Investigating the Effects of Future Climate on Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in a Belgian Pear Orchard Ecosystem
Unveiling Driving Behavior Patterns During a Naturalistic Driving Experiment.
This paper aims to provide a detailed overview of driving behaviour indicators during the implementation of the H2020 project i-DREAMS interventions in Greece. To fulfil this aim, a robust methodology utilizing a k-means clustering approach was employed to detect meaningful driving behaviour patterns within a dataset comprising 11,731 trips from 56 Greek car drivers. This exploratory analysis was complemented by an unsupervised pattern recognition algorithm, which aimed at identifying clusters based on safe or dangerous driving behaviour of the users. The assessment of driving behaviour encompassed indicators such as speeding events, harsh braking and accelerating events, and distraction events (phone in hand). This analysis provides valuable insights into the risky driving behaviour among the i-DREAMS naturalistic driving experiment Phases in Greece.Part of this work has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No 814761
Sensory cues as transformative tools in driving inclusion: insights from visitors and managerial perspectives
Museum visits are inherently multisensory, however, systematic research on leveraging sensory design to enrich experiences and tackle managerial challenges - particularly inclusion - remains scarce. This research investigates how strategically aligned sensory cues can enhance visitor engagement while providing insights for inclusive, effective museum management practices. Study 1 employed an experiment where participants viewed a painting under four conditions (no cues, music, scent, or both), each designed to ensure sensory congruence. Text mining showed that sensory cues shifted evaluations from neutral (interesting) to restorative (relaxing, fascinating) and cognitive (attentive, inspiring). Specifically, music enhanced broad appeal (fun), and scent emphasized distinctiveness (special). Despite variations, sensory experiences generally remained multidimensional. Study 2 involved semi-structured interviews with museum professionals to examine sensory cues as transformative tools for inclusion. Using the Ladder of Inclusive Innovation framework, it identified key challenges and antecedents. This research highlights critical gaps and provides insights for inclusive, sensory-based visitor engagement.Funding

Evaluating the effects of aqueous extracts from blueberry leaves, berries, and biochar on seedling growth of Arabidopsis thaliana and crop species
Intersectional policies in Higher Education and Research: a scoping literature review
Gender equality has been one of the European Union’s founding principles since its establishment in 1957. The European Commission recently adopted an intersectional approach to its (gender) equality policies in order to include those who experience multiple, interlocking forms of inequalities and discrimination yet remain invisible in these policies (Garcia and Zajicek 2022; European Commission 2020a). Despite a plethora of academic work unpacking intersectionality, the knowledge on how to design, implement and assess ‘intersectional equality policies’ remains scarce. This has challenged policymakers in research organizations on how to tackle these intersecting equalities in their policies and practice (Christoffersen 2021). This scoping literature review addresses this knowledge gap. Sixty-one articles retrieved from Web of Science and Scopus were analysed to identify the intersectional approaches used to study equality policies in Higher Education and Research institutes (HE&R). The goal was to map the existing scientific literature using an intersectional approach to the study of equality policies in a HE&R context, what policy measures are mentioned in these studies that are currently in place to target intersecting inequalities and present which policy measures the studies perceived as (in)effective. The results show that the available literature is limited. It predominantly consists of qualitative studies in the United States and the United Kingdom investigating the lived experiences of minoritised students and staff on inclusion and exclusion in research organizations. Although this individual level is crucial to include the needs of those experiencing intersecting inequalities into effective intersectional policies, there is a gap of research on the organizational and structural level of oppressive structures in HE&R and how they mutually reinforce each other in policymaking processes. To conclude, knowledge gaps and recommendations are formulated for scholars, policymakers and practitioners.Horizon Europe Project 101058537 - INSPIR
The Remediation of Fact-Checks on Social Media: Insights from a Multi-Platform Content Analysis
The rise of social media has escalated the spread of misinformation, and the practice of fact-checking has become a key tool in the fight against it. Over time, the practice of fact-checking evolved and in recent years, fact-checking practices have shifted to social media platforms. However, social media’s unique logic requires fact-checkers to adapt—or “remediate” - their content to these platforms, which can prove to be challenging. Research is currently lacking on how fact-checks are remediated to this new format. This study examined how fact-checking organizations remediate their website fact-checks to different social media platforms, through an extensive content analysis (N = 14.891) of website and social media fact-checks published by eight fact-checking organizations (Belgium, the US, the UK). Results show that transfer rates from the website to social media are generally high, but that there are differences across organizations. Fact-checks are diffused to social media with an initial widespread burst across platforms but are often not re-shared after this. Reposting of content happens mostly within the platform, with reposts across platforms occurring less often. There is a prevalence of hard news topics both in website fact-checks as on social media, indicating no trend of news softening.Funding

Contact Properties of Quantum Devices Using NV⁻Centers in Diamond
