MusicLab.
ChatGPT in Computer Science Education: A Case Study on a Database Administration Course
GenAI tools like ChatGPT have changed the educational landscape, and empirical experiences are needed to better understand how to use them to their fullest potential. This article empirically explores the usage of ChatGPT 3.5 in database administration education through a case study conducted with 40 computer science students. Specifically, it inspects how widespread the use of ChatGPT is and students¿ perceptions of this tool, how prior knowledge on a topic affects the use of ChatGPT, and the relationship between the usage of ChatGPT and success in solving practical problems. The student¿s grades in a computer practical exam, a set of theoretical tests to assess progression in knowledge acquisition, and a comprehensive questionnaire are employed as research instruments. The obtained results indicate that students use ChatGPT moderately but more frequently than traditional internet learning resources such as official documentation, Stack Overflow or googling. However, the usage is uneven among students, and those who end up getting better grades use ChatGPT more. Beyond prompting skills, one of the elements that is key to the students¿ productive use of this tool is their prior knowledge about database administration. This article concludes that ChatGPT is an excellent educational instrument in the context of database administration and that in order to use it properly, it is necessary for students to have good prompting skills as well as a sound theoretical basis. Training students in the use of GenAI tools like ChatGPT, for example, with a guided practice strategy where prompting and conducted step-by-step practice are employed is key to prevent the appearance of new digital trenches
Radiography of the Environmental Consultancy to the Audiovisual Industry in Spain: An Emerging Sector

Advection-based multiframe iterative correction for pressure estimation from velocity fields
A novel method to improve the accuracy of pressure field estimation from time-resolved Particle Image Velocimetry data is proposed. This method generates several new time-series of velocity field by propagating in time the original one using an advection-based model, which assumes that small-scale turbulence is advected by large-scale motions. Then smoothing is performed at the corresponding positions across all the generated time-series. The process is repeated through an iterative scheme. The proposed technique smears out spatial noise by exploiting time information. Simultaneously, temporal jitter is repaired using spatial information, enhancing the accuracy of pressure computation via the Navier–Stokes equations. We provide a proof of concept of the method with synthetic datasets based on a channel flow and the wake of a 2D wing. Different noise models are tested, including Gaussian white noise and errors with some degree of spatial coherence. Additionally, the filter is evaluated on an experimental test case of the wake of an airfoil, where pressure field ground truth is not available. The result shows the proposed method performs better than conventional filters in velocity and pressure field estimation, especially when spatially coherent errors are present. The method is of direct application in advection-dominated flows, although its extension with more advanced models is straightforward. This project has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No 949085)
Spanish Piano Music and Folklore from the Eighteenth to Early Twentieth Centuries: Crossing Paths
This is a pioneering work on the study of popular music—songs and dances—from the eighteenth to early twentieth centuries. The piano was the dominant solo instrument in European art music of this period, including Spanish, and Ana Benavides uses this as a vehicle for examining a wide variety of vernacular songs and dances, offering a wealth of musical, historical, and ethnographic insight. First published in Spanish in 2019, this translation by Walter Aaron Clark shows how one of the most frequent and established practices in the history of Western art music has been the borrowing and reinterpretation of traditional and popular musics, which reflect the lives and spirit of those outside the upper social strata. This volume provides an exploration of specific folk-inspired works with an inquiry into the historical cross-pollination between popular and classical musical idioms. It will prove invaluable not only to pianists but also to scholars, performers, and students in general
Temporary Agency Work and Labor Misallocation
user firms has received limited theoretical attention. This paper seeks to address this gap byfocusing on temporary agency work. We develop a two-period search model in which firmscan hire workers directly or through a temporary work agency (TWA). The agency acts asa matchmaker, providing flexibility by spreading termination risks across firms and certifyingassignment quality through worker screening. However, it faces a trade-off between creatingproductive matches and retaining control over workers for future placements. In equilibrium, thisresults in inefficient assignments, prolonged TWA employment spells, and lower transition ratesto stable jobs, ultimately reducing overall productivity. Distortions are amplified when wages indirect-hire jobs are set through Nash bargaining rather than directed search. Although transferpayments from firms poaching TWA workers could, in principle, mitigate these distortions, suchtransfers are often restricted by labor regulations. The model predicts that TWA employmentis particularly relevant for low-skilled workers, a finding supported by empirical evidence fromcountries like Spain. Furthermore, it predicts that these low-skilled workers are more likely tobecome trapped in inefficient job assignments. Drawing on Spanish administrative data, wedocument both poaching and misallocation among workers employed through TWAs. Buildingon these findings, we simulate a calibrated model that replicates key features of the dataFinancial support by MICIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033, grants RTI2018-095231-B-I00, PID2019-107161GB-C3, CEX2021-001181-M, PID2022-142496OB-I00, TED2021-129600A-I00, and PID2023-152029OB-I00, Comunidad de Madrid, grants EPUC3M11 (V PRICIT) and H2019/HUM-5891 and Fundación Ramón Areces, is gratefully acknowledged
