Title: Musculoskeletal System Status in Elite Junior Golfers at the End of the Golf Season Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the musculoskeletal system status of elite junior golf players aged 13 to 18 at the end of the golf season. Particular attention is paid to the occurrence of musculoskeletal pain or injuries, the presence of muscle tightness, joint range of motion, and side-to-side differences. The thesis also investigates the relationship between training load and the occurrence of pain or injuries, as well as between the players' handicap and these issues. Methods: The research sample consisted of 26 players (13 boys and 13 girls) aged 13 to 18 who actively participated in official golf competitions and had a handicap of ≤ 15. The practical part included anamnestic questionnaires focusing on the occurrence of pain or injuries during the season, as well as data on handicap, laterality, and training load. The kinesiological assessment involved measurement of active range of motion of the spine and joints (shoulder, hip, elbow, and wrist) using a goniometer and muscle tightness testing according to Janda. The data were statistically analyzed using R Commander and MS Excel. The Shapiro-Wilk test, paired t-test, Wilcoxon test, Cohen's d, and Fisher's exact test were applied. The..

    No full text
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of nursing care for patients with Alzheimer's disease from the perspective of nurses. Alzheimer's disease, as one of the most common forms of dementia, represents a complex problem with health and social consequences that significantly affect the quality of life not only of patients, but also of their caregivers. This work emphasizes the high level of demand for nursing care in individual phases of the disease and points out the physical, psychological and sensory burden that nurses are exposed to. The main objective of the research was to determine the level of burden of nurses when caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease. To propose interventions leading to the improvement of working conditions and quality of care and to support more effective communication between nurses and family members. Within the practical part, several research questions were set, which were focused on how individual phases of the disease affect the burden of nurses and what strategies nurses use to manage stress and overall burden. Based on the research questions, 4 hypotheses were established focusing on the level of burden on nurses, the influence of different stages of the disease on this burden, methods of coping with work stress and communication between nurses and..

1 C2-Internal The Abstract in English. The thesis focuses on the social life of the Hussites and the Bohemian Brethren in the Czech lands between 1409 and 1526. It describes how religious reforms and political and social upheavals affected the everyday life of individuals and entire communities. Attention is paid to the organisation of religious communities, the internal social structure, the position of women, family life, education, care for the needy and changes in law and administration. The work also traces how new ethical and social ideals took shape, especially the emphasis on equality, fraternity, and communal solidarity. Hussitism and Unity represented not only religious movements but also significant social alternatives to the feudal society of the time. The Hussites attempted to create a more equitable order of society, emphasizing moral purity and the active participation of the faithful in the governance of the community. Particular emphasis is placed on comparing the differences between the radical Hussite currents and the more moderate ones, whose different approaches to questions of power, property and social justice greatly influenced the shape of people's lives. The results of this study contribute to a closer understanding of the dynamics of the Bohemian Reformation, the transformation of..

    No full text
The bachelor thesis deals with natural toxins in fruits and vegetables and their effects on the human body. The thesis is a literary review divided into three main chapters. The first chapter deals with toxicology as a scientific field, its history, branches and important technical terms. The second chapter introduces the most significant natural toxins in fruits and vegetables in the Czech Republic, specifically cyanogenic glucosides, glucosinolates, cucurbitacins, furanocoumarins and steroidal glycoalkaloids. The chapter describes the chemical structure, biosynthesis, mechanism of toxicity, occurrence in fruits and vegetables and the effect of processing on the content of these toxins for each group. The third chapter looks at these compounds from a different point of view describing their potential health benefits substantiated by results of scientific studies and their possible pharmacological utilization. Keywords: toxin, toxicity, fruits, vegetables, human body, cancer, treatmen

Title: The possibility of unifying two branches of aerobics Objective: The aim of the bachelor thesis was to determine the possible unification of sports and gymnastics aerobics. Methodology: The practical part included a questionnaire survey conducted among coaches from both disciplines, as well as an analysis of competition routines performed by athletes representing FIG and FISAF. Results: The results showed that coaches mostly perceive the unification positively, but they also point out significant differences in rules, evaluation systems, and the overall approach of the two disciplines. The analysis of the routines confirmed these differences-especially in terms of technical execution, routine structure, and expression. Key words: Sport aerobics, aerobic gymnastics, unification, federations, coaches, rule

Poetry versus Show: Conflicts in the Czech Slam Poetry Scene

    No full text
This bachelor thesis explores the definition of the "Czech slam poetry scene" and the several ways in which its participants perceive this scene. These different perceptions are examined and described through the lens of Luc Boltanski and Laurent Thevenot's critical capacity theory. Grounded theory methodology was employed to analyse qualitative data from nine semi-structured interviews with participants in the slam poetry scene. Based on this qualitative analysis, the author identified three distinct "actor worlds" within the Czech slam poetry scene: poetic, professional, and popular. Participants also perceive a "world of audience," which influences how their performances are evaluated by the visitors to events. These three actor conceptions were defined based on the conflicts that arise within Czech slam poetry. Namely the mode of production for individual slam events, the role of novice performers, and the contradictions in actors' statements regarding the role of scoring individual performances. The poetic world justifies its position in these conflicts by emphasizing the importance of the performer's originality and authenticity, while the professional world defends its stance through the production demands for stability and professionalism. The popularization world, on the other hand,..

Between Euphoria and Disillusionment: The Media Perception of German and Austrian Supermarket Chains in the Czech Republic after 1989

1 Abstract The aim of this thesis is to investigate the media image of the entry of foreign, especially German and Austrian food chains into the Czech Republic in the 1990s. A qualitative content analysis of media outputs is to provide insight into the perceptions and attitudes ofawide range of actors (consumers, politicians, Czechentrepreneurs, foreigninvestors) and to help identify how attitudes towards foreign chains changed in the Czech Republic and which events in Czech economic history were responsible for this. The present paper concludes that after the Velvet Revolution and the years of central economic planning, there were high (and perhaps even naive) expectations among Czechs towards the entry of foreign firms, which were associated with the idea of Western prosperity. But after a phase of euphoria came a sobering. The developing market capitalism in the country gave way to powerful foreign players with capital and know-how, who on the one hand offered lower prices and better services, on the other hand, liquidated all attempts at Czech supermarket and hypermarket brands and led many small and medium-sized retail entrepreneurs to bankruptcy. Last but not least, the lack of political regulation contributed to foreign investors building their new branches in a way that was not friendly to the..

Detection of pathogenic variants in selected cancer predisposition genes and functional analysis as a tool for their classification

    No full text
Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the Czech Republic. Approximately 5-10% of cases are caused by a germline variant causing a hereditary predisposition to develop these diseases. The causative variants are dominantly located in one of the well-characterized major predisposing genes. With routine use of next-generation sequencing (NGS), candidate predisposition genes are also at the forefront of genetic testing. Their protein products are involved in DNA repair, regulating responses to DNA damage, or act as interaction partners of the products of known predisposition genes. In this dissertation we analyzed tumor predisposition in adult cancer patients, which have not been systematically studied in the Czech Republic (including men with breast cancer, young women with ovarian cancer, patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and women with endometrial cancer). In these cohorts, we described the main tumor predisposition genes and identified possible candidate predisposition genes and variants. We used NGS from genomic DNA and parallel RNA analyses to perform tumor predisposition analyses, allowing us to identify the impact of variants on mRNA metabolism. Among the candidate predisposition genes, we focused on MRN complex genes (MRE11, RAD50, NBN) and the FANCG gene. The Czech Republic..

The Cycle of Violence and a Critical Feminist Perspective on Women's Repeated Returns to Crisis Intervention.

    No full text
This thesis focuses on the cycle of violence and its impact on the life trajectories of women who repeatedly seek crisis intervention in the context of domestic abuse. The aim of the research was to identify the key factors influencing women's decisions to return to abusive partners and to explore which social work strategies may contribute to their long-term empowerment and safety. The theoretical framework is based on critical feminism in combination with the trauma- informed approach, which enables us to understand women's returns not as personal failure, but as a consequence of structural, institutional, and relational inequalities. The research follows a qualitative design and is based on semi-structured interviews with nine women who had repeated experiences with crisis support. The data were analyzed using a combination of deductive and open coding, with attention paid to the language of their narratives and the emotional dimension of their experiences. The findings show that returns to abusive relationships are shaped by a complex interplay of factors - including trauma bonding, motherhood, financial and housing insecurity, and a lack of accessible and coordinated support. A key element of effective intervention proved to be a trusting relationship with a professional, based on respect,..
