dependences in the concentration range of 0.1-100 µmol/l in deionized water, drinking water, and river water matrices were..

Key words: traffic accident, traffic crime, traffic crime perpetrators The author deals with the specifics of traffic crime from the perspective of substantive criminal law, criminology and criminology in her final thesis, which mainly consist of the perpetrator, negligence and the causes that lead to the traffic accident. The thesis also focuses on describing typical crimes commonly committed in traffic. It also focuses significantly on the issue of prevention, which is one of the main issues of government traffic policies, which examine what measures can be used to reduce the number of traffic accidents. The sixth chapter of the thesis is devoted to traffic and criminal law policies, which considers all aspects that must be considered when creating legal regulations in order to prevent and fight traffic crime. The conclusion of the thesis is that although the state spends considerable resources on the fight against traffic crime and generally pays considerable attention to traffic and its safety, it does not always succeed in effectively preventing traffic crimes. From the facts found, it is clear that, unlike many other areas of criminal law, traffic crimes are more directly dependent than other illegal acts on a number of variables that are little influenced by humans, but which often..

Explaining Recommender Systems in Content-rich Domains

    No full text
Services on the internet need to handle increasing volumes of data and so do the users. Information retrieval systems prevent overloading of users with extensive amount of information, the class of these systems used in ecommerce is called recommender sys- tems. They select a subset of data to be presented to users. This selection is based on multiple criteria, which can be generalized as the estimated preferences of the users. Recommender systems are being used in all ecommerce domains, but are their capabil- ities fully exploited? This thesis analyzes the current usage of recommender systems in ecommerce and identifies problems in one of the domains, content-rich products. This thesis suggests possible ways to improve exploitation of the recommender systems in these domains and provides sample implementation of an interactive system rich with product and attribute explanation in the form of a web application. User study was conducted to evaluate the proposed solution, hopefully leading to better cooperation of users and recommender systems.

AJ: Addictologist - Healthcare Worker: The Specifics of Their Position in Social Services ABSTRACT Background: According to the legislation, an addiction specialist is a health worker prepared for work in the health sector and outside of it. However, the nature of addiction services is regulated by various departmental laws and influenced by various strategic, conceptual and systemic frameworks that are set in individual departments. The disconnection of health and social services forms a barrier in the way of verifying the quality and the binding of services to various legislative frameworks, in the financing of addiction services and the job position of an addiction specialist. Available research shows that the majority of addiction services are registered only as a social service, and the job position of an addiction specialist differs greatly due to the legislative regulations that govern these services. It is necessary to point out the importance of anchoring the identity of the addictologist as a health worker in addiction social services. Objective: The main objective of the work is to identify the specifics of the position of an addictologist as a health worker in addiction services that fulfill the status of a social service. The goal will be achieved, among other things, by comparing the situation..
