This study investigating the effectiveness of using Sainsmatika story tale book towards student science anxiety. The study were an experimental research with pretest-posttest control-group design, involving 122 fourth-grade students in one of the district in Indonesia. Characteristically, this research employs quantitative data which were collected from the questionnaire results regarding science anxiety. The data were analyzed using statistical methods to calculate the values and determine the frequency as well as the mean of pretest and posttest scores in control and experimental classes. To determine the effectiveness of using fairytale books to reduce students’ science anxiety, the one-way analysis of ANOVA was used with a significant difference at the level of Sig < 0.05. The results of this study reveal that the use of sainsmatika-based fairytale books is effective to reduce science anxiety of the fourth-grade students with significancy 0.00 (<0.05)
Analisis Pengaruh Frekuensi Belajar di Luar Sekolah dan Motivasi Belajar terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA: The Effect of Frequency of Out-School Learning Activities and Learning Motivation on Student's Science Learning Outcomes
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of frequency of out-school learning activities and learning motivation towards improving students' natural science learning achievement. This research is quantitative research with an ex-post facto approach. The subjects in the study were 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Mataram in the academic year at 2018/2019 with a total of 260 people. Data collection of science learning outcomes is obtained from daily tests from teachers in schools while data collection of the frequency of out-school learning activities and learning motivation is obtained using a questionary. The effect of frequency of out-school learning activities and learning motivation on learning achievement of science are analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANAKOVA). The results of the study show that: 1) the frequency of out-school learningactivities has a significant influence on science learning achievement; 2) student's learning motivation has a significant effect on science learning achievement, and 3) there is an interaction between the frequency of out-school learning activities and learning motivation on students' learning achievement in science. The frequency of out-school learning activities and learning motivation is proven have effect on science learning achievement
Sikap Siswa Terhadap IPA berdasarkan Investigasi dan Korelasi: Kesenangan Belajar dan Minat Meluangkan Waktu pada IPA : The Student's Attitude toward Science based on Investigation and Correlation: Learning Fun & Enthusiasm for Spending Time
This study purposed to investigate attitudes towards science in junior high school students, based on 2 attitude indicators: (1) enjoyment in science lesson & (2) leisure interest in science. In addition, measurements were also made regarding the relationship between the two indicators of attitude. This research is survey research. The results of the data came from an attitude questionnaire consisting of indicators (1) enjoyment in science lesson and (2) leisure interest in science. The sample consisted of 2815 junior high school students in Jambi Province, Indonesia. The results showed that for indicators: (1) enjoyment in science is good category with a percentage of 48.1%, (2) leisure interest in science is fairly good category with a value: 47.2% and This indicator leads to a positive trend supported by a positive attitude with a greater good value: 38.4%, while for the analysis of the correlation between the two indicators shows a positive correlation with a sig: 0,000 (<0.05) and has a strong degree of correlation indicated by the value "Pearson Correlation": 0.716. Therefore, it is concluded overall attitudes towards science at Junior high school students in Jambi, Indonesia have a positive attitude and are categorized well
Hubungan Kerja Keras dan Sikap Siswa dalam Pembelajaran IPA : Relationship between Hard Work and Attitudes of Students in Science Learning
This study aims to determine the relationship of hard work to the attitudes of students in science subjects at SMPN 4 Muaro Jambi. The research design used is associative quantitative with correlation design. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a total sample of 126 students. The analysis technique used is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics display the mean, mode, minimum and maximum values. While the inferential statistics used are product-moment correlation tests. Based on the results of this study, it was found that there is a relationship of hard work towards students' attitudes in science subjects that can be seen from the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.010 <0.05 which states there is a relationship between attitude to student hard work. Then the correlation coefficient of 0.668 which states that the level of correlation is strong
Praksis Pendidikan Perspektif Integrasi Sains dan Islam: Praxis Education Perspective of Science and Islam Integration
Commonly, practice of islamic education implementation is dichotomic. Muhammadiyah as a pioneer of modern islamic education in Indonesia in its implementation has tried to pair up science and Islam, both institutionally and scienctifically. Scientifically proven that school system in past was only taught science, whereas islamic boarding taught only Islam. Muhammadiyah through its education system offers the integration of science and Islam through religious education which is now popularly called al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan education. At PTMA there are also Islamic Studies which are carried out by FAI in almost every Muhammadiyah university. While institutionally generally Muhammadiyah universities provide mushalla or mosques to complement their school infrastructure, even in the organizational structure there are officials who are directly in charge of al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan. It all is still not integrated as a whole that benefits both science and institutions. Science has not been integrated in the subject of the study of al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan, and vice versa
Pengembangan Buku Ajar Berbasis Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis : Development of Textbooks Based on Critical Thinking Skills
This teaching material development offers a solution to facilitate the students ' critical thinking skills through chemical learning. The purpose of this research is to produce decent teaching materials to facilitate students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is development research using Dick, Carey, and Carey's development models. Research instruments use poll responses from learning media experts, learning design, and learning materials. The resulting development product is a teaching book. Based on the results of data analysis obtained from the responses of learning media experts, learning design experts, and learning materials experts demonstrate that the teaching materials are developed worthy to be used in the process of learning chemistry with the access The average percentage score amounted to 89.33% of the learning media experts, 83.33% of the learning design experts, and 93.33% of the learning material experts. This chemical teaching materials development product is also feasible to facilitate students ' critical thinking skills in the learning process. The results of the assessment of all test subjects against the critical Thinking skills indicator show an average percentage of 95% of the learning media experts, 80% of the learning design experts, and 100% of the learning material experts
Keanekaragaman Spesies Kupu-Kupu di Taman Cibodas, Cianjur, Jawa Barat sebagai Sumber Pembelajaran Biologi : The Diversity of Butterfly Species at Cibodas Park, Cianjur, West Java as a Source of Biology Learning
Indonesia has many endemic butterfly species and there are about 2,000 species found in Indonesia from 17,500 species of butterflies in the world. This research was conducted for five months from January to May 2017 at Cibodas Botanical Garden of Cianjur Regency, West Java. Technique of taking data is done by butterfly captured directly by insect net in each observation point. The observation of butterflies in the three locations of Sakura Park, Guest House and Fountain at Cibodas Botanical Garden found 98 individuals from 21 species consisting of 4 families, among others Papilionidae (4 species), Nymphalidae (12 species), Pieridae ( 4 species), and Lycaenidae (1 species). At the location of Sakura Park has the highest index value, among others, the species diversity index (H '= 1.92) is moderate, the species richness index (R = 3.51), and the dominance index (C = 0.27), while the species evenness index highest at the Fountain location (E = 0.87). Students are rarely invited to visit KRC to learn directly
