Alcohol Abstinence in Generation Z: Reasons, Social Challenges And Lifestyle

    No full text
1 Abstract This diploma thesis examines the phenomenon of alcohol abstinence among Generation Z in the Czech Republic. In the context of a country with traditionally high alcohol consumption, the thesis explores young people's motivations for abstinence, the social challenges they face, and their lifestyle. The research uses a qualitative methodology based on twelve semi-structured interviews with young adults aged 18-26 who have consciously abstained from alcohol for at least one year. The interviews were processed using the open coding method, which led to the identification of five main categories: motivations for abstinence, social aspects of abstinence, lifestyle changes associated with abstinence, the role of the digital environment, and the perception of abstinence in Czech society. The results suggest that motivations for abstinence include health reasons, family influences, personality factors, negative experiences, and loss of interest in drinking. Respondents use various strategies to navigate social environments where alcohol consumption is the norm, with significant regional differences in the acceptance of abstinence. An important finding is the seemingly strong connection between abstinence and a broader complex of healthy lifestyle habits, suggesting a synergistic effect of positive life..

The goal is to identify the main training characteristics of this method, verify their impact on performance, and explore their transferability to the training of endurance athletes, with an emphasis on triathletes. Methods: This bachelor's thesis is of a theoretical-analytical nature. It employs the method of a review study, drawing from available literature, analysis of professional texts, published studies, and interviews. Results: Based on the analysis of the available literature, studies, and interviews, the main characteristics of the Norwegian training method in triathlon were identified. This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of labour pain and the possibilities of its relief. Labour pain is a natural part of childbirth; however, its intensity and perception are highly individual. Labour pain represents a complex phenomenon influenced by physiological, psychological, and social factors. The aim of this thesis is to present the mechanisms of labour pain, explore its significance in the context of childbirth, and evaluate the effectiveness of available pain relief methods. The theoretical part provides a detailed description of labour pain and divides pain relief methods into non-pharmacological and pharmacological categories. The practical part, using quantitative research, examines the level of awareness among women in labour regarding available pain relief methods, their preferences in selecting these methods, and identifies which of these methods are most commonly used in current practice. The results show that women appreciate having a choice, an individual approach, and access to information -all of which positively influence their ability to cope with pain. The conclusions of this thesis can serve as a valuable basis for improving care for women in labour within obstetric practice. Key words: labour pain, pain relief, pharmacological methods, non-pharmacological methods,..

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the presentation and discussion of female roles in the contemporary digital space, using the TikTok platform as a case study. The aim is to explore how femininity is represented and discussed through digital communication, and how social media influence the shaping of feminist and antifeminist currents. The research employs a qualitative methodology, specifically multimodal content analysis, and identifies the main types of ideological frameworks: progressive, radical, liberal, and antifeminist as analytical tools prior to the start of the research. The thesis reflects on the specifics of TikTok's algorithmic environment and its impact on the dissemination and visibility of individual ideological streams.
