The Key Role of Media Literacy in the Forming of Critical Health Literacy: The Case of Social Media in Turkey
Get PDFThis study emphasises critical health literacy and as a consequence, the importance of media literacy in establishing health consciousness. Health litreacy is examined with critical view by this descriptive study and emphasizes the strategic role of media literacy in the development of health literacy. Turkey ranks as the second most active country in social media penetration and the study treats media literacy in Turkey exclusively with regards to “social media” use in Turkey and explains the reasons behind this preference with statistics. Furthermore, this study discusses the development and the spreading of critical health literacy and includes suggestions toward the goal.
Change Management: A Theoretical Framework
Get PDFOrganizations are dynamic and open systems that exist in mutual affection with their environment and deliver output to environment from which they receive inputs. Organizations need to make organizational regulations against internal and external occurring changes. Therefore, organizations have to gain new features and abilities in order to get along with the change. Today, changes we face in all areas affect also health system. The increase of the society’s health level is attributed to well-mannered health policy, and to give good preventive and remedial health services. Health executive have important roles in implementing these services, as well. Thus, in this article study, evaluations depending on healthcare organizations are done as focusing on the changes and the change management process in organizations. The importance of change management in health organizations and the factors that were required for its efficiency are mentioned. The success of health organizations can be attributed to their ability to adapt the changes occurred their around depending on the conceptual studies and obtained study findings. In order to have an effective change management in health organizations, firstly it needed to understand the importance of change and its necessity, to train the employees who work for the organization, to include them to change preparation and implementation processes and to give support to them about the change. In this article, suggestions are presented for health organizations as discussing in question topic, change management implementations.Keywords. Public Policy Formulation in Three Selected Sectors of an Emerging Economy Case Mauritius
Get PDFAbstract. The development of public policies is common to any economy since they help define the path that a country is likely to pursue in the future. Policies aim at the betterment of mankind and when it comes to dealing with public administration, government has to critically think ahead in terms of challenges and opportunities to develop by formulating and implementing effective public policies. Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean, is no exception to it and it follows sound public policies for its long-term benefit. While policies may appear glamorous from their inception, it is important to be able to synthesise them and see how they are workable. Some policies succeed and others might fail. The researcher selected three public policies focusing on the ageing population, the services sector and international business. These are imperatives worth considering. For each of these policies to be applicable, their mechanisms must be understood. In this concern, the researcher developed three formulas respectively to conceptualise the public policies by highlighting how improvements or changes per component within the formula would help Mauritius attain its long-term goals. Assuming that policies depend a lot of sound governance principles and investment, the human and external factors would not be visible in the formulas which are essentially concepts that are rather understood in a simplistic manner for policy makers.Keywords. Anthropomorphism and Advertising Effectiveness: Moderating Roles of Product Involvement and The Type of Consumer Need

The goal of this study is to explore that whether using anthropomorphism in ads stimulates active information processing by increasing attention paid to the brand and creates some positive results on brand recall and attitude toward the brand. In this context, moderating roles of involvement level and product type were also investigated. Using experimental design, hypotheses were tested in two product groups. Offering important insights to practitioners to build an effective advertising message, results not only support that anthropomorphism could increase attention in advertisements but also emphasize the significance of context-specific factors in consumer perceptions.Keywords. Local Government System in Pakistan: Causes of bad Governance of Local Government System
Get PDFThe local government is one of the vital organs of the state through which programs of development are formulated and implemented for the community. The democratically elected members at the local government level represented the community and advocate the interests of the community in the social and economic development of the area. The research paper has thoroughly described the existing local government system of Pakistan and also has investigated the critical causes of bad governance in the local government system of Pakistan that hinders the social and economic development of the country. This is a qualitative study; the researcher reviewed and synthesized all the available information gathered from the various sources related to the local government governance in Pakistan. The researcher in this research paper used secondary source of information and observations. Since the introduction of parliamentary form of democratic system in Pakistan, the country has gone through number of modifications and amendments in the local government system but due to the instability in the democratic system, the political governments had failed to deliver good public services at the local government levels. The study has identified major causes i.e Political, Social, Administrative and mismanagement of resources and rampant corruption, which have severely paralyzed the governance system at local government level of Pakistan.Keywords.
