"A x A", the cultural dimension of Arquitectura journal. 1977-1980

    No full text
This article examines the evolution of Arquitectura, the journal of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid, under the leadership of Jerónimo Junquera, Estanislao Pérez Pita between 1977-1980. This paper describes the study of a house in the city of Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina, built in a vulnerable social context. Water edges. The productive as a project technique in mediation with the limit of the sea

    No full text
This article traces a learning trajectory of cultural and architectural heritage, establishing a narrative around the beginning of the productive constitution of water edges in the Atlantic coastal territory. lt focuses on the exchanges and transfers between aquaculture and architecture, through constructions raised from anonymous procedures constituted as productive infrastructures, almost hidden and barely studied, which lie dispersed articulating the swinging space of the Atlantic peninsular coast. lt shows that in contemporary times, post-ecological ar industrial production strategies have colonized a large part of our planet, establishing new anthropological, landscape and cultural identities. Where, the different societies assume "the artificial" as a habitat, being a way far the transformation of the different vital dynamics in the search far sustenance, creating a work-oriented territory. This situation values the approach to those vestiges ar pre-industrial constructions that tried to work with natural synergies and the territory, which call into question many of the current problems. Thus, an opportunity is established to explore the traces of the domestication of the habitat at the edges of the water, where society established links through artificial ecologies in the exploitation of nearby natural resources.Sin FinanciaciónNo data JCR 2023; No data SJR 2023; 0,02 C4 IDR 202

Comparative analysis of patellar tendon, achilles tendon and plantar fascia structure in indoor and outdoor football players: a novel cross-sectional study

    No full text
Different sport modalities were associate with tendon adaptation or even tendon disturbances, such as volleyball, soccer or basketball. Purpose: the aim of the present study was to determine de difference between indoor and outdoor football players on patellar tendon (PT), Achilles tendon (AT), plantar fascia (FP) and Hoffa’s fat pad thickness assessed with ultrasound imaging (USI). A cross-sectional study was developed with a total sample of 30 soccer players divided in two groups: outdoor group (n = 15) and indoor group (n = 15). The thickness of PT, AT, PF and Hoffa’s fat pad has been assessed with USI. Hoffa’s fat pad reported significant differences for the left side between groups (P = 0.026). The rest of variables did not show any significant difference (P < 0.05). The ultrasonography assessment of the thickness of the PT, AT and PF did not show differences between outdoor and indoor football players. Hoffa’s fat pad resulted showed a significant decrease for outdoor soccer players with respect futsal players. Thus, it can be considered that the load stimuli received in both soccer players were not enough to produce structural adaptations in PT, AT and PF tissues.

Anting Behaviour in Wild Strigiformes? A Video-Case in the Little Owl Athene noctua

    No full text
Anting (using ants for grooming) is a rare behaviour pattern observed in birds. It is more common in Passeriformes than in other avian orders. Anting behaviour has been reported in only a few non-passerine species, or only doubtful observations have been reported, such as in the Strigiformes. Using a trail camera, we recorded a potential example of passive anting behaviour of a nocturnal raptor (Little Owl Athene noctua) in eastern Spain. This circumstantial record of apparent anting behaviour could be of significance, as it appears that Little Owl sometimes exhibits anting behaviour, which has not been previously documented. We think that some avian spreadeagled postures might have previously been misclassified as sunbathing because this behaviour has been poorly studied, whereas they may have actually involved anting behaviour.Sin Financiación0.5 Q4 JCR 20230.223 Q4 SJR 2023No data IDR 2023UE

The Advertising of Scale Models as Educational Technical Toys: Case study of Revell´s Marketing Strategy (1957-2023)

    No full text
This chapter analyzes the advertising strategy of a brand that produce, distribute, and sell scale models (technical toys sector) all over the world. The firm analyzed is Revell, an international model-making company founded in North America in 1943, whose promotional strategy, since the mid-20th century, includes educational and didactic messages aimed at children and young people of different ages. The objective of this research is to present a new vision on the historical evolution of the advertising communication of Revell. It is the first time that a rigorous analysis of the advertising messages of scale modeling brand has been carried out, taking into account that the publications on this sector deal more with commercial, industrial or business aspects, and have focused mainly on the evolution of brands from the perspective of changes and transformations of their own products, not from the analysis of advertising communication.Sin financiaciónSPI 2022UE
